Just back from a fantastic laid back break in Patalavaca / Anfi del Mar where we were lucky enough to stay in the very beautiful Radisson Blu Resort. Every room at this spotless hotel has a fabulous sea view and we could look across the small bay to Anfi del Mar which looked as good at night as it did during the day. If you are thinking of booking I would urge you to go for a Premium room which has a Jacuzzi on the balcony. This was brilliant for a pre-breakfast bubble up and similar early evening before going out to eat. The rooms are sizeable with good storage space and an equally sizeable bathroom with twin sinks, shower, bath, wc and bidet; you are also provided with robes and slippers. The TV is large and there is a kettle, coffee machine, fridge and ironing facilities etc. The beds are soft and comfortable but the duvets are a bit flimsy and the pillows a bit too soft and shapeless with little support (only a very minor gripe!). Don't bother packing towels unless you plan to head for the beach as there is a card/towel exchange scheme round the pools. We didn't eat dinner in the restaurants but La Canaria provided a first class breakfast with everything you could possibly ask for (sit in the shade as the sun comes from behind the hotel and after 10am you are in danger of being roasted!). The pool areas are excellent and the sun beds are very comfortable and there was always plenty of choice with very little evidence of early morning 'towelling'. There was no escape from howling children <3yrs but it isn't terrible and you have the option to position away from the shallow pools. The area is very picturesque and there are three beaches within a short stroll. Head left and there are 4 or 5 very nice restaurants (tablecloths, lights & flowers etc - not your fast food rubbish!) some of which have outside seating overlooking the beach and sea which was lovely. And if you are like me and don't like to miss the football head right and go to Havana which serves nice quick food, good Atlantic lager bier and has multiple screens (even got them to show Leeds United / QPR but wished I hadn't! All in all our holiday was soooo relaxing and just what we needed; the hotel and ts position are superb, Anfi is a cut above other resorts in GC that we have visited and the Radisson staff were a credit to the business without exception. All being well we will definitely be back next year.

Second visit. Last one was Nov 2023 and it was so good that we booked one more before leaving. Currently here day 5/7. Half board Staying on the 8th floor in a large suite. Last time, we were on the 6th floor in a one bedroom suite and it was huge. When leaving, I requested a suite with bath for the next visit and we end up being offered a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom even bigger suite with a hot tub on the terrace. Impressed to say the least. These rooms are seriously superb. Everything is available. Fridge freezer microwave (at least last time around and this time I’m not sure but there is an oven), washing machine which is awesome if you need to wash. Kettle etc. no minibar though but room service is available and a supermarket within the hotel. The suite is like 100+ sq meters/1000 sq ft. Extremely spacious. Love it Reception: good and always respond fast if you call them Accessibility: easy to get everywhere with a pram Restaurant: The buffet restaurant is very good. Very good for us with a kid and who like a good selection. I eat high protein and veggies and salads and fruits and can have exactly what I want daily. So much to choose from. Healthy and unhealthy. Not 5 star but very good. If you expect high end dinners, maybe don’t go half board. It’s not cordon bleu. The breakfast is divine too and so much to choose from. Staff amazing. Really amazing. Always smiling to the kids and speaking with the kids. Attentive and super fast. Very good. A la carte restaurant top floor SW222 I think it’s called. This is a very good restaurant with superb food. Also excellent drink menu. Don’t miss out. Supermarket: seems to always be open and has everything one might need. Boutiques: one of them has toys and beach toys which our daughter loves Gym: The indoor gym is great. I go on the treadmill every morning and my husband uses the other stuff. It’s a good large basement gym. Outdoor gym is available too but not sure who used it as there are only like 5 machines of some kind. This is a superb hotel. Everything is great. I work in 5 star service and even have a company training domestic and hotel service staff so I consider myself fairly discerning. Random notes below: Kids pool: Great and very well heated. Always space for us and available chairs. Swap towels as many times as you wish. Nearby beaches: good enough and in very close proximity to the hotel. Literally outside. The pavement outside the hotel is barely walkable however so it’s not great going for a walk outside the hotel but to the beach, it’s fine. Kids club: great for our 3 year old. Indoors she loves playing and there is plenty to do and never ever busy. Only a few kids at the time. We stay with our kids but 4+ kids can be left alone and will be looked after. Our kid likes the playground too and we are here a lot. Other than the note below, it’s good. Hairdresser: I have my hair washed and styled every other day so I don’t have to sort it myself. We even let our 3 year old daughter have her first cut here. Sandra is really lovely and good at her job. Nails: I’ve had my nails done, and although they don’t normally remove gel or acrylic, they helped me with mine that needed to be fixed. Superb attention to details. They removed my gel careful and beautifully did my nails with gellack. SPA: Visit the SPA during your stay. We spend a lot of time here. The massages are great. We have a massage each day one after another and love it. The best massage therapist is Eloise in our opinion but Flavia and Cynthia are good too. If I have to think of any negatives, they are: Housekeeping has forgotten to refill my coffee capsules for the nespresso machine. I have called and asked for some. Didn’t get them so called again now and they came straight away. Housekeeping doesn’t replace the small towels I use for my face. Same on the last stay but I mentioned it then and they brought more. This time around I’ve not bothered asking. Today, we didn’t get the toiletries refilled. I think maybe because the HK rushed as my hubby came whilst she was working. Otherwise they are good and everything is cleaned well daily. Last time around, I asked for new under sheets daily because of night sweats and they sorted that. The playground has splinters/broken wood on the play house where the slides are. A real risk for young kids. There is an area on it completely damaged and it would be a quick thing to fix. I’ll have to mention it and see if they fix it Occasionally, you have to wait for service in the pool bar. They get busy. I’m an impatient person and the service is not bad but I think the staff are a bit too busy at times. I want to be served straight away and worst case, you may have to wait to order or pay for some 10 mins. Again it’s not a massive issue. 1/3 ladies in the kids club is not engaging with the kids in my opinion. More interaction would be appreciated by the kids and parents. The other 2 are good. One in particular. No yoga or group training. I train a lot and need to give my muscles recovery sometimes so using this time for it but I think it would be a great addition. Also no kid shows at all. No mini disco which is something we love but you can’t have it all maybe as this place also caters for those without kids This is an expensive holiday but it really offers us all we want and it’s worth it. 90% or more is just great so please take my negatives with ease.

Good hotel for a family stay, but not the best for couples wanting some quiet.
