First of all…to the groundskeeping staff…what an exemplary job you do each and everyday to make this resort something special. The gardens are just beautiful and the work involved is massive and didn’t go unnoticed…thank you for the extraordinary work you do and in the heat..incredible! To our Jaew who kept our villa so well stocked and cleaned throughout our 12 day stay…..we thank you. You are an absolute angel and we loved your zest for life and fun sense of humour. A true star ⭐ We stayed in a Tongsai Pool Villa and it was fabulous. Just what we needed and the view….something else. We were very spoilt to be given a villa with such a view…it won’t be forgotten. The two restaurants open were Rhoy Rhoy and Fish Tales. Absolutely top notch. The food is so incredible and a huge shout out to the kitchen team who are just wonderful. The breakfast was awesome and overall food just delicious. Now…to the most wonderfully incredible people who looked after us. You are all true professionals and have left a lasting impression on us both. From the gardeners to reception, F&B, housekeeping, pool attendants and the spa. I’m speechless. The service was flawless. To the beautiful Pim, Kookik, Tong, Don, Carlo, Cha, Tang, Khim, Reen, Bamban and Pu at Rhoy Rhoy.. You treated us like family and we will not forget your warmth and genuine hospitality. A really special shout out to Pim and Kookik…you are both very special people, and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the care you showed us. To the wonderful Fon, Obb, Bew, Sai, Su, Sakrai, Ying at Fish Tales we thank you for taking such good care of us everyday at lunch and when we had dinner and drinks also. A special mention must go to Fon…your generosity and thoughtfulness will never be forgotten. You are truly beautiful and I can’t wait to send you pictures of my curries 😊 We had several facials at 8Elements and they were amazing! Lucy and Mai…you are extremely talented at what you do and we thank you for our wonderful treatments. Bassy who manages the Spa we thank you for your kindness too. To Jazz who welcomed us on our first day…we thank you for the blessing on arrival and it truly was a blessing to stay in this incredible resort. A very special place indeed. We’ve recently returned from a 7 night stay at the Garrya Tongsai Bay hotel. We chose this hotel as it was one of the top rated hotels in Bophut on Tripadvisor and I’m so glad we made the right choice! On arrival, we were welcomed with a lovely cold towel, welcome drink and a band which was tied around our wrists. This set the tone for what we knew would be a peaceful and mindful stay. The hotel is set on the beach and away from all the noise of Koh Samui making it a fantastic sanctuary. We were chaperoned to our room which was huge and had a lovely display on the bed for our anniversary. We kindly requested we be given a room on a higher floor so we could enjoy the view so the hotel managed to accommodate us and we were moved to an even more fantastic room two days later. The new room was smaller than the first one but we were on the 3rd floor and we had amazing views. The balcony was really big and it was great to have a shaded area as well as sun loungers if we did want to be in the sun. There was also a very helpful clothes stand so we could allow our swimwear to dry quickly along with a bath Highlights for us were: The staff - they were all super friendly and always made an effort to say hello. Special shout out to Kookik who always greeted every guest by first name. I’m still in awe of how she remembered so many people's names on a daily basis. The older gentleman who gave out towels by the pool was so lovely and worked very hard Yoga classes - we really enjoyed the classes with M. There was just one occasion where a guest decided to start filming the class without asking permission so we had a polite word with her. It would help if the hotel could remain guests to ask permission before videoing / photographing others Breakfast - amazing! We would have a very long breakfast as there was so much choice available. The lady who cut the fruit was super friendly and always happy. You can order off a menu which is great especially if you want Indian dishes such as daal or roti We ate at Fishtails twice and the food was excellent. My partner is vegetarian and the staff were very accommodating and said they could make most of the meat dishes as vegetarian by using tofu instead which gave him more choice Mark is a fantastic manager. He made the effort to speak to the guests and I loved that he helped out in the restaurant too. This shows his dedication to his staff as well as guests We took the paddle board, kayak and catamaran out a few times which was a great way to enjoy the water and see more of the surrounding area I got a lot of mosquito bites so appreciated the complimentary repellent sprays we were given. They can be topped up if you need more at reception The little touches that the hotel do - we had flowers on the table for our first breakfast and then a cute bon voyage biscuit tray and “see you soon” letters on the table at our last breakfast Improvements: It would be great if there were some non smoking areas around the two pools. We did have to move on a couple of occasions as some guests were smoking quite persistently Housekeeping missed turn down on a couple of evenings  Helpful tips for your stay: If you’re travelling without kids, use the half moon pool. This is a lovely infinity pool which was much quieter in the day. It wasn’t manned but there were always towels, cold water and a phone if you needed to order anything. The staff would also bring cold towels, snacks etc there daily  The beach isn’t sandy and has tiny pebbles which can be uncomfortable on the feet. We took reef shoes which were a godsend The hotel offers a complimentary shuttle service to Choeng Mon Beach. It’s worth visiting but it’s quite basic so manage your expectations re restaurants. The beach is much busier there so we were very glad we’d chosen Garrya Tongsai hotel rather than some of the hotels along that beach There is a bit of a climb to walk to up to reception and breakfast but you can call the buggy service if you’re not up for walking in the heat We got a Grab taxi to Fisherman’s Village a couple of times. It’s really busy there and full of tourists so we didn’t like it but we can recommend Thai Tapas for dinner and Coco Tams for the daily fire show Cocoon viewpoint is a nice restaurant to visit for the sunset In summary, this is a fabulous hotel where guests can completely relax and be taken care of. Mark and the team are incredibly friendly and ensure that nothing is too much bother

If you are looking for a great experience during your holiday stay in Koh Samui, then this is the property to choose. From the moment you arrive, you feel genuinely welcomed at every step. The entire team—from the front office and restaurant staff to the buggy drivers and security personnel—goes out of their way to make your stay comfortable and memorable. A special mention to the wonderful lady at the fruit salad counter every morning (fondly known as the “Chop Chop Lady”). She brought a smile to our faces every day and made breakfast a delightful experience. The person who truly makes you feel special, valued, and treated like royalty is “KOOKIK”. Garrya is privileged to have a team member like her. Her warmth, professionalism, and genuine care for guests are exceptional and left a lasting impression on us. We will definitely come back to Koh Samui, and this property will be one of the main reasons for our return. Thank you to the entire team for making our stay so memorable. Highly recommended!
