We’ve stayed here twice now and it is just excellent. My wife and I are golfers and the nearby Buenavista course, designed by Seve, is fabulous on a stunning location 10 minutes from the hotel in Los Silos. There were quite a few hikers staying also. Warm and amusing reception from Alonso. This time we stayed half board for four nights which included a three course meal each evening. The food is good and the service is top notch. The staff are the happiest bunch I’ve seen in a long time - which says a lot for the management of the hotel. Our room was comfortable as was the bed. Great swimming pool which my wife did her laps in each morning. I hope we get back. Ray Stewart

“Lovely hotel, great stay, highly recommended”

Hotel is great. Room we had was a suite, very spacious, clean, with two balconies with nice sea views and a nice hotel pool just a few meters away. Staff is very welcoming and helpful. Hotel is great. Room we had was a suite, very spacious, clean, with two balconies with nice sea views and a nice hotel pool just a few meters away. Staff is very welcoming and helpful. Hotel is located at a nice quiet spot, not too touristy, easily accesible, and a short drive (15min) from a lovely town of Garachico. I warmly recomend staying at this hotel, we loved it.

A well chosen hotel by Travel Counsellor, Kim Ward, who picked this hotel for us a we wanted something preferably child free (not totally it was Xmas and there was one small family), away rom the “crowds” and in an area that has some culture. We nearly got all three. This is a hikers hotel. We do not enjoy this type of recreation so we enjoyed visiting other villages and towns within easy drive or if you prefer electric bike ride, an experience that we thoroughly enjoyed as a first time to this particular type of transport. It makes cycling so much more enjoyable especially if like me you have walking issues due to hip and joint issues. The hotel was very clean and staff so friendly and apparently happy. Yes it is 95% German but even though we did not speak the language many of the clients speak good English and it gave me the opportunity to try out both German and Spanish (think you Google!!). My only issue perhaps an update in the bathroom(s) and a slightly larger eating area? The pool, that we did make very good use of was very good, clean and a very good size. plenty of beds but maybe a few more umbrellas. We’d been told temperatures may be colder, we had 22-27 degC the whole week. It is cooler in the evening. But still T shirt warm. The local town is about a 20-30 minute walk where there are few cafes and eating places. There is nothing immediately close by but the hotel has excellent food and we had a small kitchenette in our room if we fancied a change. The hotel is about an hour and thirty minutes drive from the airport, south, due to the climb through the mountains. The views however are amazing. If your prepared to wander or just chill having looked for heat and short distance then this is an option for you.

only for people with good mobility. Our first issue was the climb to our room, 95 steps, which is the equivalent of 7 floors. Yes our bags were delivered but we still had to do the climb every time we came back to the hotel (only 60 steps from the restaurant & pool). The room was great, the pool is great, the gardens are great, but to be blunt it's very dull. No kind of entertainment at all. No English TV channels, yet there are at least 6 German channels. But the biggest gripe for me was the bar being closed in the evening. The publicity photos show a welcoming friendly bar to enjoy a drink after dinner, but it was closed. I asked the waiter if it was going to open, 'no' his one word answer. 'Never?' I asked, 'no' his complete response. On our way out we mentioned it to the man on reception, and he said it should be open, and started to phone someone. But we asked him not to bother, who wants to go in an empty bar that they've had to open specially. However there is a friendly locals bar 200m up the road, so not a complete disaster. Cocktails by the pool were delicious but €7.50 each, bottled water is extortionate at €3.30. Breakfast is OK but again geared to Germans, so don't expect a full English. Eggs 4 ways (boiled 5 mins, 8 mins, fried and scrambled) but no bacon or beans etc. In summary, a decent hotel, catering to Spanish and Germans guests with good mobility. Think twice if you want a more 'fun' hotel, and definitely not child friendly (no kids pool, no swings or playthings etc)
