“Perfect location”

Fantastic location, 10 metres from the beech. Restaurants close by, yet quiet. Clean, friendly staff, good food. Fantastic location, 10 metres from the beech. Restaurants close by, yet quiet. Clean, friendly staff, good food. A few strange ideas but nothing drastic, such as tea bags in the room, but no milk in mini bar or coffee in the room. Drinks and food reasonably priced. Very comfortable. We had a sea view, which is worth the supplement. One negative that didn’t affect us is the lift does not go to the spa, so not sure about disabled access.

After a horrendous year of health issues this was our first holiday abroad for two years, and it didn’t disappoint. The staff deserve special mention for their friendliness, helpfulness and positive attitudes. From management to cleaning staff, everyone said good morning and were keen to see that we had all we needed. Dining room staff were excellent and professional yet friendly. There was a bottle of water each, a kettle and Bath slippers in our room so management obviously read comments on here and act upon them! Food was ok, bit bland (don’t have curry - it tastes nothing like!) Entertainment in the evenings was right up our street; a Spanish harpist and a saxophonist played well on alternate nights. If I had to nitpick…I’d ask for instructions on operating the air conditioning as many of us Brits don’t use it. And a few sachets of cold milk for the tea in the room would be appreciated. I would love to return to Reina Isabel, if only my bucket list weren’t so long!

“Great for short break”

Great location literally short walk to centre and more or less on the beach front. Hotel had everything you need. Plenty of choice at breakfast. Staff friendly, reception staff helpful. Not worth using taxis as a short walk to bus terminal and only nominal cost <€10 to airport for 2 people

Had a lovely stay here and apart from a couple of points it was a fantastic stay. The hotel itself is well situated along the front and just a 2 minute walk to a beautiful beach. It's a lovely hotel if a little tired. The couple of bad points are the food and the beds. We had a bed and breakfast break for 11 nights and paid for a couple of evening meals. The restaurant is buffet style and all you can eat with a reasonable choice but the food is warm at best and usually getting towards the cold side. I've heard people say that is how they are in Gran Canaria but everywhere else we ate (and there have been a few) the food was piping hot. We had boiled eggs twice in the morning and they managed to be half cooked with the white still being in the slimy stage and cold. We actually only went down to breakfast about 4 times over the 11 nights as the food just really wasn't up to scratch. The evening meals were a little better but at 28 euros each not really worth the money especially as you are just a 5 min walk from loads of restaurants that are at least half the price. The second thing is the beds. If you're coming from the UK and have stayed in any of the chain hotels here then you're going to be very disappointed in the beds. We had twin beds and they were definitely not up to scratch. Just cheap mattresses with very used mattress toppers on that moved during the night and the pillows are very cheap and thin. We had booked with Tui to have a double bed but when we got to the hotel all they had were twins. The roof pool is nice but unless you go up very early or late you wont get a sun lounger. The spa is amazing though and well worth a visit. Saying this though the stars of the hotel are definitely the staff. Nothing was any trouble for them and they were friendly and extremely helpful and professional. They really made the stay for us. Also be aware that there are only a couple of English television channels although one of these is Film 4 so you can watch a film in bed at the end of the day. In summary it's a lovely hotel that's very well situated if a little dated and tired. You have a stunning beach to the front and the city to the rear so the best of both worlds.
