After having a bad experience last year in the main hotel we decided to try the apartment side of this hotel due to changing hotels last minute to this one as the only one available. I am glad I did try it again… The apartment side was quiet, secure and very clean. We stayed in room number 2014 and it was very clean with cleaners greeting us every morning whilst walking to breakfast and a good location in the hotel. We have been to Cala dor 3 times in 3 years and we love the location Cala egos there’s a town/beach club and beach all very close to this hotel and a 10 min walk to the marina. From blue sea to the main Cala dor and beaches we payed roughly €5-8 each way in a taxi to visit different areas and they all take card! We didn’t experience the entertainment as we went out every evening to different bars/pubs (we lived in the Yates bar in the town 1000% recommend) but last time the entertainment was really good. Pros- Location, Clean room, good food/drink selection, excellent air con, clean around the complex, comfortable beds. Cons- Water pressure on shower wasn’t great but did the job, No full length mirror. The main thing for us was no bottled water in the fridge or room which I would expect in an all inclusive. As we are coming back to Cala dor next year I would be happy to book this hotel again.

We travelled in late September 2025, we booked two one bedroomed apartments, with one Friend sleeping on the bed settee. We arrived to a long queue for check-in, only one young lady on reception, so it took quite a long time. Our Apartments were OK, bearing in mind this is a three star resort. I don’t think the floors had been mopped and we had to wear footwear all the time, we broke a glass in the bathroom which we swept up but although we informed reception and asked for the bathroom floor to be mopped it wasn’t. We also asked for a kettle for each room, these arrived, neither worked, we were told these would be replaced, they weren’t. However the beds were extremely comfortable and the maids come in each day with fresh towels although these have seen better days, but the bedding wasn’t changed for the six day stay. The water in the taps is salt water which makes showering interesting and bottled water for brushing your teeth. The entertainment team tried their best but definitely need some money spending by the Hotel on their costumes. We did get sunbeds but had to put towels down by 9am, we booked the cabanas for two days but again we had to go to reception early to pay and reserve these. I think the pool area would be very crowded in peak season. We couldn’t fault the food, something for everyone, three meals a day, and I am very picky. Lots of freshly cooked food, fruit, sweets, full breakfast, so can’t go wrong. We found most of the Staff friendly and helpful, a special thank you to Angel in the dining room. Overall, for a three star resort it ticked the boxes but with a few tweaks it could be really lovely.

We stayed at Blue Sea es Bolero this past June and had an incredible time, I wanted to write a detailed review as some of the reviews I have seen on here are very harsh and inaccurate. The hotel itself is lovely, very spacious with three pools, a tennis and football court and lots of seating around the entertainment. The entertainment was great too, we joined in with the kids disco it was better than the clubs to be honest 😂. The acts were great too, with shows such as The Lion King and people eating fire and cover bands which we really enjoyed. The pools went very deep (I could not touch the floor and I am 5'11) but also had shallow ends for children. We liked this as it meant we were allowed to jump and dive into the pool. We went all inclusive, in which you have pay €1 for a reusable cup (which is switched for a fresh one with each drink) but keep your eye on that cup as we left ours on our table whilst we went to the toilet and they were gone when we came back. We asked the staff for new ones and despite recognising us and knowing that we previously had cups we had to buy another four to replace them. The staff will practically make any drink even beyond the all inclusive menu, we were drinking makeshift tequila sunrises and blue lagoons as they have all the ingredients it just isn't on the menu and you have to ask them for the specific ingredients (e.g. tequila & orange juice with a splash of grenadine = tequila sunrise). The food is very varied and has lots of different options every night but not so great for fussy eaters aside from chips. It is also not very clearly labelled for dietary requirements as a dish labelled as "four cheese pasta" turned out to contain beef and pork (which was not such a great discovery as a vegetarian 😂) but the staff will happily let you know what contains what if you ask. Whilst you do have to pay for ice cream outside by the bar, there is a soft serve ice cream machine with the dessert table during lunch and dinner. Lots of reviews talk about the lack of sunbeds but we found that there were always enough for all four of us to sit together even at around 9am-10am, but this may be because we came before the school holidays started. Our room was a little bit dated in its decor but clean and cosy along with a small balcony attached to the room. The bolero "section" has a little separate terrace away from the main amenities with tables and chairs that was nice to sit and play card games out on. There were quite a few ants on our balcony (that made themselves at home in our swimming costumes and towels that were out there to dry 🤢) but we didn't see many down by the pool, maybe one or two. The nearest beach and the town are a five minute walk away from the hotel which is very handy. The beach seemed to have lots of bits of plastic floating around but there was a cool rock to jump into the sea from, but humans did that to themselves really - stop littering the oceans and that won't be a problem I suppose. The town is also a quick five minute walk away, with lots of souvenir shops, bars, restaurants, convenience stores and clubs. The town and surrounding beaches are a lovely walk in the night, it is quite busy so you feel safe in the dark but as you walk along you can hear the music from various hotels and bars which is nice. All in all we had a brilliant stay at this hotel and would highly recommend!
