Good hotel in a great location We stayed for two weeks at this hotel from end of September to early October 2025. It's a good hotel, right on the seafront. We chose a superior seaview room, worth it for the stunning views over the bay of Roses. The main reason we booked this hotel was because of the hotel's lovely garden on the beach. However, when we arrived, we were disappointed to see a sign saying it was closed. The next day the sunbeds were taken away in a van. This was really disappointing as the garden was gorgeous, with shade from trees and just a couple of steps to the sea. Seeing it empty every day was a shame, especially as this was one of the reasons we'd booked this hotel and their website didn't say it would be closed after a certain date. Outside, the pool area was small with little shade but fortunately there was also a side area with sunbeds. We used this area a lot (as the garden was closed) and it was easy to find empty sunbeds. This was our first visit to Roses and we enjoyed it a lot as it was very relaxing and quiet. The hotel was very clean, and the breakfast room staff were friendly and helpful. However the breakfast was slightly limited in its offer, after two weeks of eating the same things each day. The breakfast room was big with lots of space, which was appreciated. If you're a vegetarian you might suffer at breakfast and even more so if you're vegan. Our bedroom was modern and clean with a lovely balcony to sit on with comfortable chairs and a small table. The bedroom was cleaned thoroughly each day. Bathroom towels were changed daily although we kept them on the hooks indicating we didn't need them changed, and the bedding was changed every couple of days. We ate one night at the hotel bistro, Bim's, and it was good. All in all, Roses was a charming, friendly seaside town. Don't miss the Roses Express Tren Touristic and the boat ride to Cadaques. We also visited the Dali museum in Figueres by bus and the city of Girona by bus then train. The Cuitadella in Roses is a must visit too, it was incredible, and don't forget to play mini golf in the Belgian bar next to the hotel. A visit by local bus to the medieval town of Costello d'Empuries is a must.

“Second stay”

We stayed here last summer and booked again as we really liked the hotel. A couple of things let it down on this occasion. The beach sun beds were reserved as soon as it opened …. Not nearly enough to accommodate the size of the hotel …. So we tried the few around the pool area … no shade, and not … more

We stayed here last summer and booked again as we really liked the hotel. A couple of things let it down on this occasion. The beach sun beds were reserved as soon as it opened …. Not nearly enough to accommodate the size of the hotel …. So we tried the few around the pool area … no shade, and not many loungers … alternative was to sit in chairs around the breakfast area … not very relaxing and uncomfortable seats. It was only a three night stay but managed to get a sun-bed for 1 day only … spoilt it as we couldn’t properly relax and some of the reserved beds were unoccupied for hours. Second slight thing that wasn’t very good our order for food was totally wrong maybe the young waitress was new? It was rectified by the more experienced girl so no issue. All in all a great hotel everything else was perfect . But do feel the sun-bed problem needs addressing.

We are returning customers and this is normally a gem of a hotel with fabulous rooms and facilities. This year it was spoilt by the closure of the beach club - the grassy area with sun loungers by the beach. We have always enjoyed relaxing here but not this year - just a notice saying closed and the only explanation being 'it's the council's decision'. A few extra loungers were added to the hotel's small enclosed garden but this was then overcrowded and it also shrunk the breakfast area. Service remains good but it was noticed by a few guests that the happy atmosphere amongst the staff was missing.

“Disappointed – Not given the Sea View I Paid For - beware of 1st floor sea view rooms.”

After a long and busy week at work, I decided to treat myself to a night at the seaside. After seeing the beautiful views on the hotel's website, I upgraded to a sea-view room with a terrace to relax and unwind. I was genuinely excited on the drive there, imagining myself on the terrace, copa in hand, soaking up the calming views of the Med. Unfortunately, the reality didn’t match the promise. The room I was given—on the first floor—offered only a partial sea view, with most of the outlook dominated by the decorative stones on the restaurant roof below. It was a real letdown. I immediately returned to reception to ask if I could be moved to a proper sea-view room, but was told none were available. I even asked to be downgraded to a standard room, hoping for some honesty in pricing, but again, no availability. I was left feeling disappointed and misled—this simply wasn’t what I had paid for. The room itself was lovely, and I can’t fault the service from the restaurant and bar staff, who were great. Breakfast was excellent, too. But it’s a shame that no gesture, explanation, or partial refund was offered at reception to soften the blow — just indifferent shoulder shrugs. I was too tired to fight. A lovely hotel, but I’d urge others to double-check exactly what kind of “sea view” they’re booking.
