Just back from a fantastic week at Marylanza as a family of 4 with a 14 and 10 year old. We were a little worried after reading some of the reviews but we had a wonderful week. We had a golf view room, although not one of the refurbished rooms it was spotless with cleaners coming in everyday. Our aircon worked great with my husband manging to work out the settings. Views were stunning and we loved that it was slightly cooler on the balcony with the sun not being directly on them. Beds were comfy enough for the week. Although we were ready to get back to our own comfort. Always lots of options with food, with some themed evenings. My daughter has a very restricted diet, we took food for her but she always managed to find something. Our only issue with the food was that my daughter did prefer the typical beige style food at the snack bar but she was unable to take this down to the outdoor area of the restaurant to eat with us. Therefore we ended up eating separately some days but this was fine. There were some rules in the restaurant that I found inconsistent. For example not allowing us to sit at the bottom of the restaurant as the tables were set for breakfast, we sat here due to it being quieter and out the way for my daugter who struggles to eat around others. We were told to move then other people were not asked to. I will add the staff were very polite when asking but rules should be consistent. The 2 restaurants were sold out when we arrived, this was not an issue for us and the menus are more for adults. Pool area is clean and we always managed to get our sunbeds together at any time of day. Lifeguards removed towels from unused sunbeds before 10am, this was one of the reasons we picked this hotel as there was no rush for the sunbeds allowing for a calmer morning. The green pool was spotless with a range of activities for kids and adults. This pool also has music playing. No food allowed around the pool. Which keeps the area nice and clean. Drinks allowed around the pool. The blue pool allows for inflatables. This pool could do with some work, both my children managed to cut themselves on the pool due to many missing tiles. This definitely needs addressing. Lifeguards provided plasters and helped to clean these but it should have been prevented. No balls allowed in the pool but I see the positives in this. We didn't go in the kids pool, although this was often closed off due to the wasps. (The day we left they were due to use a treatment to help prevent wasps in the area). All the staff were very helpful and friendly. Nothing was an issue. We arrived at the hotel close to midnight, we were offered a bag of food which was a lovely touch. Entertainment was fantastic some nights and not so great other nights but I guess this could be down to personal preference. I think it would be great if night time entertainment was on a little earlier and lasted a bit longer. Children's evening entertainment was not great and was often very quiet due to this. The lady running this was lovely but I think so much more could be done to enhance the experience. Shopping complex just over the road or a short walk down to the beach or main area. Taxis are cheap, we used these a few times to go down to the main shopping complex. Siam Park and Loro Park are definitely worth a visit. I checked into the spa for some treatments, these are an additional charge but were so relaxing and worth it. Check out was at 12 and we were able to store our belongings in the locker room. We were also able to continue using all the facilities for the rest of the day, including food and drink. We never visit the same place twice but I would definitely recommend this hotel to others. We loved that its not to big or busy.

“Reasonable 4 star hotel.”

We were quite worried about our stay here after seeing some of the negative reviews pop up after booking. Whilst we have stayed at better hotels this is definitely near the top of our list of good hotels. We found the staff to be polite, helpful and cheerful. The room was spotless & cleaned every day. The pools were good and we liked the policy of removing towels from unused sun beds. It meant that no one had to get up at the crack of dawn to reserve one. We did notice the dreaded smell that others have mentioned and it is something we have experienced in other hotels in other places. The smell was from outside, nothing in the room itself. It also comes and goes. We picked up a €2 air freshener from the local shopping centre and never noticed again. There were some wasps around but the hotel is dealing with it. We found them to be more like dozy bees than the “give me all your picnic” type we have in the UK. They had no interest in food or alcohol and a waft of the hand got rid of them. The food is what you would expect from an all inclusive buffet. Some nights were better than others but always found something to eat and I am a really fussy eater. We knew that there were some refurbishments going on when we booked but this did not bother us. I think we heard banging on one day. The evening entertainment was quite good fun. Most nights there was some sort of acoustic act on by the pool which we quite enjoyed. We also took the kids to two of the nights in the entertainment area which they really enjoyed. Don’t worry, you will have a good time!

A lovely resort, but some big issues need addressing We recently stayed at the Marylanza Hotel and, overall, we had a mixed experience. The hotel itself is lovely, and we had a beautiful view overlooking the golf course. Our apartment was clean and tidy, and I think the hotel will be really nice once more of the rooms have been upgraded. Unfortunately, the biggest issue for us was the lack of air conditioning in our room. This seemed to be an issue for quite a few guests while we were there. We asked for it to be looked at several times over three days before eventually being given a fan. We were travelling with a 12-week-old baby, and our room was still around 30°C, which was extremely uncomfortable and stressful., and unfortunately the heat in the rooms really let it down. 6 people in a two bedrooms with no air con is sweaty!! The beds were okay — pretty standard for this type of resort — and the beautiful golf-course view was definitely a highlight. The food was okay. Some days were definitely better than others, but I suppose that can be expected with most all-inclusive resorts. Breakfast was never an issue, but I did struggle a little with the choice at dinner. I’m not a particularly fussy eater, but there just wasn’t a huge amount that appealed to me. There also didn’t seem to be enough choice for children — pizza and chips seemed to be the go-to most days!t. Snack bar was nice and your standard burger, chips etc but you could get a nice toasty here!! The other two restaurants I can’t comment as they were fully booked when we tried to use but they looked very nice. The gym is also not included in the all-inclusive package, which we found disappointing. It was an additional £35 for the week, I didn’t use it personally but my daughter said it’s definitely worth tha I also found many of the staff to be quite rude and, unfortunately, generally quite miserable, which did affect our overall impression of the hotel. Pool area is good! Although baby pool was closed due to a wasp issue, I can’t complain they closed it, better to be safe than not, one of my children did get stung still around the pool twice, from them in the grates. Location of hotel is really good!! We ventured out day / night and it takes around 15/20 mins to get to the main areas for beach / bars restaurants etc. We did enjoy our stay minus a few issues and there are definitely positives to Marylanza, and I think once the rooms are all upgraded and the air-conditioning issues are properly sorted, it could be a really lovely place to stay. For us, though, the lack of air conditioning, especially with a young baby, was a major issue and something that really needs addressing ASAP!!

Nice quiet Location free upgrade to hibiscus suite very clean hotel 2 bars pool bar and the lobby bar Very comfy beds and large walk in shower free upgrade does not include the use of the rooftop bar and pools for adult only. Drinks are branded and the vodka slush was great cocktails are pre made and not frozen. Cruz campo and Amstel on tap. Food selection was not really for us and we ate out a few times while there we had friends staying local to another hotel Pools 1 lively pool with music and games through the day and no ball games allowed or inflatables in this pool. The other pool you can use inflatables in both clean and warm and plenty of sun beds available throughout the day.. Smoking or vaping only allowed on your balcony or outside front of hotel Renovations works not really herd but music loud so never a problem. Our air con broke mentioned it to the rep who sent someone out to fix it. It does not work like an ice box but does make a slight difference Location was fine for us about 10 walk to the beaxh downhill and 15 to restaurants and bars Small shopping complex to the left of the hotel which has supermarket and H&M and sketchers shop along with 2 nice bars that serve very nice food if you fancy a change. I Can reccomend the strawberry daiquiri very good and fresh strawberry
