Just back from 4 lovely nights stay at HM Mar Blau, with my two daughters. We arrived after midnight due to flight delay, check in was straight forward. We were in the first building (menorca) over looking the front of the hotel, it was lovely and quiet. The hotel is in a quiet location between two between two beautiful beaches. Cala millor is 10 mins walk and S.A. coma is 15-20 mins. The pool area was busy but could find a sunbed. We spent the day at the beach and the pool either first thing or late afternoon when it was quieter. There was some evening entertainment and the drinks were not too expensive. We stayed self catering. The kitchen is basic, borrowed a toaster from reception. The hotel has a well stocked shop for breakfast and lunch items and then we ate out for tea. Lots of lovely restaurants to choose from in Cala millor. We felt safe, comfortable and had a wonderful stay. We would definitely stay again.

We stayed at HM Mar Blau and overall I would rate it 3.5 out of 5 for the price we paid. First, the positives. The hotel is clean, housekeeping does a good job, and the staff work hard. The entertainment team also tries their best. I have no complaints about the employees. They are friendly and professional. However, we were disappointed with the food. We paid for All Inclusive, but the quality of the meals was not what we expected. Many dishes are very basic. Some food was undercooked – for example, one burger was still pink inside. Other dishes were overcooked. Many meals were bland and needed salt. It was also obvious that some items were frozen convenience foods that had simply been heated up. Paying for All Inclusive to eat processed frozen food does not feel like good value. There were no chicken nuggets for children. My son struggles to find something he likes to eat, and my husband often has the same problem. We have already decided to eat dinner outside the hotel on some evenings, and we regret booking All Inclusive. Another strange thing is the pool cups. There is no staff member collecting glasses around the pool area. Instead, guests have to pay a €1 deposit for each cup. The biggest disappointment was the pools. When we arrived, we were looking for the beautiful pool shown in the hotel photos. Eventually we realised that the photos are heavily edited. The large dracaena trees shown around the pool simply do not exist. The pool is also noticeably smaller than it appears in the promotional photos. In my opinion, the images have been digitally enhanced and create unrealistic expectations. The indoor pool is cold. This is not what most people expect from a spa pool. Usually indoor pools are heated. Even my children find it too cold, and my husband refuses to swim in it. Why not heat it to around 26–28°C, which is a normal temperature for an indoor pool? The outdoor pool is cold as well. The hotel gives the impression that management is trying to save money wherever possible. The staff work hard and do their best, but guests can clearly see where costs are being cut. Our holiday is not ruined. We are still enjoying Mallorca. However, we have stayed in cheaper hotels on the island where both the food and the pools were much better. One of the reasons I booked this hotel was because I expected a warm indoor pool and the beautiful large outdoor pool shown in the photos. Unfortunately, neither matched my expectations. If you are considering this hotel, I would recommend booking room only or bed and breakfast rather than All Inclusive. You may find better value eating elsewhere.
