Ive Been before the fire, refurbishment atm so only a select few rooms open. New rooms are lovely. Always clean here and friendly staff. I'm going back next year, hopefully the old bar will be newly completed and entertainment on again. It would be great if all inclusive was back as its stopping ... more

I'm going back next year, hopefully the old bar will be newly completed and entertainment on again. It would be great if all inclusive was back as its stopping a lot of regular visitors from booking here and they're going elsewhere

My partner and I have just returned from a 3 week holiday at the Albarada. This holiday was booked in 2020 but because of covid restrictions we have just taken it. After reading some reviews it was with some trepidation that we decided to go and we were pleasantly surprised. Yes the apartments are dated but are very spacious and spotlessly clean. Sheets and towels changed frequently and a powerful shower with plenty of hot water. Also anything we asked for, kettle, toaster, more pillows etc were supplied promptly and with a smile. The A I was not available but we were able to get drinks and tasty snacks at the pool bar between 10am and 6pm. The salt water pool was enormous and yes they do empty, scrub it and refill it every Thursday evening. No shortage of sun beds. The best thing about the holiday was the lovely friendly staff. From reception, house keeping and pool staff they always acknowledge you. A special thank you to Lorenzo at reception who helped us many times during our stay. This was a budget holiday and we had good value for our money. Would I go back, yes when the renovations are finished. Th e area is very quiet but there are some nice restaurants and shops there. If you fancy a bit more life the buses into Los Cristianos and Playa del America are frequent and cheap. 3 euros return.

My wife and I stayed at the Ona Alborada in Las Galletas, South Tenerife, for 2 weeks this April, 2024, self catering. I will break down this review into pros and cons for the hotel itself and for the surrounding area. HOTEL Pros: Spacious room. Quiet at night. Nice shower. Clean. Ground floor room with partial view of the sea. Short walk from room to pool. Huge sea water pool. Plenty of space around pool, so never felt crowded. Short walk to cafes, shops and marina. Cons: No A/C in room (some days it was over 30 degrees), just a fan in the bedroom. Few electric sockets. Nothing to hang wet clothes on, on the balcony. I managed to connect some string from a chair to a door handle! No bath. No restaurant, indoor bar or entertainment, just a small bar at the pool. Towels were only changed after 7 days, then 2 days before we left. No British channels on the TV. Early check out at 10. Our flight home was late in the evening and we asked the grumpy guy on reception if we could have a courtesy room to have a shower and he said no, but we could stay in the room till 2pm for 40 euros! We declined his offer. The day before we left, the pool was closed for cleaning. Outside the reception and pool areas, the fabric of the hotel looked unfinished and a bit run down. SURROUNDING AREA Pros: Reasonable prices for food and drink, compared to Los Cristianos. Selection of local cafes and restaurants. Cheap, frequent buses to Los Cristianos and Playa Américas (but rather crowded). Small quiet, traditional resort (if that’s what you want). Pleasant walk along the cliff top, promenade and Marina. Cons: A bit of a shock if you are expecting golden, sandy beaches! Tenerife is basically a barren, volcanic island covered in black rocks and a few, small, gritty beaches. Unless you are a very competent swimmer, I would not recommend swimming there as there are so many treacherous rocks below the surface, and it is often windy with high waves. If you are elderly or have any difficulty walking, be extra careful as the pathways are rough and broken.
