“A gorgeous family holiday for a baby!”

We went on our first family holiday to this resort - 2 adults and a 5 month old baby. We were thrilled with everything from start to finish! Room: The hotel room was very clean and modern with a gorgeous bathroom (double sink - win! Especially for washing up baby bottles etc) and we thought the shower and the provided products were amazing and luxurious. We paid for a sea view room and requested a quiet room via email when we booked. We were not disappointed! Our sea view was gorgeous and relaxing - well worth it with a baby as we went back earlier than perhaps we might’ve done normally to put her to bed so we sat out on the balcony more than any other holiday we’ve been on. The balcony was spacious and clean and modern too! The room was definitely as quiet as you could get too, so the staff obviously took note of our request. The cot provided for our little one, upon request, was good and there was enough room still. It was on wheels to we could manoeuvre it around as needed. The beds for us weren’t as comfortable as our bed at home but still really nice. Strange in someways for a couple as it was 2 singles and separate sheets etc. pushed together. The cleaning of our room was fantastic everyday and they did a great job to do it around all of our baby paraphernalia and they were all so very friendly all around the hotel. Staff: Whilst we’re on staff, we found that all RIU staff were brilliant. The cleaning, bar and restaurant staff were polite and friendly and did everything you asked. The entertainment team were wonderful too, very talented and made the effort to get to know the families. We appreciated that all staff made an effort to try and make our 5 month old happy and learned her name. Entertainment: There’s so much to say about this but to summarise- amazing!! The night shows were overall good- outside acts that were hired weren’t as good as the team themselves but there was a good variation. The daytime entertainment was so varied and there was always something going on! We only partook in the Aqua Gym as we had the baby but there was all sorts to do. You wouldn’t be bored! Food: The by food was really nice here. I’ve found that all RIU restaurants have good food actually. I don’t have enormously exotic taste so there were lots of things I didn’t try but the variety was excellent. What I did have was delicious. No complaints here! Breakfast was our favourite meal of the day - the pancakes are our favourite! They also have lots of cake/snacks that we took away in a napkin for a morning stroll. Amenities: Pool towels were able to be changed whenever and very soft. Pools - there are so many! We stuck to the titanic pool where the aqua gym took place near the sea as it was near the Atlantico restaurant for lunch and you were allowed floats (perfect for our bambino). Plenty of sunbeds for everyone and we took our towels down to reserve a couple at 9/9:30ish in a morning and we always got our first choice. Lots of the loungers have big canopies above that you can winch along as the sun moves or completely open if you desire no shade. The self service for drinks was really good and we were happily surprised that the Fanta etc was sugar free! The bar itself was very generous with alcohol measures and would make whatever you liked. I particularly enjoyed the San Francisco mocktail on the menu - sometimes with Malibu! Restaurants- lots of choice for seating an space for our pushchair to be parked next to the table. We never felt like we were too close to other guests at all! It’s worth noting that the resort/hotel itself is quite steep so lots of pushing the pram up hills but good to get a little bit of exercise on holiday. Reception - on this holiday we made a couple of requests and the staff were happy to do what they could, always. For example, th kettle in our room was what we were using to sterilise bottles and make baby formula with. The kettle in our room was fine for adults use but we noticed there was perhaps a touch of limescale in our baby’s milk bottles so we requested a new kettle and they brought us a brand new one and as we were only putting bottled water (low sodium) in the kettle we noticed it made a huge difference. Speaking of which, we also found the microwave in the lunch restaurants very handy for sterilising bottles and dummies during our stay. To summarise, we would happily return here time and time again as it was perfect for all (in our opinion). If you’re a baby, a child, a couple or a family, there’s something for everyone. This review is specially how well it works for a family but there are adults only things and kids club etc that we haven’t experienced. We can’t wait to come back!!
