I booked a 3 day stay at FuerteVillage in February 2024 to celebrate our anniversary. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the very friendly reception team and taken to our accommodation. I must say we were completely blown away by the sheer size of the suite. The lady from reception showed us the main living area which was well appointed with a kitchen, dining area, living area and a spiral staircase. We assumed this was it and that the bedroom would be up the stairs, but we were wrong! Next, we were taken through the patio doors into our own private courtyard with sun loungers and an outside shower. We were really impressed but then we were taken through another set of patio doors and shown the main bedroom which was a great size and had all the amenities you would require. We were then taken on past the bedroom where there was a large bathroom and two utility rooms. Wow! We were very impressed and then wondered what would be upstairs! We were taken up and shown a private sunbathing deck with sun loungers and a big circular outdoor bed. There was also a small corridor which lead to another bedroom if we had guests over! All in all we had great service at a great location. It's well run by a friendly team and the attention to detail is second to none. Would happily give it a 6 star rating if it was possible :)

“One of the best places we’ve stayed!”

We loved our week here, it ticked all the boxes-suites are amazingly spacious, clean and well equipped. Having breakfast delivered to our suite every morning was an added bonus. We loved our week here, it ticked all the boxes-suites are amazingly spacious, clean and well equipped. Having breakfast delivered to our suite every morning was an added bonus. The sun terrace was bathed in sunshine until around 6pm even in February and was a relaxing place to be. We enjoyed lovely walks along some stunning beaches every morning and the odd beer/wine at the local beach bar in the afternoon. Would highly recommend FuerteVillage Suites…our only regret was we wish we could have stayed longer!

We would go back for sure. We started our experience by calling Johanna to get last minute directions once we landed and picked up our rental car (expect a line but important to have your own car in our opinion) Johanna was very helpful and detailed. Once we arrived we were incredibly happy with our room as it looked exactly like some of the pictures. The rooms are varied. The upstairs patio view is not a sunset view - for sure not from our room . The round patio chair that you see in the pictures is where we spent every evening enjoying the beautiful breeze in the evening wrapped in blankets and watching a show or looking at the stars. The morning was an ocean view and a sun trap . We had a welcome package with some snacks and wine and a quick tour of the place. We are fairly chill people and easy to serve - that said we also appreciate all the little touches that were available . Rooms are neat, clean and have a ton of light. The bedroom is a completely separated room with the washrooms that can be darkened with a huge blind over the floor to ceiling glass windows and sliding door. Washrooms which included 2 toilets , shower, 2 sinks and washing machine! Super spacious and filled with toiletries and towels. We made our meals about half the time and had leftovers from our restaurant visits. The kitchen is complete and easy to cook in. Cleaning supplies for dishes and laundry all provided - if you need more just ask the INCREDIBLY LOVELY women that worked each day. We didn't ask for much and we also told them, when we got there, that we wouldn't need our room cleaned the every second day that they do. We did ask for paper towel when we ran out , a couple more laundry pods and a different beach towel which were given to us right away. The bedroom was spacious with TONS of storage with a huge built in closet and drawers. Ikea style storage. Was fantastic. If we wanted to go anywhere in particular the team gave us excellent detailed suggestions. There is a Sunday Market (close by car) - food and local vendors - much bigger than I expected. (If you are into markets - at the Wildlife Oasis Zoo and Gardens) The Zoo was huge - if you are into zoos - but we wanted to see the gardens which are beautiful. Kind of like you are in a Dr Seuss story. Incredible cactus and Aloe plants. Way bigger than expected - but you do have to go through the Zoo to get to the gardens. I would have liked to do just the gardens again. The price is 38 euros per person - totally worth it in my opinion. I would pay that just for the gardens or the zoo. (but is approx. a 4 hour walk through - longer if you want to stay and sit and take it in) Consider - this is their Winter - was cloudy a bit of rain and of course sunny breaks. The last three days were very sunny. Bring sweaters and jackets during this month - we were prepared. Still got up to 24 on some days - did get some colour . The most incredible beach - Sotovento - is in walking distance - approx 15 minutes to one end of the beach - you can also drive easily to the other end - massive, massive beach with sand bars and tides coming in so is different each day we went. Also on the way is also closer beautiful beaches all in coves. While walking to Sotovento you are walking by the ocean high up on rocky terrain (which is Fuerteventura) There are green palm trees and foliage around the hotels and only very small ground cover plants that you are walking around. You can climb mountains which are easy to climb up with incredible views. Sandy and rocky - must have proper footwear. We are also fairly close (15 minute drive ) to Morro Jable - another incredible beach - HUGE super long with restaurants and board walk and shops - on one side and then down in the town you can sit right by the ocean at one of the many cafes or restaurants. We hit many spots except one quarter of the island. There are also many look out points around - but you would need to drive to them. We are there for the beaches but we also visited an Aloe Vera Farm, a sea salt museum and a goat farm (the cheese is delicious), went to climb some mountains which were incredibly rocky (need good shoes) The Sand Dunes National park is a must see but on the other end of the Island - we did some driving during this trip to see many different towns - The sand dunes are completely worth the hour plus drive. Unreal spot - just sand every where. Started to rain about an hour half into our enjoyment and went to Correlejo which is the town - very busy more shops and more restaurants. Meh.... but the DUNES are not to be believed. Would come back for sure - we are in Canada so the travel was long from Montreal to Lisbon to the Island. We stopped in Lisbon both directions. Make sure to take a good look around in Costa Calma to see all they have to offer for restaurants and the beaches. Lovely beach also and many different restaurants. We went to several - one is Pasta Pasion (when we didn't have fish or goat the one or two times - because that is also why we are there) Homemade pasta to eat in or take out. Delicious! The team at Fuertes Village Suites so helpful and lovely, we would recommend this spot absolutely. We also much preferred this experience to a hotel and most likely because of the people working there. We asked for very little but we knew it was available if we needed. We also were able to print out boarding passes with them or they would print out directions to things. We would come back perhaps during April / May - we did miss the everyday sun. “Disappointing”

