We are a family of 5 (2 adults, 2 children and a baby) and have just returned from staying at the Tenerife Sur. We were really worried after reading the reviews but we had the best time! We were given a ground floor apartment overlooking the pool, other than it being a little small it was clean and just what we needed. All the staff we came into contact with were lovely and always had a smile for us. The reception staff went above and beyond when our little girl managed to change our safe code - they had to call out the safe company to unlock it for us and it was free of charge. We felt very well looked after. We spent a lot of time at the beach which was a lovely 10 minute walk down the hill. We also ate out at the harbour every night- there are some really nice restaurants around. All in all we absolutely loved our time here and are already planning our next trip.

Tenerife Sur review Bit of a long review but please do read …. I was a bit apprehensive about staying here after reading some of the reviews but I’m glad we decided to ignore them and book anyway. We had room 301, top floor, on the corner facing the road, which was honestly not that bad noise wise and actually was a good room over all. Especially in the evening when it was warm we could open all the doors and windows and got the evening breeze which was ideal. Our room is I take it on the older block and is due a makeover, it’s a bit run down but it was clean and tidy and had everything we needed, no A/C but we managed to cope absolutely fine with the ceiling fans which were ok. The shower was a bit rubbish but did it’s job. Beds were really comfy we had 2 singles pushed together, bit annoying as they moved apart during the night. We paid for a safe for 9 nights which cost us 20 euros but I wanted to be safe rather than sorry after reading some reviews. Maids came in every day, made up beds, changed towels and bins bar one day but we never had our beds changed in 9 nights! We went half board (breakfast & evening meal) can’t complain about the food whatsoever all good in my book. Buffet style and a lot smaller than the bigger hotels but it was replenished quickly so it was never out of food. Drinks were separate you had to pay for them on a half board package. Pool area lovely, people do put there towels down early even before 7am but we are early birds anyway so that didn’t matter to us as we went and put our towels out before we had breakfast at 8am, I would advise to put your towels down before 8am as we had a lie in one morning and went for breakfast late and by 9:30am there were no beds, which was annoying and not once did I see any staff remove towels. Be careful getting out the pool as it is very very slippy there definitely needs something to be done about that, seen a few people slip, nearly slipped my self! My partner used the gym, if that’s what you want to call it! So basic, could do with some free weights being put in there and it didn’t open until 9am which I thought was a bit silly, should be open at 7am if not 8am in my book, especially in the heat! He ended up using an amazing gym just around the corner called Hammer Gym if anyone reading this is interested, it was €15 for a day pass or €35 for the week. There isn’t much wheelchair or pushchair access and there are lots of steps and no lift but we were in the older block and I think the new block has a lift but not sure but that didn’t effect us. Los Cristianos beach is a 15-20 min walk depending on your pace with bars and restaurants near by. Las Vistas beach is just a bit further along Entertainment was really repetitive it got very boring same singers, nothing for kids if you have any, we didn’t. All the staff were friendly and approachable Only gave it 3 stars as a few areas need updating and changing but overall would I stay here again - YES!
