As a disclaimer, I will say we ended up here as a mistake because the company we booked the holiday with screwed up the hotels, but I can honestly say without a doubt, that this was a very, very good mistake. Club Caleta Dorada was an absolute joy, located a quick 10 minute walk away from town and the beach. The atmosphere was perfect for a family holiday, I visited with my Mother and my 5 year old sister, so three different age ranges (my mother being in her 40s and me my 20s) and we all enjoyed it! Upon arrival, the reception staff were warm, friendly and very attentive. The room we had, C47 was immaculate, cleaners came every two days, and they were very kind and trustworthy. The room consisted of one living room type area with a sofa bed, one bedroom with 2 single beds and a bathroom. There is also a safe which I believe you can rent if you don't feel safe leaving your valuables, but we didn't and we were fine. the noise level was absolutely fine in our room. I assume that if you chose not to go to the pool bar in the evening you would be able to hear it, but considering we did, that wasn't an issue. I spent quite a few days just sitting on the patio reading a book and even during the day the noise wasn't a problem. Around the complex during the day there were many things to do, with (I think) 3 different pools, one in each block (A, B and C) as well as various activities such as water polo etc. The pool area in Block C is the bigger of the lot, with waterslides, a splash zone and children's pool, it was always very busy. The pool we favoured (In Block B) was a lot quieter, had a children's pool and a regular pool, which my sister jumped between every 5 minutes. There is also a games room and a children's area just underneath the Pool bar in Block C, which I admit we didn't use as we were always drawn to the pool. Next, the food and restaurant, considering that the Hotel itself only has 3 stars, the food was brilliant, every day there was something different and always plenty on offer. The staff were so warm, kind and welcoming, I would especially like to mention Maria and Mohammed. My sister took to Maria instantly, she was always coming up to her and making a fuss, giving her cuddles and whatnot, which she loved. Mohammed was always on the door and greeted my Mother and I with a smile and gave my sister fist bumps. The rest of the staff in the restaurant we also very good, always smiling and friendly, very quick to clear plates and then clean and re-lay the tables. Moving into the evening entertainment, in the pool bar within Block C (which was very conveniently just up the stairs from our room) The night starts off pretty quiet, with most guests eating in the restaurant, but the bar area soon began to fill up at around 7:30 to 8 O'Clock. Then at around 8:30 there would be a Children's Mini Disco, which of course, my sister absolutely loved. The lady who ran it (and I feel awful because I never asked her name, even though she walked past my room 3 or 4 times a day) was astonishingly brilliant with the Children. She would take the time to make sure that everyone on the stage was ready for the next song, make sure they were engaged and all having fun. This lady was another staff member that my Sister adored, even after the Mini Disco had finished she would stay and over-see the following act for that evening. She also made a point of walking around the bar one night and informing all of the children that there would be a Foam Party the following day, which my Sister then grumbled at my Mother at because that was the day we had to leave, so she couldn't go. So, to the Mini Disco Lady, I'm sorry that I didn't know your name to put in this review, but I hope it finds you anyway, yourself, Maria and Mohammed were incredible. The second half of the Evening was also very good, a different and unique act every night, from singers, to a singing, saxophone duo, to a soul and violin performance, each act over our time there was unique and different, and left the three of us looking forward to whatever was going to be on that evening for basically the whole day. So to summarize, we had a fantastic time on this holiday. The staff, especially Maria, 'Mini Disco Lady' and Mohammed were beyond brilliant. We will certainly be back!!!

Pleasantly surprised. Booked last minute and really enjoyed it. The resort is made up of single storey chalets. Needs some work but very clean. Not much in the area a few shops and bars couple of restaurants but ok. Beach is 10 minute walk down hill next to reception. Quite steep at top takes longer to walk back up. Weather was excellent very warm. There are several pool areas all quite nice two have snacks bars one just a fridge with sandwiches and a drinks machine. Food in the main restaurant was above and beyond. Asian food on Tuesday was some of the best I have had. Always something for everyone including vegetarian section. You will not go hungry. Only criticism food needs to be hotter Bit of a trek to main entertainment venue and the only place to get a drink in the evening. There is another bar that opens around 9.15 above the venue which is nice for cards or just to get away from the kids. Beach is nice but if you turn right along the prom you will see a cafe somewhere way up out in the water. The beach there is much nicer with soft sand and less rocks if you want to swim. Sunbeds 10.50 for 2 with parasol. Plenty of places to eat and drink along the prom. All staff are very friendly all in all a very nice place to visit. By the way. Footpaths are mainly black volcanic gravel and not good if you are wearing sandals or flip flops. There is a large market Tuesday and Saturday 5 minutes down towards beach. Unless you need a bag or baseball cap don't bother all stalls exactly the same knock off goods
