We've just stayed 7 nights at Medplaya Sant Eloi and have thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel is set out of town, a €15 taxi or 30-40 minute walk if you brave the forest track out of the rear gate but this it made the atmosphere all the more authentic! There is a courtesy 8 seater minibus which is driven by one of the maintenance guys, who won't leave anyone and will come back if the bus is full on the first trip. Some days, the driver was a bit frantic and in a hurry so his driving was rather dangerous. We were 3 adults and 2 kids (13 and 7) and had 2 rooms on the 2nd floor which were fine for us but anyone with mobility issues would struggle not being in the building with the lift/elevator. Rooms are very spacious and the separate bedroom with twin singles is ideal for a family. Kitchen and accessories is a bonus with fridge and freezer compartment. Bathroom does get wet due to shower tray not having a 'lip' and the water seeping over the edge. However, there is a mop and bucket left in the bathroom so this is easily mopped up. We had no issues with sewage or smell in the rooms, I believe this may have been ground floor rooms mostly. Rooms are cleaned and bedding and towels changed every other day of your stay and ample in my opinion. Food is your typical all inclusive and we always found something to eat! One downside is if your seated outside (on a balcony with umberellas), the hotel allow people to smoke, which we found completely ignorant when you're eating and don't smoke ourselves. There are no ashtrays so the ash and butt's are left on the ground. The snack burgers and hotdogs from the bar are fab and the pizzas (paid for) are some of the best we've had! The added crisps and cold snacks/fruit behind the bar are a great addition. Drinks are also great, my kids loved the non alcoholic cocktails and the bar staff made one of the nicest mojitos I've ever tasted (even growing their own mint in the hotel grounds!) San Miguel and sangria on tap! You're given drinks vouchers on arrival. You swap these for your first drink, then when you're finished for the day, give your plastic glass back and receive a voucher back. Drinks on a night time are in a proper glass and vouchers aren't required. Personally we found the plastic glasses and voucher a great idea, less waste and breakages, safety around the pool and also helps bring down the amount of cleaning/collecting staff need to do so they can man the bar instead. Our last day, the hotel was full and there was a constant queue and wait for a table in the restaurant. Not ideal when you're queuing up a flight of stairs. Pools are brill, plenty to keep the kids entertained and the lifeguard does a good job of a keeping a check!

Our room was cleaned regularly and the whole complex was kept very clean. The pools and splash pads were very safe for the kids and theres a lifeguard whilst the pool is open. ive read reviews where people have moaned about the food, We found it very good, our party consisted of me and my partner, both oaps our daughter, son in law and their 3 kids, 2 , 5 and 7 all us enjoyed our meals there was something for all of us. The salad bar, rolls, fresh fruit, 3 types of pasta, kids corner always a chicken and fish, (Nuggets, goujons, ect) chips. There was always 3 main courses 2 meat 1 fish whilst we were there, there was Rabbit, Turkey Strogganoff, Beef stew, honey ribs, curry, Prawns, swordfish, plus there was a further 2 choices from the grill . For dessert there was always 3 flavours or icecream , which was Walls icecream, and fruit, and a selection of mousses tarts cakes. Serve yourself wine, sangria beer juices and sodas. Breakfast also very good selection, no complaints about the food at all. Entertainment tribute and illusionist at weekend but not much for adults later, but that did mean by 11.30 everywhere was very quiet. Aqua sports during the day and kids disco very good. The staff were wonderful, helpful, pleasant and very approachable. just one downside no kids highchairs in restaraunt. The complex is a 20 minute walk to Tossa town and the beach, there is a courtersey minibus and they are trying to improve the service, if you walk to the town take the forest trail at the back of the complex, nice walk and much safer than walking along the main road at the front. All in all a very nice stay,

