We arrived at HM Martinique at around lunchtime and were checked in very quickly and well advised by the lady on reception, the reception desk has lots of information on about boards, excursions, upgrades and depositable items such as towels, kettles etc. It's location is great, a short walk to the beach, local shops and pubs/bars close by, a children's play park bordering the hotel grounds. One of the adjacent hotels is undergoing construction work and unfortunately we were placed in a room on that side of the hotel (not pool facing) so we heard the constructions throughout our stay, even over the easter bank holiday weekend which was surprising! We did spend quite a lot of time in our room so it did slightly affect our stay but if you're only using it as a sleeping base you should be fine! The pool area looks gorgeous and we did spend quite a bit of time around the pool each day including one full day however we didn't get in any of the outdoor pools as they were absolutely FREEZING, so do bare that in mind when booking as when we booked there was no mention of them not being heated. There is a very small heated pool in the spa area but this was over run with young lads almost daily so we didn't get a look in. Probably the only holiday we all packed swimwear for that never got used! The buffet style restaurant was exactly what you'd expect from this sort of resort, they had themed nights also which was interesting but the evening food stations aren't labelled and the majority of the chefs weren't English speaking to ask what they were cooking fresh. They don't display any allergen information so this could prove tricky if you do have sensitivities. It was a sort of suck it and see approach to a lot of the food on show and while there was a good variety for our party in particular i think fussy eaters would really struggle to get a full evening meal from the selections on offer. That being said, the food was of a good quality, cooked well & always replenished quickly. The queues can get lengthy quickly so we would recommend getting down as soon as the restaurant opens for service. I think the labelling is the only thing I'd say is a problem with the food. Our room was a balcony apartment situated above the main entrance to the hotel on the second floor, accessible by stairs and lifts, however by the end of our stay both of the lifts were out of action and I dread to think how the upper floors coped with the stairs as they can be slippy and are there are lots per floor! The room itself was spacious with a twin single beds bedroom, two large sofas in the living space that doubled up as beds, double balcony overlooking the carpark and some mountains in the distance, a well equipped kitchenette with microwave, hob & fridge, including cups, plates, cutlery. No kettle, no toaster, no hot drink making facilities. The bathroom was very spacious with a large sink area, toilet and very powerful and hot waterfall shower (was our favourite part of the room lol). Towels & toilet rolls were replenished daily unless you put your DND hook on the door. Due to it's very central location and the nature of Magaluf being a party/youngsters destination the hotel does get very busy and very loud at all hours, including the small hours of the morning, guests aren't very considerate of others or aware of the time so be prepared for some disturbed nights sleep, highly recommend packing some patience and earplugs! We found the excursions they were offering we far pricier than booking at the shops along the beachfront so definitely shop around rather than just going with what the hotel offer. All in all, I would definitely return to HM Martinique as it was a gorgeous hotel and staff were lovely, I am putting the teething problems down to it being the first week of the season, I'd love to experience it operating at it's peak but I wouldn't bother with the all inclusive package as you'll find better options if you go for a wander!

The atmosphere at the hotel…well it’s party central and so noisy all the time especially late at night Into the early morning. No one seems to bother about the noise or try to stop it. Not a family hotel. It’s a 18-30 hotel for sure. Nice enough hotel and breakfast was good. Staff were friendly. Rooms were spacious and comfortable however our room was stinking of smoke on arrival which I hate! Loads of cockerels around the hotel and they don’t shut up either. Noise from building site next door was not bad. A few mins walk to go karting which my family loved.
