“Tiny room with thin walls”

We stayed at Koh Mueangkarn Paradise View Resort for one night. The raft hotel experience is quite common in this area. The property is a little run down. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was extremely small and walls seemed paper thin. There is no kettle in the room. There is a minibar. The shower is part of the toilette space. Dinner was good and the evening ambience on the raft dining are was really nice. Breakfast was ok. Next time I would look for a separate (larger) raft bungalow. (Not one where all rooms are connected)

To be fair, I'll start with what I dont like first, before telling people about what I like at this place.... What I don't like: - the quality of materials in the room, the blankets and towels were very thin, and do not work well - the blanket could not keep you warm, the towel was not thick enough to dry you off. - the propaganda music during the rafting trip in the morning, it ruined the ambient as we drift along the river in the morning, that was super annoying. it was loud, so repetitive (they replayed over and over, and over, and over). honestly, I wouldn't mind if there're going to play it before the raft took off, but not the whole (or half of the trip) before my friend asked them to turn it off. What I like: - the staff were helpful, friendly, and polite. The receptionist was able to help me when I need something. The rafting staff tried to tell me what to do and what to expect from the experience. The garden who I think he's from the local gave me a bit of information of what people in the area are like, and what attractions I should visit. - The location for my room was great. It was on the raft. It was on the river. There's a balcony where I can sit and dip my feet into the river, it was so peaceful and relaxing. - Apart from 2 meals which were included, the price of snack, tea, coffee, drinks were reasonable. It's a little higher than normal but it's understandable - Wifi was available. It was not always accessible but I know it's because of my phone. -

These are nice enough rooms on rafts, with good views and decently set-up. Meals were good, the setting is pretty, but the facilities are a bit improvised and erratic. These are nice enough rooms on rafts, with good views and decently set-up. Meals were good, the setting is pretty, but the facilities are a bit improvised and erratic. I'd seen them listed as 4 star on Google, I'd say they were more a middle of the road 3 star. I'm not sure how they compare to others on the river, but if this is what you want, there's nothing wrong with this place, and it's an unusual experience.
