The resort consists of a number of villas laid out on a large area of land. Widely spaced so it is very quiet. It is just off the main road, but there is a 7-11 close by and a restaurant on the other side of the road. Apart from that not much outside of the area. Friendly and efficient reception staff and transportation to the room. The room is big with an extra couch, a fridge with complimentary water, a balcony and a bathroom with toilet and shower. All is not new but in good condition. The aircon is a bit loud. There is a coffee machine, but the cups need to be purchased at 50 baht each. WiFi works well, only annoying the repeated request for log in. At night the room is very dark. There is a large pool (about 30 meters long, 1.20 m deep) with around it enough reclining chairs. A bit spartan, no cushions, as with the chairs on the balcony. The hotel is situated on the beach front.There is some music from the bar but not too loud and bit away from the bar it is quiet. The restaurant serves mainly Thai food and sometimes here is some live music (mostly Thai songs). Breakfast is very extensive and service is friendly. There is the inevitable music to entertain you, but if you prefer to unwind more quietly you can sit outside or by the pool. All in all this place is good value for money.

Reasons to avoid this property: 1) Customer service is sub par. The staff would do well with some training on proper customer service. The unit I stayed in had air conditioning issues. A mechanic was sent to repair the issues and spent half the day in my room and the adjoining bonus room with a couch. They fixed the leak in my room but the air conditioner for the bonus room was out of commission. Despite my communicated intentions of wanting to work on a book I am writing in the bonus room, they simply explained there will be no air conditioner in there. As a standard in the hotel industry they should have moved me to a different room even though there were plenty available. When I suggested they move me to a better location they explained if they moved me there would be a 500ThBht extra charge per night. 2) Grounds are in disarray. Everything is overgrown and relatively unattended. Upon arrival I noticed a fresh pile of dog crap on the greens near the large fountain. On day two it was still there. It wasn’t until day four that it was finally removed only to be replaced the next day with a fresher one. When I inspected the grounds more closely I notice there were several piles of dried dog feces littered throughout, what would otherwise be, a beautiful grassy walking area. 3) The pictures of the large swimming pool look wonderful but as you get in the pool you will notice large gaps in the tiles filled with spongy mold. The swimming pool was never scrubbed down in 6 days I was there. The private pool enclosed within my fenced bungalow was slightly better. 4) Breakfast. The first day the complimentary breakfast was robust. It mainly caters to a Singaporean or Malaysian preference but being an avid lover of Asian cuisine, I found it quite enjoyable. There were a few western accommodations such as an omelet station and some cereal. The second day however was reduced to half the original selection. The omelet bar was gone. The Thai coffee station was absent, the line of chafing dishes had been removed and guests were limited to cereal, fruit, salad, and some breads. The third day the selection was stripped down again but this time they offered us a menu where we could order an omelette or other dishes. While this correction was welcome there was no apology for the previous morning. Such a basic service should have been well established for the price of this resort and it’s 7 years of existence. 5) The immediate area is desolate and without many options. If you are looking for a place you can walk out of and experience a variety native cuisine or just hit up a small store for some everyday essentials, this is not the location. Before selecting this resort I researched the surrounding area as I did not want to be in downtown Huahin. There appeared to be a variety of restaurants and stores to my liking however upon arrival I was greeted with something quite different. Your only saving grace is a 7-11 just about a hundred yards from the Coral Tree Villa entrance. While there is a restaurant right on the corner of the entrance it is rarely open and looks to be a little seedy. On a positive note, the beach was nice. Also, you can grab a ride to Huahin for their night market or the Market Village Mall for just 200ThBht. With the Grab app you can usually get it for about 160 but not a lot of drivers want to come out to this desolate area anymore because visitors have decreased and the odds of them finding someone needing a ride back isn’t worth their time.
