We booked the tui blu suite princess adult only hotel last minute, I have personally found that holidays seem very expensive this year so was pleased to find this hotel rated a tui blu 5* at our budget. The hotel itself is over all good , it’s clean, the staff are friendly and helpful and it’s set on the sea front with all rooms having a sea view, for us that’s where it ends . The beach isn’t really much of a beach, it’s a tiny cove sat between two hotels so no romantic strolls along the sea front , it’s also black sands which obviously isn’t so pretty, we always like to do a beach day but this beach did not excite us in any way, it has a few restaurants on it or should I say shacks ! The area, set in a secluded mountainous part of the island there is literally nothing to see within 20 minute drive, the road to Morgan has been closed for sometime due to rock fall (I know it can’t be helped you build hotels and roads into mountains your going to get rock movement ) you can’t really walk to Morgan because you now have to go miles out to come back in , but the hotel does provide a coach over to the marina 9.30 and returns at 12 each day, not really long enough to enjoy Morgan which is a really pretty harbour and well worth the visit , a taxi back is around 25 euros if you want to stay longer. The bus needs to be booked on a Friday because that’s market day and gets busy . We saw some massive sting ray in the harbour very beautiful. Lots of shops and little houses surrounded by beautiful flowers . There is a stunning restaurant at the end of the harbour with some lovely views, it’s trade has been effected because a lorry filling station been built right next to it and people are now struggling to get to it which is a shame because it was definitely worth going to . There is a handful of shops outside of the hotel but all very much of the same and no nice little Spanish tavernas (we did meet a lovely lady called Racheal who was selling day trips who was very friendly and helpful ) We hired a car and went to see some of the islands real beauties , and there are some very lovely villages in the island, and some beautiful beaches with crystal blue sea, well worth doing , The hotel …. The room we had was 8023 and was very spacious, it had a sitting area with tv and a rare treat of English tv channels 1-4 bonus, the beds were comfortable and the balcony was so spacious it had 2 sun beds on it plus a table and chairs ! And a gorgeous view over the sea, They provide shampoo and shower gel (no conditioner ) towels and beds changed daily if required or at your request. Tea making facilities were in the room and you can stock up from the restaurant as required, they also provide a complimentary tin of wine (which we didn’t try) . Biscuits are in the restaurant at breakfast time and we always took a few packets to our room to have late in the afternoon with a cuppa . There were bathrobes and slippers in the room I’m a size 12 and the bathrobes in our room didn’t touch me , more like a child’s robe. The food Whilst there was always something to eat it was not of 5* quality, we’ve stayed in 5* Tui blue in other parts of the world and the food was of a much better standard. It was repetitive but you could find something different to eat each day regardless, I know that the kitchens work really hard and I don’t want to be negative but just felt the food let the hotel down.However we did book into the one time only restaurant where the food was outstanding (more like what you would expect from a 5* all of the time, ). All the restaurants were spotlessly clean and the staff worked hard, however some guests were definitely seen to much quicker than others and most of the time we ended up getting our own drinks in the restaurant because no one came to us. The pool area was again spotlessly clean and we never struggled to get a sun bed, the hotel has a no towels before 10 am and I think this works really well. It should be implemented everywhere !! Two pools ,one really with a wall built between it to make it into two, one side being a walk in pool that gradually got deeper and the other was very deep. The music is playing on low in the background which was perfect and the entertainment team didn’t hassle you to join them but just announced when activities were taking place. The entertainment in the evening was average , nothing to shout home about. Overall it was relaxing , the hotel was clean, staff friendly and the food was ok! For us What let’s this place down is the area , if you just want to sit and do nothing all day you can’t go wrong but if you like a holiday with pretty views and a little something about it this isn’t the place xx

A mature adults only hotel, with a varied buffet, excellent restaurant, the only done side was the beer is San Meguel, a drink guaranteed to give you a headache after two.

Lovely hotel, rooms were very spacious and clean, bedding was only changed when we asked after a week though. The views out to see are great. At first I loved the noise of the waves crashing at night but after several sleepless nights ear plugs were needed. Food was very good most nights. The head waiter in a la cart was rude to us, we arrived 7 minutes early for our table in a mostly empty restaurant and were told to go away and come back in 5 mins. This ruined the whole experience for us. The only other negative was the difficulty in getting drinks. Some staff look at you, see you are waiting and make their mission to ignore you for as long as possible. Sometimes we got coffee and another table got our milk pot but the staff spend a lot of time talking or shouting with each other instead of caring about the customers. On a very positive note the Tui staff were great, especially the entertainment staff ie Nella and Sophia go above and beyond and make the sessions good fun. The evening entertainment acts were good but far too loud, especially the teners who had amazing voices but lots of people left due to the volume, you literally couldn’t listen as it was too in your face. There was a male singer who was amazing and sang soul songs, the acrobats were incredible. It was a long and expensive trip into Porto Megan due to road closure but there was a good mall in porto Rico called mogan mall which is about 13 euros each way. Overall it was a good experience and would return but would not go to the al a cart again .
