To sum it up, our stay at the Guayarmina Princess was magical! For context, this was both of our first times in Tenerife, staying at the Guayarmina, staying at a Princess hotel/resort and going all-inclusive! Let’s start with the food - it was delicious! For an all-inclusive 7 night stay we were sceptical that it would be very repetitive and unoriginal but we were proven wrong. Yes, there were chips and pizzas available most/every night but there was also so much more! And stuff we would never have thought to try if they weren’t at the buffet. In our opinion, the buffet was original, delicious and had a good variety of food, in terms of cuisine and veggies and meats! We did have a free meal at the a la carte restaurant (The Roast) included with our booking but we didn’t ever end up going because we enjoyed the experience and the food of the buffet so much - we didn’t want to miss out on an evening of it! Next: the facilities. The pool area and the pool itself was lovely. As many others have already mentioned, being able to book the sun beds took away any anxieties around reserving/fighting for sun beds. It was nice that the pool was divided into two sections too, with one side having aqua aerobics and volleyball led by the entertainment staff every afternoon. The evening entertainment was also one of the big standouts for us (alongside the buffet). There was a different act every night, all of them very talented and entertaining. Although all the acts we saw were singers, we appreciated the variety of music across the week. Most/all of them were tribute acts - not everyone’s cup of tea but we loved it! Another unexpected but highly entertaining experience was karaoke night! Karaoke night happened on our first night there and maybe it was the sheer lack of sleep mixed with the fact it was our very first day but it was incredible! (Most of) the guests staying there at the same time as us also happened to be incredible singers?! They were almost too good to be doing karaoke! Bingo on two of the nights was also a good filler between dinner and the evening show. What also made the experience at the Guayarmina was the staff! They were truly incredible. Hard-working, skilled and efficient whilst still being friendly, welcoming and patient! We want to give a special mention to Yane (one of the bar staff) - she was so lovely, not just to us but other guests too, and made us feel special. She is a credit to the hotel and its staff! When we were booking, we chose a ‘twin room with a limited sea view and balcony or terrace’. Upon arriving, we were very happy with the location of our room - we were on the very top floor and did have a clear view of the sea, just not front on! But it wasn’t limited by any means. I will note, we might have got lucky with our room as we could see looking around the hotel, there would be some rooms we would not have liked to have - such as rooms looking directly over the pool/evening entertainment area, rooms with inland views or views of the streets as opposed to the sea. The air con in our room was excellent and much appreciated in the 35 degree heat of Tenerife. We didn't find it noisy. Other things to mention: We booked through TUI - we appreciated the clear communication and updates we received through the TUI app regarding our airport and hotel transfers. We have never been to a non-adults only hotel/resort but we can imagine it would make a difference! So we very much appreciated the fact it was an adults only hotel. The location - we booked this holiday with the intention of not leaving the resort, so we didn’t really pay much attention to location when we booked it. However, we did venture out for a few hours on one of the days. The hotel is right on the promenade and has direct access to it and a beach. We walked along the prom and it had nice views and it was pretty! There were also lots of local shops along the prom selling souvenirs etc. We didn’t spend too much time exploring as it was so hot. We also walked to a nearby shopping centre (Plaza Del Duque) which had a lot of luxury shops - great if that’s what you’re looking for! Now for some cons… we really only have one. The only thing that kept coming up for us was cleanliness and attention to detail across all aspects/areas of the hotel. Though our hotel room was modern, it showed signs of wear and tear and the towels and bed linen had stains or marks more often than not. Tables at the buffet restaurant often had tea stains, crumbs etc left on them from guests that had just left - nothing major but just something we noted! And though it would be time consuming, the sun bed tables could do with being wiped down at the end of each day. All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday at the Guayarmina and believe it was worth the money we paid for it!
