Very spacious large hotel, 2nd to last at Costa Calma so slightly out of the main area. Not a problem as there is nothing in the 'town'. Very spacious large hotel, 2nd to last at Costa Calma so slightly out of the main area. Not a problem as there is nothing in the 'town'. Reception on 4th floor, buffet, restaurants, entertainment on 3rd floor, stairs, steps, walkways and lifts to '2nd'floor with 2 pools, baby pool, and privilege pool. There is a pool cafe for drinks, and snacks after 1pm. An observation, not enough pool staff for waiters to go around pool for drinks orders, nor to collect finished drinks, Then down to exit to more steps to the lovely yellow sand beach. Your wrist band is your key so no chance of losing it. I suggest all inclusive is necessary as there are no eateries, cafes, shops nearby. Taxi to 'town' is 5E. I upgraded to superior sea view room for 200E and it was worth it. Larger room, sunny balcony, and usually on higher floor. The body milk in the bathroom is brilliant, you won't need after sun cream. Safe is extra 10E. Room 654 is on top floor right opposite the lift. The buffet is the same as anywhere on the continent, and they make english pancakes at breakfast. There is a water station in the restaurant,4 help yourself coffee machines (the strength of coffee in each one is different), I liked the one when you entered, on the left. I was supplied with 2 bottles of water on arrival, which were not renewed. 2 shops on the 3rd floor (one was open only 2 days while I was there). Very clean hotel, staff pleasant. Because of the physical size of the hotel it never felt full, many areas just to sit, in and out. Check out the beach, it's lovely, and you can walk to the next much bigger beach, nearer the town, and during low tide you can walk there in the water. All in all first class,

The staff at the hotel were so helpful and lovely, and the location is absolutely beautiful. There is so much to do, especially if you have children. Nearby, there are shopping malls with plenty of shops and it isn't that far of a walk neither. The views are breathtaking, especially the sea, and the salt water pool was especially lovely. Pool areas were immaculate and well kept, which was excellent. The food was really nice too and plenty of drinks. We had an absolutely amazing holiday and so it really pains me to mention any negatives. What I would say however is... The rooms are "clean" and I maybe have standards that are too high, but. If you're what I would call a "spotless" person, you may not be satisfied. The bathroom had hair and gunk in the crevices in the shower tray, and alongside the shower tray. There was also green gunk underneath the tap handles. The doors in the bathroom were also very dusty and hairy. The bathroom just didn't feel clean clean to me. Bedding was immaculate, and the rest of the room was clean and tidy but I do feel the rooms could do with what I'd call a deep clean, especially the bathrooms. It wasn't great to arrive to a room which didn't instantly hit me with that clean, fresh feeling and smell on holiday. We had a plumbing issue with our first room (these things happen) which was resolved very quickly, and staff were excellent, but the second room which was an upgrade to a suite also had a less than spotless bathroom (black gunk in crevices in shower tray and along the outside.) I wouldn't have mentioned the cleanliness in my review had it also not been the case in the second room, but I have done so because I feel somebody paying so much for a suite should know this before they choose this hotel. So it is " surface clean" yes, but not if you're a very clean person, no. I have stayed in other hotels in the past with a similar level of cleanliness and I know cleaners have very limited time and they work very hard, but for a 4 star hotel I have to remember that if I stayed in a Travellodge in the UK, I'd likely have mentioned it just the same. Overall we had an excellent stay, and would return if we were to go to the same places twice (we don't), and I do recommend the hotel. I just feel the rooms could benefit from a deep clean, particularly the bathrooms, as some guests may not mention it for not wanting to cause a fuss. Thank you for such a lovely stay, we have had such a great time. Ps, there is a lovely little cat who walks along the sea front/pathway if anybody could leave him a little bowl of water in a shaded bush😁

“So much potential but far from 4*”

It depends what you expect from a 4* but for us, it’s lacking in so many aspects…. Grounds are lovely, great pools with slides for kids, thoughtful activities such as paddle or mini golf for cold days… But…. Hotel is under staffed for the volume of guests it has…. It depends what you expect from a 4* but for us, it’s lacking in so many aspects…. Grounds are lovely, great pools with slides for kids, thoughtful activities such as paddle or mini golf for cold days… But…. Hotel is under staffed for the volume of guests it has…. Long queues for drinks from the beach bar, only 1 bar available during the day and 1 at night… goodness knows what it would be like at peak season Food is mediocre for a 4*… tinned fruit, lack of salad variety, food luke warm and not replenished quick enough for the volume of guests Dinning room dirty due to being understaffed, plates not cleared, no knives and forks… Lots of flies! Over food, appreciate the staff can’t do much about that but off putting when buzzing all over the food! You expect some self serve at a hotel but everything in this hotel is self serve. Not what you expect from a 4*… Pool towels can only be changed once a week.. You have to book your time to go to dinner each night in the main restaurant and if you turn up 5 mins early be prepared to be asked to wait! No water in your room, extra charge; teas and coffee in your room extra charge, safe box extra charge Feels this hotel is cost cutting in every area at the expense of the customer experience It’s a shame, as lots going for it but not the same experience we have received in other 4*
