Believe me, I am not someone who normally notices the state of cleanliness somewhere unless it is below par. However, this place sparkles in every respect - there is not even a single weed to be seen in the garden That, alongside the charming and helpful staff, and the fact that it is a mere five minutes walk to the medieval town, makes this Posada easy to recommend

A lovely guest house, very clean with welcoming staff – lack of extensive spoken English compensated by friendliness. Good value with a pleasant garden and reasonably spacious bedroom. Visited caves Cuevas Del Castello and de Las Monedas about 30 minutes away - we felt privileged to see this ancient art in its true environment. Amazing cave paintings and hand prints from 40,000 years ago.

I think what you got for what we paid was an excellent value. We had not requested breakfast during booking and the notice that told us that we had to request breakfast if we wanted it the night before was under the coffee maker so unfortunately we did not see it till too late. If you want to have breakfast there be sure to book when you arrive if not before. The B&B is located outside the main historic area but with the car, it was much easier staying at Posada Araceli, they also provided us free parking which was a big bonus. It is a short easy walk into the historic area. There was simply no where to park when we arrived on a Sunday afternoon, every inch of parking, including parking lots were all full. Large tour groups are brought in on a regular basis so you might want to reconsider visiting Santillana del Mar. We had hoped to visit the caves, which have now been converted to a museum but it closed early on the Sunday and they were closed on the Monday. They gave us directions on how to reach the museum although a bit difficult to understand only to find the museum closed, which I thought they should have know. We almost walked, they said it would take approximately 30-45 minutes, glad we didn't under the circumstances. Room was all we needed, clean and a comfortable bed.

Very compact and basic, but practical and clean; good value for money and very close to the centre of a truly wonderful little town. Almost no wifi (in our room anyway) so pack a good book for a rainy day. Breakfast is very basic too and the coffee pretty awful (having been spoiled perhaps with excellent espresso almost everywhere you go), but it’s also unusually cheap at 4 Euro and served by the most friendly staff.