Two years previously we enjoyed a fortnights stay at FuerteVillage, We booked again with the exact same company ( Secret escapes) and we booked exactly the same villa as previously. This time we were celebrating my husband’s 60th birthday, my birthday and Valentine’s Day. When we arrived the villa was as we remembered, but the doors to the main bedroom were locked. This main bedroom has a wonderful sea view out of a bay window and it has a large king size bed. My husband went to ask the staff who said if we wanted two rooms we had to pay an extra €50 a night. This seemed strange as we had booked exactly the same as before when we had 2 rooms. It is preferable for us to have two rooms as my husband suffers with sleep apnea and has to use a CPAP mask every night. He finds it highly claustrophobic so often removes it consciously or unconsciously whilst sleeping. Without the mask neither of us sleeps so a spare room is perfect for one of us to go into. Additionally the downstairs room we were allocated has two single beds, no view and is, in my opinion, the inferior of the two rooms. I asked the ladies on reception if we could swap to the other bedroom, no that wasn’t possible. They did agree to change the bed to a king size the next time the twice weekly cleaning session was in progress. Reception staff said they needed to cut costs, hence the one room, they said they had to cut back in cleaning. This is odd telling me, a paying customer who is helping out the financial difficulties.! They said to bring proof of booking. My husband had booked it on his work email on his laptop, he hadn’t brought it and due to the demands of his job he doesn’t get work emails on his phone. On arriving home we checked, we’d booked a villa suite which states it is two bedroomed. There were other niggles, the safety deposit box in the bedroom didn’t work and one sink wouldn’t drain and kept gurgling through the night. I cannot understand why they couldn’t simply have allowed us access to the main room and locked the other rather than changing the bed round and coming to help us with the safety deposit box. Overall we had a nice time but I feel the staff were very mean spirited and they’ve certainly lost two return customers.
