After spending a week here in april, I would find it hard to find fault with this hotel. The room was kept spotless, the grounds and pools were superbly kept - no missing tiles or faulty sockets, patio doors etc. The grounds are magnificent, top marks to the gardeners! All staff encountered were attentive, professional and friendly. Excellent prompt service at breakfast and dinner. Food was just fine - as a vegetarian, I found plenty on the buffet most nights, and all was delicious. Only small issue - perhaps the food labelling could have been better? My wife, who's not a veggie, mentioned the sea bass and swordfish as being particularly excellent. Perhaps the long, long buffet may cause some problems if the hotel is full and busy, but we had no problems. Excellent all round, 5 stars, thoroughly enjoyed it. (except....one night, I think Saturday 27/4, one of the bars was, I think, given over to a private party, with a DJ and sound system playing bass-heavy dance music at ear-splitting volume until almost 1am. Deafening, even with the doors closed, keeping the whole hotel awake. I don't know what the management were thinking of to allow this)

We have been fortunate enough to experience many luxury hotels and this is definitely one of the top hotels that we have enjoyed. Thank you to all the lovely staff for making this possible. The grounds the pools and all the surrounding areas have a lot to enjoy they are definitely some of the best. Close to the bus station, plenty of taxis. Nice walks, enjoying the beach , perhaps not the sea because of the current but definitely the peninsula Breakfast tasty , service amazing

We have stayed at this hotel several times but it has been renovated since our last stay and is even more impressive. From the minute you step into the lobby you are met with the most luxurious surroundings. Check in is easy and staff are very friendly. We would like to thank Virginia for our upgrade as we booked to celebrate our 40th Wedding Anniversary. Our Suite was fantastic overlooking Faro Lighthouse. Everything we could possibly need was provided. Turn down service and chocolates are a lovely touch and much appreciated. The bed is huge and super comfy. Best sleep I have ever had in a hotel. Housekeeping staff really work hard to make your stay comfortable. Entertainment day and night to suit everyone and staff readily available to take drinks orders in the many seating areas. You have the added bonus to pay for snacks snd drinks with a wristband which is also the key to room - no need to carry cash. Plenty of sunloungers around the pools and gardens and there is really no need to reserve these as there is plenty available. There is a fantastic selection of food in Almeda Restaurant to suit all tastes. You would never leave hungry. Restaurant staff are very friendly and keep the place immaculate. There is a good selection of wines available and are all reasonably priced. The spa is in a class if its own. A fantasic experience well worth booking a session during your stay. For the sheer size of this hotel it is a credit to all who work there to ensure guests have the best experience possible. It is handy to download the Lopesan app and it lets you know what activities and entertainment js available each day. Looking forward to our next return.

Beautiful resort, lacks some facilities you would expect with 5*. No coffee in room unless unique rooms. No slippers. No English/UK channels except news. Aircon noisy and only goes down to 22. Beautiful resort, lacks some facilities you would expect with 5*. No coffee in room unless unique rooms. No slippers. No English/UK channels except news. Aircon noisy and only goes down to 22. Food at dinner is disappointing. Queues at each of the serving stations and NO labels for food and no allergen labels. Slow service at outside bar areas and some grumping - seemed understaffed. Entertainment a bit europop, and stops at 11pm. Bar shuts at 12mn. Everything looks cared for to high standard and very clean. Reception staff very helpful and friendly. Lovely hotel overall.
