Great Stay at the AGH! We we‘re surprised that we got such a lovely hotel for relative cheap money in April. The location is nice, with a non-crowded sand beach right in front of us as well as some good restaurants near the hotel. The staff had been very attentive and friendly as well as the cleaning service. The Spa area and massage was also worth it. We would have wished for a few more vegan options during the breakfast or the hotel‘s restaurants. But that‘s alright if you can eat eggs.

“Perfect Position, Amazing Views, Lovely Team”

We had a wonderful 10 days at the Gran Spa hotel - we were on the 15th floor in room 1501 with spectacular views of the beach and ocean. The room was perfect a lovely place to sit and watch the world go by, no balconies on the rooms but to be fair we didn’t miss it. Also surprisingly quiet to say the lift was close by and a bar was 2 floors above. The team at the hotel were superb, we booked half board and the buffet did not disappoint, the chefs produced some fantastic food, the salads and freshly cooked fish & steak were excellent, very tasty and cooked to your liking, the food was as should be expected for a 5* hotel - buffet breakfast and dinner did not disappoint. The restaurant staff were efficient and hard working and a special mention to Yolande who always had a smile. We didn’t try any of the other restaurants in the hotel, but enjoyed drinks at the La Buena Vida and Blu on the 17th floor ( the cookie dessert and pancakes - when you miss breakfast! definitely something to find room for!) We ate out one evening, walking to the Marina to eat at Cabon Cabon - well worth a trip, excellent food and service and good value for money. The hotel spa is fantastic and I had a fabulous facial and the Spa experience is definitely worth booking and spending a few hours doing. We were worried when we read about the reviews of the sunbeds but had no problem with getting sunbeds on the second floor terrace, or beds or a cabana by the pool - around 4pm is the optimum time for the sunshine and when it got busy. The pool is clean and well maintained and a perfect temperature to cool off in there is a lifeguard on duty. The hotel also provided free deck chairs for Reducto beach - what a great idea and the beach is sunny all day long, there’s a few palm trees to get some shade and the beach has lifeguards on duty but watch where you go in to the sea, those rocks are slippy!! The Gran is a good base for exploring the island, there are buses and taxis right outside the hotel the buses are regular and on time. We went to the market at Tiguese, and walked to the Open shopping mall - that’s farther than it seems on the map! Good variety of shops and theres a lovely place to sit, rest your feet and have a drink to revive for the walk back! We also walked the length of the beach to the promenade and garden, there’s a cycle lane and looked to be some great facilities for children of all ages to play. There’s some brilliant bars along reducto beach, there was paving work going on when we were there, so huge fences have been put up but I suspect it’ll look lovely when they’ve finished ( the work was almost complete). The bar opposite the hotel, Mojio's is also worth a mention, reasonably priced and friendly. The Pool & cafe opposite the hotel, Islote de Fermina is a lovely place to while away a quiet hour or so, very peaceful, nice cafe, but the pool is not open, the waiter we spoke to said an artist designed it as a sculpture and it will never be open, but it’s still worth a visit, as is the Castillo de San Gabriel, especially if you’re interested in history ( wear trainers or shoes though the cobbles leading up to it are not sandal friendly!) but the views from the top are brilliant, (as is the ice cream at the cafe across the road from the Castillo ). We were ready for home after 10 days, but sorry to leave, a very special friendly hotel with a team the works hard to make sure you have a lovely holiday we’ll definitely be back to visit again.

Fantastic week at the Gran Spa hotel - requested a high floor and got room 1502 on the 15th floor with views of the ocean to die for. Staff at the hotel were superb and a mention to Yolande and Shino in the buffet dining room. Yes there are a few niggles like the lack of sunbeds on the second floor terrace but the hotel provided free chairs for the adjoining beach which was ideal. A good base for exploring the island or in our case a good place to chill out for a week ! Great bar opposite the hotel called Mojio's which is worth a visit.

“Great experience at Hotel Arrecife gran spa”

We really enjoyed our stay in march. Superb room hotel, staff and food Well done!!!! I would definitely stay there again. Richard
