“Fab food, fab hotel but entertainment team let is down”

Just returned from 10 day stay, 2 adults 1 child. Thoroughly enjoyed our time here despite some previous negative reviews but they are peoples own views here is mine.. Location - approx 1hr45 from airport, Jet2 drop offs on the way which made the journey longer but an hours journey without. Hotel has many steep hills walk ways, from accommodation, pools to main restaurant but does warn about those who have accessibility issues. There’s nothing much near hotel other than a Mercadona supermarket. We went into Jandia shopping area couple of times €10-12 each way in taxi or you can get a bus. Restaurants- Food Market great variety typical AI options but many chefs cooking food fresh which was great, food always hot and fresh. Someone previously referred it to school dinners which is aan insult , all food is presented lovely and if you take the last spoonful of scrambled egg of course it will be cold . Pick your food wisely with new hot food being served you cant go wrong. Childrens options is just the normal AI didnt see chicken nuggets often but plenty to choose from. Sorocco restaurant for lunch is lovely normal salads, hot dogs, burgers , pizza, pasta and deserts. Pool Areas- Pirate pool is heated, the other pool is not however once your body adapts to the fresh water it is quite refreshing and not crowded. The reserving of sun beds got earlier and earlier each day. I don’t like the getting up early to put a towel down but if you dont then you have no where to sun bathe unfortunately you dont have a choice. The staff do try and source sun beds for you if you dont have any. Some people were reserving beds and not seen for few hours , some all day i think the hotel need to remove these towels its unfair to w all day and not use them ! Rooms - lovely and clean, shout out to our housekeeper Mercedes , she left chocolates for my son and he left notes in Spanish thanking her, she wrote back was lovely we got to see her on our last day, good amenities, hair dryer is great and location for us 8111 1min to both pools. Reception - Staff need more training for customer service, on arrival the reception lady checking us in then proceeded to serve 3 other guests for 3 different issues, after arriving from 4 hr flight, 1:45hr bus journey to be the only check in it took far too long ! Late check out - they tell you to check the day before, we checked 9.30 told to come back 10am when the boss was there?!? came back at 10am no late check out possible, no curtesy room to shower or use! I find this difficult to believe as we didn't arrive until 9pm on our first fay and we wouldn't have been the only guests with evening arrivals giving rooms availability to guests at least until 6pm. We used the toilets to change and freshen up ! Entertainment - this is the biggest let down for the hotel! The first night was a team Bravo performance, seen better at a childrens dance school. Some external acts were ok, but for UK people a Pontins / Haven entertainment could have done better. The Bravo staff speak everything in Spanish, German, French, very rarely in English! The mini disco isnt great again language is occasional English. The bravo team do speak English and choose not to, we were there 10 days not one of them greeted you with hello, good morning when they passed by. BUT If you were Spanish or Italian or French then they were your best mate! Apart from standing in huddles joking around woth each other it was like a youth club , on their phones constantly and playing music over the speaker of THEIR choice, i think the hotel would be better without them. The lifeguards were also ignorant, and paid to do nothing, checking each others tattoos out and on their phones constant another worthless service to the hotel! Beach - beautiful, you could be in the Caribbean with crystal blue waters. All in all the hotel is lovely we had a great time, however we will not return, the hotel needs to look at the entertainment team and the unprofessionalism of their staff who cant be courteous to the guests is a poor show !

