Had a fantastic stay at Hotel Chatur with my small family. The room was tidy and everything we needed although the air con was basically non-existent. The food was average at best but there was something for all of us whether it was breakfast, lunch or dinner. Small note was that there seemed to be a lack of clean, available cutlery at times, and some of the glasses provided were straight out of the dishwasher and hot which wasn't ideal when getting a nice cold drink with your meal. The choice of drinks in all inclusive is what you'd expect, with a very friendly bar staff. Entertainment wise, the daytime stuff in the pool area is fun, the evening stuff left a little to be desired though. As per every other hotel other pool area, you get selfish people reserving all of the sun loungers from very early, not a lot the staff at the hotel can do though. The location is good, just a short walk to the beach but if you're looking for a decent beach we found it was worth the 25 minute walk down to La Guirra where the sand is natural and the water is clear and calm. Also worth noting that the reception staff were exceptional, giving us good advice regarding the resort, arranging access to the courtesy room and luggage room without fuss and arranging a taxi for our transfer back home. Despite the official guidance that the all inclusive perks were removed at 12pm on the final day, we were able to make the most of them until we left at 4pm which made our final day there much more enjoyable and easy to navigate.

LOCATION: Absolutely spot on location wise, near to everything that you need. ATMOSPHERE: Good Atmosphere. Very Busy, obviously due to the 6 weeks holidays. ROOMS: The rooms are basic and quite dated, that said, they are cleaned regularly and in a reasonably good state of repair. The mattresses looked brand new and were very comfortable. The shower was absolutely brilliant! Very powerful and plenty of hot water. There is also a safe in the room, these also looked brand new. I think it was a couple of euros a day to hire. The downside was no fridge! Never known that not to be a thing. probably down to that it is an A.I Hotel. VALUE: Overall i found the Hotel to be reasonable value for money, no issues raised. NOISE LEVEL: It's a family hotel during the height of the season, so it was quite noisy at times, but this is expected. SERVICE: I simply can not fault any of the staff at this hotel, all worked tirelessly, from the reception staff, waiting staff, entertainers and cleaners. Great to see. It did, however annoy me that some guests didn't even attempt to clear up after themselves and left their tables messy, yes it is 'their job', but it doesn't harm clearing your table or at least leaving it in a reasonable state. FOOD: To be honest, I'm a vegetarian and i noted no main choices during dinner and evening meal service, however as i like to eat out in the evening, this wasn't an issue for me but my daughter ate in every day and enjoyed the food. However, should i have chosen to eat in, there was a large selection of cheeses, veg, salad, potatoes and i could've quite easily gotten by. I genuinely don't know why people have complained about the food, regardless of which service was on, there was always plenty of choices and looked reasonably presented. It certainly isn't 5 star, but i think people expect a 5 star service. OVERALL: Overall, it was a good stay and i was quite apprehensive initially due negative reviews left by past guests about this hotel, but take these with a pinch of salt, especially about the food. Is the hotel dated and in need of a lick of paint here and there? Yes, but it is kept clean by the hardworking staff and this makes up for it. One very big negative for me was that the gym is in a very poor state of repair with literally a couple of machines in working order and there were no free weights. This did put a slight dampener on the holiday as i like to train whilst away and it was a selling point for me. I do think that the owners need to invest in this area massively as the pictures paint a false image. Would i stay here again? If i visited Fuerteventura again, then it definitely would be a consideration.

I am at this hotel right now and after reading the reviews I felt I had to correct a few things. Firstly, it’s a 3 star plus, which is a 3 star in UK standards, so those expecting 4 stars and above will be disappointed. I would say this is a decent 3 star budget hotel and to be honest, it doesn’t pretend to be anything more. Food - again it’s 3 star standard; not brilliant but certainly not as bad as is made out in some of these reviews. Breakfast is standard fayer. The omelettes are decent. Lunch and dinner are ok; there is always something to eat. Always a meat and fish dish, vegetables, soup and salad. The mix might not always suit British pallets, but you won’t starve and if you do need to eat out, there are plenty of places to go. Drinks - Again, pretty decent. Local spirits and Amstel on draft. There is a selection of pre-mixed cocktails on the AI menu too. Soft drinks and beer are self service during the day and in the restaurant, along with red and white wine and sangria. Pool - it is chaos; you’ll need to be down early for an umbrella and the beds are three deep at some areas. There are plenty of shades seating areas if that’s not your thing. Grounds - Spotless. There are reviews noting flaking paint; there are a few areas but it shouldn’t spoil your holiday! Lifts - Yes, this is a problem, there are 5 in total; one doesn’t work and one keeps breaking down; not an issue if you are able bodied as you can walk to the other side of the building, but as the building is stepped there are a few sets of stairs to deal with, so disabled, hard of walking and buggy users may have problems. Rooms - They do the job, twin beds with memory foam mattresses, couch, dressing table and a patio set on the balcony. Possibly not the most modern rooms, but again, it’s a 3 star hotel. There’s no fridge, which isn’t a deal breaker as you can get cold water from the machines 24/7. You need to hire the tv remote, but that says more about the clientele than the hotel; never hired one so don’t know what channels are available, but WiFi is excellent so you can stream. Air con is good, it does its job as it gets very cold! We did have an issue with ants, but they came up and cleaned cabs sprayed the room no bother. Staff - On the whole pleasant and helpful. In summary, please, please ignore the bad reviews; they clearly expected way too much from a 3 star hotel. Caleta de Fuste is a lovely resort so don’t spend all your time in the hotel; get out and about. It’s a cheap and cheerful family friendly resort which caters for more than Brits, so come along and enjoy it and don’t worry about dubious reviews on here.
