Nice hotel, plenty of sun loungers. Variation of pools suitable for kids. Can be windy but that was nice on hot days. We rented a car at the airport, no problem finding free parking max 5 min walk from the hotel, usually less. Only a short promenade area along the coast but 3k walk to the 5k promenade at San Agustin along the beachfront Food was ok, good variety during the week with different themes. Its catering for all inclusive and families so if you’re a food snob then perhaps not. Room was spacious, cleaned each day and comfortable beds and aircon We took half board, the price premium for all inclusive was substantial and in my opinion not worth the cost - nice spar / Dino a minute from the hotel for lunch stuff

We arrived for our first holiday in Gran Canaria on the 3rd April 2026 for a 10 night stay booked directly through TUI as an all inclusive package. We hired a car at the airport with Cicar who were great and fairly priced. The drive from the airport to the hotel was straightforward and took around 20-25minutes. Now this is one point where the hotel loses half a point from us - there is NO PARKING for your hire car linked to the hotel so you must find parking outside of the hotel on one of the side streets. On arrival as it was a spanish public holiday it took a while to find a space and we had to take a 10 minute walk from where we had parked to get to the hotel. It is however worth noting other than this initial day we found parking regularly and it didnt inconvenience us too much. Now the hotel itself and I am going to start with my only negative take away. On arrival we were greeted by Fernando on reception and I have never felt so unwelcome, rushed and generally like an inconvenience to anyone in my life. He rushed myself and children through checkin, gave no advice about facilities or even a map! I had to get this later in the evening. We were 2 hours prior to checkin and were told to come back at 2 pm which was fine with us but the way this man spoke to us did not leave a lasting good first impression. I want to point out also that whilst at the resort my son lost his hoodie - I approached reception as the TUI staff advised me to and it was Fernando - he shrugged his shoulders and simply said "No". Great help! This was first thing in the morning and at the end of the day when the staff has changed I returned to the desk and the new staff member on the desk said yes the hoodie was handed in the day before and gave it to me! Great help Fernando - my advice to management - get rid of a bad egg as he clearly isnt interested in a customer facing role!. Also, worth noting another bad egg located at the Playa Feliz bar in the early evening, constantly going on breaks and no customer service skills at all. Another one to be rid of I say. Negatives out the way the hotel - Rooms - We stayed in a split level family room with pool view. Room was large and clean with a beautiful view of the pool and a full sea view! It was a lovely room with hair dryer, TV with english channels and plenty of hangers in the wardrobe. You also get a safe which is free to use. Lots of storage space for all your clothes and a large balcony with table and chairs. The room also has a small fridge along with tea and coffee making facilities. Cleanliness - TOP MARKS! The hotel is so clean and tidy and the staff hear work extra hard! Our room was cleaned daily with fresh towels and beds made! Honestly they did an amazing job of our room and the little touches with the childrens teddies was cute!. They also refresh the bottle of water each day which is great!. Pools - No massive sunbed wars here there are PLENTY - if you want front row yes you need to be down by 8am but it was never a problem for our family and there were always some beds available whatever time you went down. The pools are super clean, well maintained and warm too! We were blessed with excellent weather during our stay 10 days above 25degrees and hardly windy! The last day was breexy but the pool is very sheltered and cleverly designed to avoid the trade winds. Inflatables are only allowed in one of the pools. The splash facilities are great for smaller children. Restaurant and Food - No compliants here! The food is LOVELY! A great variety at breakfast lunch and dinner and a well stocked snack bar in the day for ice creams, toasties and other things. Drinks are fine, typical all inclusive but the strawberry daiquiri was my favourite! You wont be dissapointed. Staff - All apart from Fernando. Including bar staff, entertainment team, tui guides and everyone else on the resort are super friendly, helpful and just a joy to stay with! We really credit the work they do! Location - Hire a car, there isnt much around the hotel. Beach is rocks (limited to no sand) its really good to get out and travel the island anyway and I do reccomend, Mogan and Amadores! Overview: All in all... and despite the few issues, we would love to return. We had a GREAT holiday and the resort is well maintained with beautiful grounds, friendly staff on the whole and tons of things for the kids to do! The beach is rocky but lovely for a swim! The pools warm and the site super clean and safe! There is always something going on and I do reccomend a stay here at TUI Blue Orquidea.

fantastic family holiday, was perfect for what we needed. (2 adults, 2 kids aged 6 and 3) We stayed for a week, and made full use of all the facilities. The room was spacious and was cleaned everyday to an excellent standard. We even we given a bottle of Cava in the room when the staff spotted my birthday cards, it was a beautiful touch and very appreciated. All the staff we lovely and extremely helpful. The all inclusive food was delicious, and there was so much variety. Food and drinks were available all day from one of the bars or restaurants, we were never left feeling hungry! Although the plastic cups given to drink out of during the day are really small. We booked through booking.com as it worked out cheaper than Tui, but we still had full access to the Tui app and booked various activities through it. It made the holiday a lot easier! The hotel is slightly beginning to show its age, it could do with modernising, and the beach is tiny, but other than i cannot complain at all.
