After reading mixed reviews on this hotel I was unsure however I have nothing bad to say about it, we had the best holiday, food was great and with different theme most nights, entertainment was good especially the bingo and quiz night, I was worried that there wasn’t much to do around the hotel however the location is great you have a beach on your doorstep and a few cute shops and some really nice resteraunts, there is also a taxi stop round the corner which could take you to busier areas if wanted too. There was also a kiosk for boat trips over the road from the hotel with different trips we opted for the dolphin trip and it was truly amazing we saw loads of them! The hotel was great for kids too our daughter who is 5 loved the kids club and kids disco and the games room was amazing. Don’t let the bad reviews get in the way as this hotel was so great!

We’ve just returned from 10 nights all-inclusive with our two boys, aged 5 and 2, and we had such a lovely time. The hotel and facilities were great, and our room was always kept lovely and clean. All of the staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. The food was excellent and we genuinely couldn’t fault it. There was something different each night and plenty of choice to cater for everyone, including the kids. There was also so much to keep our boys entertained. They absolutely loved the mini disco and had the best time! A special mention has to go to Gerry from the entertainment team our boys absolutely adored him, and he was fantastic with them. He really helped make their holiday extra special. Overall, we would highly recommend this hotel, particularly for young families. We had a brilliant 10 nights and would definitely look at coming back in the future! The only recommendation we would make would be to have security at the main entrance and the beach gate, just for that extra peace of mind when travelling with young children.

We had a wonderful family holiday at Alua Gran Camp de Mar and would definitely recommend this hotel. The location is fantastic, right next to a beautiful beach with clear water. Our room was cleaned every day, towels were changed regularly and everything was kept very clean throughout our stay The food was one of the highlights, very tasty and varied, with plenty of choice every day and a great selection of seafood. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the overall atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming. We travelled with our 10-year-old child and really enjoyed our stay. The only small downside is that the sunbeds on the beach are not included and have to be paid for separately. Overall, a lovely hotel in a beautiful location, and we would happily return

Myself and my partner have just returned from our third stay at Alua Camp de Mar. This time we also brought our two eldest boys with us. I’ll start with the positives. The hotel is in a beautiful location and the views over the bay are lovely. The outside areas are also kept clean. Staff are out every morning washing down around the pool and clearing leaves etc. The food was a lot better than last year. I really struggled with it last time as it felt like there was a lot of food but a lot of nothing at the same time. This year it seemed to go together better and there was only really one evening where i struggled. They had a Mexican themed night and a Chinese themed night which were both really good. There’s a good selection of drinks and loads of cocktails included in the all inclusive. If you’re not all inclusive though, I do think the drinks and food at the snack bar are quite expensive. The adults only terrace is nice. You can rent the Bali beds for €25 for the day, but there are loads of normal sunbeds too and you’d never struggled to get one, even in August. The sunbeds down by the sea are out favourite. It’s much more peaceful down there. They’re free if you’re My Favourite Club or €5 each for the day if you’re not. There’s loads going on during the day and evening as well. The animation team do try hard but they don’t constantly hassle you to join in if you just want to relax. The not so good bits… parts of the hotel are starting to look quite tired and there are things that need maintaining. Some of the ladders going into the pool were wobbly, there were loose door handles and the lifts felt a bit shaky at times. The women’s toilets in the lobby weren’t always clean either and a few times there was toilet paper all over the cubicles. Although, staff do clean these areas and it’s more of an issue with guests not respecting the facilities. Housekeeping in the rooms wasn’t a good as our last visits. Some days it didn’t really feel like the room had been properly cleaned. Bins weren’t always emptied and dirty cups were sometimes just left there rather than being changed. Nothing major on its own, but over the course of the week you do notice it. We had Superior Frontal My Favourite Club rooms and unfortunately our boys’ room, 557, had quite a few issues. The patio door didn’t close properly and had a gap at the top, the air con was on but wasn’t getting the room properly cold, the bathroom door handle was nearly falling off and the cover on the distribution board was hanging off, which is a H&S issue. There were also ants in their room. There weren’t loads when we first arrived, but they got much worse as the week went on and by the end there were ants all over the floor, under the fridge and around the wooden panelling desk/ tv area. We raised everything as soon as we arrived. A technician came up to look at the room but couldn’t fix the patio door. She said she would need to speak to her manager and come back to it the following day. With the air con, she told that it was working. Which is was, just very poorly. We went back to reception again on our third day because the patio door still hadn’t been sorted. We were also told housekeeping would deal with the ants, but that didn’t happen and they got worse. By the time we left at the end of the week, the patio door and air con still hadn’t been properly sorted. We were there for a week, so there was plenty of opportunity to sort the issues raised. We paid alot of money for our holiday, especially upgrading to the My Favourite Club rooms, so we did expect better. Another little warning is about the drinks tokens. We bought some additional ones as the week went on. At the end they refunded the ones showing on our booking, but wouldn’t refund the additional ones that hadn’t been added to the room. So if you do buy extra, make sure they’re being put onto your room when you buy them. The other thing that put a bit of a downer on the stay was checkout. We’d been told that because we’d arrived at around 1pm on our first day, we could use our all inclusive until 1pm on our last day. However at 12pm checkout the receptionist went to cut our bands off. When we explained what we’d been told, we were told the restaurant didn’t open until 1pm anyway and really wanted to take our bands off. We did stand our ground and carried on using the facilities until 1pm, but it just made us feel a bit unwelcome as soon as we’d checked out. This bothered me because we’d spent a good part of our first couple of hours after arriving dealing with the problems in our boys’ room instead of actually enjoying the hotel rather than the all inclusive facilities from 1pm. Then a week later, those same problems still hadn’t been sorted. This was our third visit, and we do like the hotel. We wouldn’t keep coming back otherwise. I just think the rooms and some areas of the hotel need a bit of attention and some staff were not helpful. This stay didn’t quite live up to our previous ones, especially considering we’d paid extra for My Favourite Club, which is a shame because there is still so much we really like about the place. Although I can’t remember her name, but when I spoke to the lady on reception on the third day, she genuinely seemed concerned these issues hadn’t been addressed and was helpful. (She has been there for at least 3 years and an older lady).