MedPlaya Hotel Sant Eloi We’ve just spent a week at MedPlaya Hotel Sant Eloi, and overall it’s been a mixed experience, some genuinely lovely parts for families, but also several things that really need improvement. Positives The hotel is a great size for children, easy to get around, safe, and very family‑focused. The splash pools and main pool are shallow, which made it stress‑free for our little one to enjoy the water. There are plenty of sunbeds, so no early‑morning reserving needed, which was a big relief. Most of the staff are warm, friendly, and welcoming. Claudia deserves a special mention, she works incredibly hard and brings so much fun and energy to the entertainment team. The location is remote, but that actually makes it peaceful and relaxing. The shuttle bus into Tossa de Mar is handy, although it’s unclear what happens if more than eight people want to get on at once. Taxi is €16 into town. It is NOT walking distance. The arcade is great for kids, everything is €1, and although it’s small, there’s enough to keep them entertained. The park/play area is another nice touch and adds to the family‑friendly feel. Negatives The biggest disappointment has been the food. It’s the same every single day, no theme nights, very limited meat options, lots of salad and pasta, and desserts are repetitive (mostly jelly). For a long stay, it becomes boring very quickly. The restaurant setup isn’t practical for families. There are no proper cereal bowls (only tiny olive bowls), and pasta slides off the flat plates. If you’re travelling with children, bring your own bowls. Although the rooms have been modernised, there’s a strong sewage smell that comes through the bathroom daily. It’s not just one room other guests have mentioned the same issue. We had our balcony door open day and night to allow the room to air out. For this reason, I wouldn't return here. Cleaning standards are inconsistent. After six days, our bed sheets were changed but the pillowcases weren’t. The daily activities aren’t advertised well. There’s only a small printed schedule stuck on the wall by reception, and nothing is really promoted or explained. A couple of staff members, Enrique (who I believe is a manager) and the young girl behind the bar were noticeably rude, which stood out compared to the rest of the team. Finally, the glassware rules are confusing. Children are given real glasses in the restaurant and bar at night, yet adults are given plastic cups during the day. There needs to be separate small plastic glasses for children. For small hands and less waste! Overall Sant Eloi has a lot of potential and some genuinely lovely features for families, great pools, peaceful surroundings, friendly staff, and plenty for kids to do. But the repetitive food, room issues, and inconsistent service let it down. With a few improvements, it could be a fantastic family hotel, but right now it feels like it’s falling short in some important areas.

We recently stayed here as a family and had a mixed experience. The rooms were modern, spacious, and well presented. During our stay we unfortunately caught a sickness bug, which obviously wasn't the hotel's fault. The reception staff were helpful during this time and provided fresh bedding and towels when needed. The pools and splash parks are excellent for younger children and non-swimmers. However, older children and confident swimmers may find the pool area a little limited, as the deeper section is quite small. The food was probably the biggest disappointment. There wasn't a great deal of variety and the menus rarely changed throughout the week. The snack options available between meal times were also quite poor. On several occasions, asking for snacks felt like an inconvenience to some staff members, which wasn't a particularly welcoming experience. One bar staff understood so little English you had to point to the drink menu for him to understand what you wanted. Most staff were friendly, but a number of employees struggled to understand English, which sometimes made communication difficult. Unfortunately, the bar and restaurant manager was consistently rude during our stay and never appeared approachable or welcoming. A simple smile or friendly attitude would have made a significant difference to the overall atmosphere. One significant issue was ants. We had ants throughout our room, including on the beds, and this occurred in both rooms we stayed in. We also spoke to another couple who had been moved twice because of sewage smell problems. The resort already felt busy despite only appearing to be around one-third full. I would be concerned about how crowded it becomes during peak season. For anyone planning to walk into town, be aware that it takes considerably longer than Google Maps suggests. We were quoted around 32 minutes, but it took our family over two hours, while another family reported a journey of around 1 hour 45 minutes. The route is not straightforward and isn't particularly well signposted, so it's easy to get lost. There is a shuttle/taxi service available, but it only operates at certain times. We found the driver main driver was quite erratic and would strongly recommend wearing seatbelts. During one journey, sudden braking caused our 11-month-old to bump her head on the seat in front. If you pay for a taxi into town be expecting to pay in excess of €15, larger families will pay a lot more. One family said they had to pay €40. The journey takes 5 minutes. Finally, the vending machines seemed to be out of order throughout our stay, when they did work they were expensive, €2.50 for a bar of chocolate and €3 for a bottle of water. Overall, there are some positives, particularly for families with younger children, but there are several areas that need improvement.
