Last but one day of our stay at Colina Mar, and I feel I can now give an honest review of the hotel. I learned a long time ago not to take advertised star ratings as gospel. I've stayed in 5*+, 5*, 4*, and 3* hotels many times before, and I always use that as a guide rather than an expectation. As for Colina Mar, it's certainly not a dump, although it is a little tired in places. Some areas could do with updating, and the rooms would benefit from a refresh. There is no air conditioning, but between a local hire company and the hotel, we managed to rent a unit which worked perfectly. The pool is cleaned regularly, as are all the communal areas, and the staff responsible for this work incredibly hard. The lifeguard can come across as a little authoritarian and perhaps takes the role very seriously, but it's clear there are rules in place for a reason. The food has generally been good. Breakfast was the standout meal of the day, while lunch was good and dinner was decent too. The entertainment was a bit hit and miss, but the staff in both the pool bar and main bar were superb. A special mention goes to Manuel, who was great fun and always up for a bit of banter. It was lovely hearing about his family and chatting with him during his shifts. At the end of the day, this is a budget hotel, and it's important to remember what you're paying for. There are areas that could be improved, but it is a long way from being the "dump" that some reviews make it out to be. We've genuinely enjoyed our time here as our holiday comes to a close.

Location is a minute walk from the europa centre, quite a long transfer by coach, over 70 mins, hotel clean, rooms dated but fine, food and drinks are decent, we always had something to eat, staff friendly, only downside were some of the rowdy, rude English guests, the hotel needs to keep a check on wristbands as we saw a few being passed around, which is annoying as we payed in advance for all inclusive, all considered a decent hotel if you are booked don't worry about the negative reviews.

Food is rotten. Breakfast is the best meal of the day, just be sure to microwave beans as they are luke warm, bread rolls stale. Done budget all inclusive many times this place was by far the worst. Food is rotten. Breakfast is the best meal of the day, just be sure to microwave beans as they are luke warm, bread rolls stale. Done budget all inclusive many times this place was by far the worst. I was ill for most if the trip the children were not poorly but they wouldnt touch the food during the day. The 'snack' bar was down 100 steps and was only icecream. Any others snacks between meal times had to be paid for. Cocktails not included. The room was great and pool area also. Pool area extensively cleaned at the end of each day. I do not recommend all inclusive here. I ate breakfast each day and only braved the other food 4 times it just wasn't worth the bathroom trips.
