The hotel is ok, it really depends on what you’re looking for. We stayed for 1 night and decided to move on to another hotel because it wasn’t for us. The price of the tops rooms here was the same for a really nice room with sea view at a much nicer hotel. (Anda Lanta Resort) but we did book these all the night before so prices far in advance may vary. It has a good size clean pool and lots of sunbeds right on the beach. The beach is long and sandy but very little shade from any trees etc. I’m very pale so struggled with the lack of shade here. We didn’t have any food or drink here other than breakfast. Breakfast is basic, they have everything you’d want. Hot food, cereal, fruit, pastries, tea, coffee etc but it’s basic and not that nice. The room aren’t so nice. Again it depends what you’d like. For a place to sleep and not spend much time it’s fine. But the beds are rock hard and thin. I wouldn’t recommend it if you’re older or have back issues. The bathroom was clean and shower fine but the sheets did have a lot of stains on. You have a couple of chairs and small balcony off your room but it’s not the nicest place to sit. Staff are really nice and very helpful. There’s a great restaurant, No1 on trip advisor, called Malians, just up the road which is really nice and cheap too. Overall, it’s a cheaper feeling hotel with the basics. If you just want sun and sand it’s fine. If you want something a bit more relaxing, luxurious and with more options for everything then I’d go to Anda instead I question.

The location on long beach is lovely, with clear water and no rocks. The hotel is called Nakara but now incorporates Lanta Long Beach Resort, which is why there are two large pools. We spent the first night in a superior room which was a semi detached bungalow with an adjoining interior door, should you need it. This always means that the sound proofing between rooms is bad. We could hear every word from next door. After the first night new guests arrived with a very young baby. We decided that we wouldn’t put up with the crying so asked to be moved. We ended up in a detached bungalow on the Long Beach side of the hotel. It was much quieter but very run down. Breakfast was basic. The omelet station was disappointing only offering ham, onion and tomato for fillings, no cheese anywhere at breakfast. The area around the pool wasn’t cleaned while we were there, three nights, so the sun beds and wooden floor were dirty.
