This is situated on a WW2 POW camp for those forced to work on the Burma Railway. Hellfire Pass is only a short distance away. Our arrival was efficiently dealt with and we were show to our “safari” style tent. These some might consider basic but are perfectly adequate and we wanted for nothing. Ensuite toilet, hot shower, comfy beds etc what more do you need. We stayed were 3 nights. From this it appeared most people stay here 1 night and as such they cannot really appreciate the place. There is a small museum about the camp and a cross by a bit of rail track to recognise those who died in or near the camp. We had breakfast, lunch and dinner included. The food was brilliant and if occupancy levels allow the evening meal is a buffet/BBQ in the open air. The service was very attentive. There are a number of activities offered by the camp. On our first day our designated guide, who I just cannot recall his name, offered a pole boat ride, village walk and jungle trek. I had stained my foot a few days before and the long walk at Dubai Airport had not helped so I had to pass on this but the wife enjoyed it. The next day was at our leisure. There is a message center near to the bar. To my mind the main asset is the Hintok Bar. This overlooks, from a vegetated cliff, a bend in the River Kwai. We spent there early evening in here just taking in the view and a few birds. The sort of place you could stay at forever. All the staff were great, friendly and attentive.

“Wonderful clamping site”

A wonderful clamping site, tents were so comfortable, fully air-conditioned with bathrooms, a real treat. Food was amazing, BBQ night was excellent and breakfast was first class, staff were all very lovely can definitely recommend

Another great experience to visit Hintok River camp. Last was in 2012. But although some changes were made to the camp, it was again amazing. The location, views and staff were great. Another great experience to visit Hintok River camp. Last was in 2012. But although some changes were made to the camp, it was again amazing. The location, views and staff were great. We were actually met by the same guide we had in 2012. Lam. Immediately we recognised him. Again he did an amazing job and gave us and our friends (first time here) a great experience. Can only recommend this great experience. Museums, Hellfire pass and sailing on the river Kwai.

“A Very Nice Experience.”

nice camp. served our need for the bridge over River Kwai. nice people. good food. the "tent" was very comfortable. nice bed with decent linens and towels. nice front desk.
