I’ve recently just stayed here for a week with my mum. The hotel itself is gorgeous however I do think the elderly would struggle due to having to order food or drinks via an app. Besides that the staff are tentatively during breakfast but around the pool/ bar area they are very slow serving. Me and my mum did struggle with finding nice places to eat surrounding the area. We opted for getting the bus most nights to somewhere nicer with a pretty view rather than off the street.

This is a really lovely hotel in a quite location with a gorgeous view over the sea. We had a superior double room and stayed half board. I hadn't appreciated, but had I been more clued up when I booked, I would have booked a sea view and have a balcony. Our room had neither and instead had a large window which overlooked the wall of the property next door. We found the room quite small and we've stayed at Barcelo hotels in Spanish island resorts before, they have a standard layout which is good, but this one felt quite confined and a bit claustrophobic. There were real issues with storage. There is a large wardrobe but no additional storage space, so your clothes are all on one small shelf in the wardrobe but we did ask for extra hangers (which we got). Nowhere to empty out your hand luggage, so endless juggling of toiletries and a book/charger etc. The room does have a safe, and that was included in the price and very useful. In our experience the cleaning was excellent and thorough. We arrived late at night and we had been left some cold meat/cheese/salad/bread as a snack which was a really lovely touch. Breakfast was really lovely, loads of choice, tasty food and a nice atmosphere. Evening meal was a bit of a muted affair, hardly anyone took up the offer when we stayed, so zero atmosphere but plenty of food choice although a lot of repeat food every night - pizza etc. During our stay in early May the adjoining hotel bar wasn't open, which was a shame. Pool area is immaculate and sunbeds are great and comfy, but the weather didn't afford us much sunbathing time, so we didn't use the pool bar once. There is a separate Wellness offer, which includes a 'heated' indoor small pool and jacuzzi, steam room and a sauna and you can use their Spa facilities which you pay for. The outside pool is salt water and absolutely freezing cold, but is a lovely pool and well maintained. We did walk around the coastline, and we did travel into Palma on the local bus (across the road) multiple times, which is cheap and easy but can be packed, so you sometimes stand for big chunks of time. We used a local Spar to buy water and snacks, staff there were lovely and welcoming and we used the mini market across the road too - lovely people, lovely gift shop directly opposite and coffee shop where you can sit outside with a drink or an ice-cream. I booked a private airport transfer via Jet2 which was a genius move and I thoroughly recommend, it was an excellent service and not badly priced. Hotel Reception staff were really friendly and helpful. Restaurant staff too were very welcoming and friendly, and just walking around the hotel, any staff you encountered were friendly and polite. We stayed for a week and enjoyed the close proximity of Palma and all it has to offer. We visited the Cathedral and did the open top bus tour, and there is loads to do and see in Palma itself. Overall, a really nice holiday, and if I were to return, I would definitely want to book a room with a sea view (because it's a fabulous view) and a balcony. I think for a long weekend or short break, this place is ideal.
