My sister & I came to this hotel in April...this is a very well run hotel with polite & professional staff. We had a lovely pool view appmt which was spotless. The pool area was very good with a lifeguard that took his job very seriously & didn't stand for any nonsense( making sure no glasses or bottles were allowed & no smoking round the pool). The food was very good with a good choice & fabulous salad bar....everybody ( staff) should be very proud

“Great stay but could be better”

We stayed at Gara Suites Golf & Spa for one week as a couple on a half-board basis. The hotel looks really nice, is modern, and overall is a pleasant place to stay, with very large and spacious rooms. However, there were a few downsides. The location is quite out of the way, at the top of a hill around a 25–30 minute walk from the centre. Taxis cost around €6–€8 each way, which adds up if you’re travelling daily. Siam Park is about a 25-minute walk, and there are buses available. There’s also a convenient on-site shop, although it’s slightly more expensive than in town. The rooms are a highlight—very spacious, clean on arrival, and with comfortable beds (two singles pushed together). We was very pleased with the room and its sheer size. However, housekeeping declined during the stay. Towels weren’t always replaced unless prompted, some were stained, and a glass left next to the door wasn’t collected for four days. By the end, the floor needed a proper clean, and we also had an unresolved ant issue near the balcony. The hotel has two good-sized pools, one heated, which was great for April. There were plenty of sun loungers, and the public areas were clean and well maintained. Food was average and not quite 4-star standard. Hot food cooled quickly, sometimes even cold straight away and options were limited and repetitive, though themed nights were a nice touch. Loved the Kabab I had one night! Desserts were the highlight, especially the soft-serve ice cream. Breakfast was okay, but the toaster was very slow often taking 10 minutes to toast. Drinks at the hotel were also a bit more expensive than bars in the centre, making it less appealing to stay in for the evening. Entertainment was minimal and quite basic, so we wouldn’t recommend it for families or those looking for lively evenings. Overall, it’s a modern, good-looking hotel that offers decent value, but due to the location and added taxi costs, we wouldn’t stay here again but if a walk doesn’t bother you then this is perfect! Location - We didn’t have any problems, there are always taxis just outside the hotel. The area is quite up and down and found it is okay to walk at night. There are a few places down the main road for food and shops however we got taxis to the beachfront and other places for under €10. Atmosphere - The hotel was really good, lots of families, couples, friends which was a good variety. There are pool games daily where most people get involved as well as evening entertainment. Whilst we were here there was a very large school trip. They were quite loud at night and seemed as though they were all running to and from eachothers rooms. But we understand the hotel are not responsible for this and it didn’t effect or sleep or stay. Rooms - We were located on the third floor nearest to the reception. This was great as it was closest to pool, breakfast etc. It is a very large hotel so we didn’t expect to be in the nearest block. Our room was very clean and new with bathroom and decor. We found the cleaning staff did a great job. We did bed and breakfast and got a huge room with sofa, fridge and tv. The only downside is the only bin was in the toilet. This was quite inconvenient as we mainly catered lunch for ourselves which we had rubbish for. Value - Great value for money. Considering we came in Easter holidays (english break) this was one of the best prices we had looked at - especially as it included breakfast too. Breakfast - This opened at 7:30. We arrived at 8:30-9 each day. We had no problems getting a table and some days they help seat you. There was a variety of hot food, pastries, fruit, cheeses and meats. Everything was also replenished regularly. As we left breakfast it did get quite busy with crowds but it depends on what time is most popular. Check out is at 12pm which is great in comparison for other places especially when you have a late flight. There is a secure luggage room where you can also leave your things. We had a really great time, staff in reception were very friendly and answered any of the questions we had.
