We booked our holiday to Altea through TUI, and Cap Negret was one of the hotels they recommended. I’m pleased to say it proved to be the perfect choice for our family holiday. The hotel is approximately a 45-minute coach transfer from Alicante Airport, with just a couple of drop-offs along the way. Check-in was quick and straightforward, and the reception staff were welcoming and friendly from the moment we arrived. Throughout our stay, the hotel was immaculately clean. The rooms were spacious, well laid out, and comfortable. We booked one sea-view room (at an additional cost) and another overlooking the car park. While the sea-view room was lovely for relaxing on the balcony and enjoying the scenery, we mainly used the rooms for sleeping, so the view wasn’t particularly important for us. We opted for the bed and breakfast package as we enjoy exploring local restaurants while on holiday. Breakfast exceeded our expectations, offering an excellent variety of food. There were plenty of healthy options alongside the traditional cooked breakfast, with something to suit every taste. The hotel also has a gym and spa. The gym was very well equipped and, like the rest of the hotel, spotlessly clean. My only minor criticism is that it doesn’t have any cable machines. Aside from that, it has everything needed for a good workout, including treadmills, exercise bikes, free weights, a Smith machine, and a good selection of resistance machines. We didn’t make use of the spa during our stay. The swimming pool is a great size and has direct access to the beach. It features massage jets, plenty of showers, and a poolside bar and restaurant serving drinks and snacks throughout the day. During our visit, most of the guests appeared to be families with older children (around 10 years and above), along with a few babies. We travelled just before the school holidays, so the atmosphere was relaxed and never felt overcrowded. The beach itself is clean, well maintained, and has a lifeguard on duty. It’s worth noting that this is a pebble beach rather than a sandy one, so I would strongly recommend bringing or buying water shoes, as they make getting into and out of the sea much more comfortable. The sea was beautifully clear, refreshingly cool without being cold, and perfect for cooling off after a morning’s walk into town. Altea is only a pleasant walk from the hotel, and the seafront promenade is lined with excellent cafés, bars, and restaurants, creating a fantastic atmosphere both day and night. The highlight for us was the old town, which sits on the hill overlooking the coast. It is absolutely stunning, with charming cobbled streets, independent boutiques, art galleries, souvenir shops, and wonderful places to eat and drink. We found ourselves walking up there every day, whether for a morning coffee or an evening meal. The church at the top is particularly beautiful and offers spectacular views across the coastline. The hotel also provides evening entertainment every night, with a varied programme of performances and activities. Although we didn’t spend much time watching the shows, the entertainment team were enthusiastic and friendly, and the daily aqua aerobics sessions in the pool were always well attended and looked like great fun. Overall, Cap Negret exceeded our expectations in almost every way. It is a clean, comfortable, and well-run hotel in an excellent location, with friendly staff, great facilities, and easy access to both the beach and the beautiful town of Altea. If you’re looking for a relaxing holiday with the option to explore a genuinely charming Spanish town, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Cap Negret. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily return in the future.

We stayed as a part of a wedding party for a week - during which the weather was very hot. We were booked in by Danny, one of the receptionists on duty and he could not have been more friendly and helpful. Nothing was too small for him so hope the management give him our thanks. Our room was very comfortable - if a bit sparsely furnished with a very good bed. We were on half board so had a variety of meals and all I can say is that the food was excellent every time. A very good variety and plentiful. Also, very important, bar prices were very reasonable - a glass of wine was 3.50 euros and a half litre of sparking water well under 3 euros. All the staff were very friendly and helpful - a special mention to the lady who serviced her room. She deserves a managers thank you The room air conditioning was very efficient in the very hot weather mid to upper30’s

Perfect stay, everything is clean, efficient and well run. Particularly liked: 1. No reserving sunbeds longer than 20 minutes. This meant there was always a lounger available any time of the day. 2. Excellent pool area and views with beach access (people beach take water shoes or buy at local supermarket). 6. Great location. For fit and healthy among us you can walk the coat in both directions. Albir is beautiful. 7. Easy access to the tram line. 8. Fair bar prices for a slick well presented hotel. No complaints to be honest and certain we will return. I hope this family run hotel never sells out to the big chains as they have perfected it.

Location good but stony beach so make sure you wear something on your feet. Pool area very busy and don’t seem to be enough sunbeds to go round. Location good but stony beach so make sure you wear something on your feet. Pool area very busy and don’t seem to be enough sunbeds to go round. Be careful walking around pool area barefoot as it is very slippery, one guy falling yesterday and getting concussion. It’s very difficult to move around because people close the walkways by moving beds etc. One pool toilet cubicle for several hundred people is not good enough. Food is good and staff very helpful. Hotel is clean and situated about 20 mins walk from promenade and seems a long way in the heat.
