This is my third stay in two years at Riomar. I discovered it in Conde Nast Traveller which is my go to for all my travel planning. This hotel, more of my home in fact, delivers consistently. Rooms - beautifully appointed, serviced when I rise late within minutes. Great bath and shower products. Nespresso and nicely stocked and reasonably priced mini-bar. The comfiest beds. Riomar’s setting is perfect. On a beautiful stretch of pristine beach in the increasingly stylish St Eularia. The food is 5 ⭐️. Never disappoints. Poolside is heaven….the beds are like nearly a foot deep, super luxe! Cocktails are divine. It’s a perfect setting and location on the island. Not too far from anywhere but to me it’s like my little oasis of calm and recovery after a big night out. But…beyond all else the standout by a mile is the team. I was welcomed back this year with a room upgrade by Pablo (thank you my friend) and Lucia at the ocean bar and pool is nothing less than a legend. Good vibes, a bit cheeky (a true Ibizan with a twist of Newcastle) she doesn’t just provide great service, she clearly loves what she does and cares too. To be honest the staff become more like friends. Every day Pablo asks me which club is on my agenda and the early morning team want my DJ reviews when I get back at 7am! Nothing is too much trouble even an oat flat white to watch the sunrise way before the kitchen opens for breakfast! I think to summarise, Riomar is somewhat understated, discreet even, stylish without trying, certainly not brash and just nails it. To me, when I’m in Ibiza this is my home!

I’m a dad, 45, with two daughters under 8. If like me, you love to plan the holiday but often end up with a disappointed family (wife), overpriced car hire and more bad points than good, you’ll love the below. Riomar scores an excellent 9/10. Positives - Service - F&B - View, Pool & Beach - Value Negatives - Room size - Sun lounger etiquette - Gym Let me drill down further on key areas. The service is at 5* levels. We all know staff get rewarded with good reviews and rightly so. As such, Nieves on the terrace and the blonde gentleman on porter service stood out. Many others have mentioned the breakfast as excellent and I agree, with the added bonus of being available until 11:45am. My wife is actually half woman, half Greek yoghurt, and the latter was some of the best she’s sampled in a hotel. We ate lunch and dinner at the hotel restaurant during our stay and all excellent. Quick note, the beer is Estrella and the spicy Paloma blew my t*ts off, I ordered two. Room size, small, but on arrival my wife asked the hotel to remove everything bar the curtains, which helped. After unpacking, the hotel stored our suitcases which again, created more space. The rooms are quite dark in the bathroom area and the blinds are not blackout which, with the sun rising at 2am, ensures the kids are annoying even before they ask for a 5th bowl of chocolate cereal at breakfast. The gym is small and would need to be doubled in size with better equipment such as heavier dumbbells (max was 20kg), kettlebells, strength machines and perhaps an outdoor area. The sun loungers are comfy and the towel-wars mentality does not kick in until around 9:30 - 10am. There are signs everywhere clearly stating that after 30 mins if you are not seen, your bed will be singled out, ridiculed and all items removed. I never saw this enforced which was handy as my wife and I left it for over an hour to use the gym (the next day we panicked and used the kids as bed police). I did, however, see a prime position cabana have a token book on top with no visitors for 7 hours, they should have been marched out of the hotel. One further point on the pool area is that a third of the beds are placed under a tree with an active bird population. Nothing to keep you on your toes like the threat of an Avian flu outbreak. The hotel needs to find a solution. Value for money - Yes and whilst we try not visit the same place twice, I would return. It’s a very easy place to stay where kids are happy and the location gives you restaurant options with the beach / sea on your doorstep.

Great hotel at great location, from the terrace a great sea view. Excellent food and housekeeping services. Friendly staff as well. Overall great vibe experience.

Hotel Riomar had some real highlights, but isn’t quite at five star level. Highlights: The hotel’s public areas are beautiful, and the food/drinks were amazing. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Something to know: Ibiza has many beautiful beaches. The hotel is not on one. The hotel beach had a lot of litter and seaweed and the water was murky. That said, you can get to beautiful beaches with a rental car or taxi. Challenges with our stay: When we first arrived, our room wasn’t properly cleaned. Management was incredible apologetic, and we moved on from that blip and appreciated their attention. The first evening, we requested a towel refresh and more ice to the room while we were at dinner. They told us they’d take care of it, but it wasn’t done. Again, management apologized and comped our breakfast which was a nice touch. Smoking is allowed on the balconies of the rooms, which some may appreciate, but as non-smokers, this wasn’t ideal when the people next door smoked a lot.
