I was a little worried about the previous reviews of this hotel, however, I had no need to worry. I know people have different opinions but my experience was great. Ive been to other Riu hotels so I knew what to expect. Some of the reviews look like they were in a different resort as I didnt see some of the things they are talking about. I am well travelled and can honestly say, its a good hotel. The staff were always friendly and said hello to you when passing. When checking in, reception were very welcoming and we were very surprised to find out that at 11am, our room was ready. This was a great bonus so we could get down by the pool and settle in. When we finally found our room (the signs could be with being clearer), I couldn’t have asked for more. They had given us a two-room bedroom which was very spacious and had a balcony you could have party on (we didn’t). It was very clean and had what we needed, and the shower was so big and easy to use. We found the pool beds were tightly packed and you were unable to move around, so we went to the bottom pool (Titanic) where we could move the beds and follow the sun. We were going to try the adult pool but it always seemed busy, and I heard that due to the space, people were taking three beds for two people. Towels were out early on the beds, but not ridiculously early like in some places. You were always able to get a bed no matter what time of day it was, it just might not be where you want it, if you had the choice. Food was very samey, but you wouldn’t go hungry. There was always something nice to eat and I loved the chocolate fountain. The main restaurant was very busy, and it did feel like a canteen but how else are they going to accommodate so many people at meal times. During the day, we went to the smaller restaurant by the bottom pools as it was quieter and not so hectic. The entertainment was ok. It’s just what would be expected in this type of resort, however, there were two really good singers before and after the main show, which were great. The bars sometimes became busy so I just helped myself to the wine on tap, instead of waiting. I am used to staying in an adult only resort with Riu so there were a few too many toddlers for my liking who were not always supervised by parents. I would come back to this hotel as it’s a Riu and I always stay in these because they are really good and are lovely and clean.

The food was very repetitive this time with most days being the same as the day before.With very few different choices. We will definitely be back, but change the food up guys. 🥰

This is our experience as returning guests for the past 4 years. The hotel in general is of a good standard. The reception, rooms, staff are all excellent and plenty of the staff do go out of their way to help you have a good holiday. But we wont be returning to this RIU. We feel that the hotel is now slipping into the budget end of the all inclusive market. We all love a bargain! but a bargain is only worth it if you enjoy it. Some people will agree with us and some wont but it is our impression of this holiday. If you like an abundance of food and drink but not to fussy about the selection and quality it will be a dream. If you want a bit more quality and choice may look at other hotels. The hotel must invest in new room towels they are not good. This review is not to knock the hotel but to enlighten the management how the hotel as slipped over the years not only in our opinion but other returning guests that we spoke to.

“Not for families with small children”

We are currently here and the hotel rooms are a very good size and clean however the towels provided are all stained and very old looking and small no bigger than a bath Matt. We are currently here and the hotel rooms are a very good size and clean however the towels provided are all stained and very old looking and small no bigger than a bath Matt. Only a sheet on the bed for sleeping with and an unwashed old blanket in the wardrobe. Only one plug socket in the bedroom one side of the bed. Balcony doors also don’t shut properly even with the bolt lock at the top. The parking you have to pay for the carpark around £9 a day it’s not free even when staying In the hotel and the spaces out front are hard to come by as everyone tries to park there. No shop on site for things needed in an emergency like baby wipes or more nappies without a car you have to walk out the resort and up a hill around 25 minutes with small children. The children’s wrist bands are not child friendly dangerously they are ribbon with pull through clasp so when you pull it goes tighter and can’t loosen to stop you pulling it off however our daughter who had to wear one she is 4 years old and played with it in the back of the car and it went super tight and cut off her blood circulation to her wrist we had to stop random people in the road for some scissors to try and cut it off whilst she was screaming. Our daughter requires armbands and a small ring to help her in the pool these are not allowed in the children’s pool so we were sent away and told to attend the big much deeper pool at the bottom. The food is the same everyday for breakfast, lunch and dinner. There is no children section like we have previously had in other resorts and if with a baby like us be prepared to bring loads of jar foods or go to a local supermarket and hope they warm it up for you because there is nothing for babies and nothing blended previously we have had a children’s section with apple puree and different yogurts. Everyone leaves their stuff at their sun beds when going around the resort for food etc and one day our daughter actually threw up so we had to quickly get her cleaned up and left to come back for our stuff however as seen by many other people the pool maintenance person came round and grabbed everyone’s things and when asking for our belongings back no one could give us an answer saying no English and when demanding after 2 days to look out back there was our stuff that they apparently didn’t have however our belongings had obviously been gone through and some belongings were missing including my partners brand new shoes. No one at this hotel seems to communicate with each other and will just say go to reception for reception to then send you somewhere else to then be told back to reception and then pretend they don’t speak English when before you had an issue they spoke perfect English. We booked Riu because we thought it would live up to its good reputation and 4 star however unfortunately this did not and we prefer the cheaper resorts we have previously stayed in as they offer a lot more for small children and more helpful the hotel looks nice but super basic and really could do with just being adults only even though there is also no spa.
