For the South end of Fuerte' this is the best Adults only hotel to stay at. Peaceful, no pool party's, boom boxes or rowdies. In a nutshell, this is a European hotel frequented by Europeans (mostly) of more older demographic ( 45 + ). You will not find chips, burgers, sausages or curry much on the menu here. The restaurant would easily pass the 5 rating ala' UK establishments. There is a wide variety each day of menu choices from the grill and serving stations. Breakfast also has many wide offerings with even a free glass of Cava available for those just on half board. All staff were very helpful, friendly and professional. I got up early most days to witness the pool cleaning team, gardeners and house keeping going about their duties. The location is a good walk/drive to any sort of night life or shopping. A SPA shop is about 15 minutes walk North if you need supplies. There is on site evening entertainment which finishes at 10:30 pm. Expect various entertainments with the standard "Euro disco cheese-fest" every third night. Esmerelda Beach North is just a short walk out of the hotels back gate. Or turn right out the gate and walk ten minutes to Esmerelda beach South with its much bigger beach and stone circles. Soft sand and slowly shelving into deeper water made it good for swimming. Be advised that both these beaches are clothing optional beaches. A few "certain guests" we spoke to were appalled at this despite the rest of the beach paid no attention. In 14 days stay, there were beach people nude but certainly not lewd. Costa Calma beach (turn left out of the gate) is considered more textile or topless only. As stated, this is a European Hotel with European beaches. There are (unofficial) friendly cats at this hotel. They have been "snipped & dipped" and are regularly checked by a vet. The majority stay on the lower levels with only one small tabby allowed on the veranda. Her purpose there keeps a rather cheeky seagull from stealing leftovers. No animals are allowed in the indoor dining area. Another advantage of these feline "guests" is that we never saw any creepy crawlies especially la cucaracha. Location & Accessibility This beautiful hotel is in a very quiet spot. There isn’t anything really close by apart from the beach with its snack bar but this suited us as we had come for some rest and relaxation. It took just over an hour to reach the hotel from the airport. There aren’t any shops nearby but there are some shops within the hotel itself selling toiletries, medicines and other essentials, plus newspapers, magazines, snacks, souvenirs and even clothes. Handy if you’ve forgotten anything! The Rooms & Comfort The hotel was absolutely spotless and the staff were constantly cleaning the public areas and restocking the bars. Our room was beautiful, really spacious with huge comfy beds and a stunning view of the pool and sea from the roomy balcony. The only noise was from the pool bar entertainment, which went on until about 10.30pm but this had usually finished before we went back to the room at night. We were in the main building on floor 2 which was really handy for everything, just a short stroll to the restaurant, bars and pool. Service & Staff The check-in process was quite lengthy with various digital forms to read and sign but the staff were very cheerful, helpful and friendly. We were issued with a pool towel each and a glass of sparkling wine which was a lovely touch. One thing we were really pleased with was that they let you keep your wristbands on even after you’ve checked out on the last day so that you can still get drinks and meals until you leave. We’ve been to some hotels where they snip them off at breakfast! Facilities & Amenities The pool was gorgeous, huge, warm, clean and never crowded. There was a really safe step with handlebars going down into the pool which was excellent for anyone with mobility issues. The indoor spa pool was warm, clean and just altogether lovely. We had a look at the gym on our first day and although we didn’t use it, it looked quite well equipped. The WiFi was easy to connect to and extremely reliable while we were there. We had no problems watching the football on our iPad in the evenings. Food & Drink We were on an all-inclusive basis and were both very happy with the choice and quality of food and drink on offer. I don’t drink alcohol so was really pleased with the range of delicious non-alcoholic cocktails, while my husband on the other hand was thrilled with the huge measures of Jack Daniel’s! Our favourite servers were Flavia, Facundo and Jose, who quickly learned how we liked our drinks and kept us well supplied! The food in the buffet was delicious and there was always a huge choice. We never had to queue for anything as some people have said in other reviews. I really enjoyed having such a huge variety of fruit and vegetables available every meal whereas my husband loves his meat. There wasn’t a single day when we weren’t spoiled for choice! There’s also delicious food available at the pool bar, not just snacks but full meals. Everything we tried was lovely, especially the huge portions of nachos with all the trimmings! Value & Verdict In our opinion, this was a fabulous hotel and one that we would definitely return to. We were made to feel very welcome by everyone. The staff just could not do enough for you and we thoroughly enjoyed our wonderful stay. Most of the people staying here seemed to be couples in their 50s upwards although there were some much younger people there too, who seemed to be happily enjoying their stay. This suited us as like I said, we had gone to chill out so we liked the peaceful atmosphere. There was some excellent daytime entertainment (we very much enjoyed the sangria making lesson) but there was absolutely no pressure to take part in any of the more energetic activities. One thing we really liked was that there were always plenty of comfortable places to sit if you wanted to read or watch something on your iPad. It was never too crowded. We don’t use sunbeds but we could have if we wanted to as there were always plenty of spares. One thing I would have liked would have been some parasols on the veranda outside the Blue Bar as it was often too hot for me to sit there even in May (I’m ginger!) but I can understand why they don’t put them there as it would have spoiled the magnificent view. However, there was always plenty of shade in the pool bar or at Mike’s Coffee Shop. All in all, we had a wonderful stay and we would not hesitate to return.