We had a really lovely stay overall and were incredibly lucky with the weather - a full week in April with absolutely no wind, which felt almost unheard of for Fuerteventura. Whether that’s due to the hotel’s positioning or just good fortune, it made a big difference to our trip. We travelled as a large family group - six adults and five children - and there were definitely some highlights. The heated pool was fantastic and very well used by the children, especially on the hotter days. The pirate ship pool was also a huge hit with the younger ones. The main large pool is visually beautiful, but unfortunately far too cold to be usable most days, which meant it was largely empty. The hotel itself is visually stunning. The lobby is gorgeous, and the grounds are well maintained and attractive. However, it is very hilly, which made things quite difficult for our elderly parents. There are buggies available, but they only carry one person at a time and often involve long waits, which isn’t very practical for couples or those with mobility issues. The rooms were lovely - clean, comfortable, and no issues there at all. The food was also good: varied, good quality, and generally what you’d expect from an all-inclusive. However, there were some notable drawbacks. The biggest disappointment for us was the entertainment. Compared to other nearby hotels - particularly Occidental Jandia Mar - it was extremely poor. In other hotels, the entertainment has been a real highlight that the children remember for years. Here, it felt very underwhelming and not up to standard. Despite beautiful evening weather, entertainment was held indoors rather than using the outdoor stage, which felt like a missed opportunity. External performers were brought in, but the quality was noticeably below (almost embarrassingly so) to what we’ve experienced elsewhere. It was disappointing enough that we ended up playing card games in the lobby most evenings, which is not something we would usually choose to do on holiday. In hindsight, I wish we had checked reviews on this aspect more carefully. Dining was another area where the hotel fell short. While the food itself was good, the format was quite restrictive. There is essentially no casual dining - no poolside snacks, no beachside food options, and no ability to take food out of the buffet. You are required to go into the main restaurant, properly dressed, even at lunchtime. There were only a handful of outdoor tables available at dinner, and these were in a walkway with constant foot traffic. For a family holiday, we really missed the flexibility of grabbing something simple like chips, burgers, or light bites by the pool or beach. The most concerning issue, however, was the staffing. It was very clear that the hotel is understaffed. The waiting staff in the buffet restaurant appeared overworked and often came across as unhappy and rushed. The same applied to the pool bar staff, who looked visibly stressed and overwhelmed. Reception was similar - aside from one standout staff member, Stephanie, who was excellent, most interactions felt disorganised. Requests were forgotten, and on one occasion we were even called back and asked to repeat what we had originally asked for. This is not something you would expect at a hotel of this level. The towel system was also poorly managed. Towels require a €30 deposit each, and you are only given one paper token per person to exchange them during your stay. Any additional changes require negotiation with reception, which is impractical for families, especially after beach use when towels are clearly dirty. Overall, this is a beautiful hotel with great potential. However, the day-to-day running feels very budget-focused, and this impacts the experience in several key areas. While we did enjoy our stay, it didn’t quite meet the standard of other nearby hotels, and these are things we would look into more carefully when booking in future.

Just back from 10 days at the Fuerteventura Princess. It was a last minute booking after our initial trip to Dubai was cancelled. I was a bit unsure about the hotel after reading some of the reviews but just wanted to find some sun. We've had a good 10 days. Food has been great even for my fussy 5 year old. Chips, nuggets, pizza and pasta available at all meals. Pools have been fab. The pirate ship pool is nice and shallow for infants and the bigger child's pool is walk in so has a depth to suit all abilities. Our first few days were during school hols so sunbeds were hard to come by but last few days have been a lot quieter. Great access to a lovely beach and grounds are stunning. We were in block 6 which was ideal for pool and main restaurant. As a single mum of 2 there is one thing that I need to save my sanity - a good kids club and unfortunately this is where the hotel falls short. We went along on the first day after checking the agenda on the app expecting a superhero theme. All that was on offer was colouring in, supervised by a grumpy team member who sat on his phone. When my daughter asked for another piece of paper she was told no. Every day has been the exact same - colouring in or painting. No Olympics, rocket making, games, etc that are all on the app. Just colouring in. My kids never went back after the first morning. Such a shame as there are lots of children in the hotel and I can't be the only parent who looks for a kids club to help their kids find friends and keep busy. We unfortunately had 4 days of bad weather so a kids club would have been perfect to help pass the day but they need to be a bit more creative with activities. They seem to have a large animation team but I don't know where they go during the day. Aqua aerobics and french bowls were good for adults. Unfortunately, lack of kids club would put me off returning but the hotel would be perfect for couples or families with older children.
