We booked knowing it was a three star review so didn’t expect much, however we were so pleasantly surprised. The staff were so kind, friendly and hardworking. The room we stayed in was spacious and clean, the beds were comfy and the shower was great. We had a room with a balcony looking over the pool, it was so nice to sit and relax on in the evening and I thought it was the perfect size. The food was incredible we looked forward to every meal each day, it became a little repetitive however we were there for 7 nights so that not on the hotel at all. What I really liked was that there was always a pizza and pasta option, which gave me reassurance. The favour on the food was unreal, it was always cooked perfectly and there was quite a bit to choose from (my boyfriend specifically loved the amount of different desserts). We booked all inclusive which was easiest for us, and we are so glad we did so we got to enjoy more of the food. The pool was chilly when you first get in but once you got used to it the temperature was perfect, very refreshing after sitting in the sun. The beach is only a 10 minute walk away with a supermarket being 5 however there was a shop on site with everything we needed so didn’t need to venture unless we wanted to. With the food bar at the pool often there wasn’t a member of staff with, but if you asked they would come straight away which we personally didn’t have an issue with. The pool area was always clean and tidy, seeing the staff work so hard to tidy it up at the end of the day!! We heard the music late only one of the nights we stayed, but again this is something we are not bothered by it’s part of the experience. The one thing that stood out to us the most was the staff, you could tell how hardworking they are and the kindness we truly appreciated. I definitely think it’s a great value of money we got everything we could need as well as food when we arrived as it was late at night, this little detail was so appreciated. Sometimes on holiday it can be a tense atmosphere but I’ve never felt so relaxed as I did here. Let’s just say we will 100% be coming back next year, this hotel deserves more than 3 stars.

“First time in Playa Blanca”

Excellent stay at the THB Royal, fantastic location, 10/15 mins walk takes you to the beach, turn left for the Marina with its restaurants & shops or turn right which takes you into the town with its array of restaurants/ bars and shops. The hotel itself is lovely, beautiful grounds, two large swimming pools, 2 small kids pools. We were in a Junior Suite with Pool View, two large balconies, one with table & chairs the other with sun loungers (perfect for catching some late afternoon sun). We arrived on 5th June & stayed on a half board basis. On arrival around 8.45pm the restaurant was still open so we were able to get food & drink. The hotel did have the all-inclusive option, which from a food perspective, glad we didn't opt for this as the restaurant was open from 12 - 2pm for lunch then it closed and only had a truck serving crepes & hot dogs (after 3.30pm) so if you aren't a fan of crepes & hotdogs there wasn't anything else available from an all-inclusive perspective apart from alcohol or soft drinks/tea & coffee. There were two pool bars, one which was open but the pool bar at the top pool was never open when we were there, which was disappointing, if you wanted a drink you had to walk down to the other pool bar. There was a Pizzeria/Restaurant upstairs, however this was never open during the day & only open at night for drinks. There was a super little mini-market on site which sold basically everything so we just got our drink from there (very cheap). The food was excellent, something for everyone (and we're fussy eaters) different show dishes each night which we even tried. The staff were friendly enough & the rooms were cleaned every second day. On our departure day, rooms had to be vacated by 12noon. There is a luggage store & even 4 showers/changing rooms that can be used if you have a late pick-up as we did. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone of all ages. We will certainly be back (hopefully soon !)

“Fantastic”

I was very impressed with this hotel, having been to various Canary Island hotels over the years, some 5 stars, I wasn’t sure what to expect but this hotel ticked pretty much every box, and at a really great price too. I requested a room on the first floor prior to arrival as I am travelling alone and feel safer. This was happily arranged and I have to say this is one of the nicest rooms I’ve had. Sure there’s all the fancy things in a five star hotel but here each room is almost a mini—apartment, the bedroom, bathroom and living room are all separate and I had two balconies. I would have liked a sun lounger on one of them but can’t complain! Kettle and fridge all great and even two televisions - one in the bedroom and one in the living room. The shower was incredible. The room was cleaned every day. The pools were clean and fairly quiet - there’s two, one is called the “quiet pool” with no music but to be honest even the other one wasn’t rowdy. I could lay in peace and just let the background sound wash over me. I went half board and had breakfast and lunch. Breakfast was what you would expect in any hotel. Evening meal was perhaps a little basic but drinks were included (as many half board packages don’t include drinks!) and I liked there was no fussing about with waiting staff you just take a table and get on with it. The waiting staff are there to clear the tables and I liked this. I could help myself to a drink etc. Location wise it’s just a 10/15 minute walk down to Playa Dorada which is beautiful. It’s not even hilly! Easy to stroll down there and to the marina. I did hire a car and there’s plenty of parking right outside the front of the hotel. All in all, well worth it!