Stayed at H10 Playa Esmeralda for one week from 8th to 15th May. Following a number of years not being able to get away for a holiday I picked this hotel purely for its reputation of being a quiet and relaxing destination. It met and easily surpassed my expectations. Stayed in Block C, top floor room 1510 as a Privilege guest with a pretty much unobstructed view of the sea and beaches. Room was kept spotlessly clean by housekeeping and had a super comfortable bed. A mini bar that was re-stocked daily, dressing gowns with slippers in the bathroom. An evening turn down service with a little box of Lindor chocolates left on one of the many pillows, which was a nice touch. Dined in all the restaurants: Main Jandia Buffet restaurant, not as big a selection as others I’ve been to but nevertheless good quality, tasty and plenty of what there was. Meats and Fish all cooked to order at the counter. Stromboli Italian restaurant was very good, table service, order by QR code or from printed menu. The Salmon Lasagne was great. But, by far the best, in my opinion was the Privilege restaurant El Jable, superb food great selection with daily specials, professionally presented and served by friendly, attentive staff. Breakfast I took solely in El Jabel. Good selection of cereal, fruit, cold meats, cheeses and smoked salmon to help yourself to, hot breakfasts cooked to order. Lunches taken at pool snack bar which offered a varied selection of light snacks and bigger meals, burger and chips etc. Didn’t leave hotel, except for going down to the beach a few times. Poolside never an issue in getting a sunbed, no early morning sunbed wars here I’m pleased to say. Ambience around the pool is peaceful, no music, no reps trying to sell you trips or Spa treatments etc. Beach is amazing very clean with a powdery golden sand. Sunbeds and parasols can be rented at 5 Euro each for the day. I was aware that it’s clothes optional beach with I would say at a 50/50 (swimsuited/nude) split all mixed in together. Steps back up from beach do take a bit of effort. I’m approaching mid 60’s and reasonably fit but did find myself a bit out of puff by the time I got to the top. However, I did find a slightly easier route; Leave the hotel and go down first set of steps then veer to the right and head towards a small white cabin, it’s roughish ground but flat. There is another set of stairs there which are much gentler. Wanted to get a massage at the Spa just top off a relaxing week but left it too late and were fully booked, so I would suggest getting yourself booked in as soon as you arrive if only staying for a week. All in all I had a fantastic week at the H10 Playa Esmeralda. Great friendly, happy and attentive staff throughout. A mixed selection of guest nationalities. I went as a solo traveller everyone so friendly and up for a chat, guests and staff alike. Met some great people. Consider upgrading to Privilege, in my opinion it’s worth every penny. Can't wait to return, already looking to book again for next year but for a longer stay :)

This was our first adult only holiday and certainly didn't let us down ! This hotel is beautiful! Everything was clean and lovely, our room was gorgeous over looking sea . The staff couldn't help enough. Wasn't the biggest selection of buffet counters I have ever seen but my goodness the food taste was out standing!! The cheese sauce was insane !! We never went hungry a great selection every meal time . No racing for sunbeds there were plenty . The weather was fantastic and quite honestly thank god for the cool breeze . The drinks were all premium and served in the hotel in the most lovely glasses . The staff honestly couldn't do enough and the cleaners always full of smiles and friendly. I honestly would say this is hands down the most beautiful, friendly and chilled out restful place ever !! Can't wait to go back !! Thank you for a lovely week ♥
