Best hotel we have stayed in out of all the hotels on our 2 week holiday in Thailand. The views are spectacular and i cant believe its 3* it definitely should be rated higher. Cant fault this hotel, its in a perfect location on railay. we had a lovely peaceful stay. The staff were super friendly and helpful, the breakfast was good and the rooms were clean spacious and the beds were soft and comfy. We would 100% return to this hotel.

“Fun”

The pool is their best feature! Rooms were pretty good. The hotel is on the highest point, you need to take a longtail taxi to reach Railay beach. Just be aware of this. It is fun and adds to the experience. There were ants in the coffee all three times I tried to make a new latte so maybe stay away from their coffee machine.

“Great customer service”

The staff at Railay Hotel were genuinely helpful. They heated up my food in the microwave and stored items for me in the freezer. The shuttle bus runs every hour, and you just need to message them on WhatsApp to be picked up. My room was lovely and had a nice balcony. Staff were friendly, spoke goo… more

The staff at Railay Hotel were genuinely helpful. They heated up my food in the microwave and stored items for me in the freezer. The shuttle bus runs every hour, and you just need to message them on WhatsApp to be picked up. My room was lovely and had a nice balcony. Staff were friendly, spoke good English, and I didn’t need to use Google Translate at all. The location is uphill but has a cozy, tucked-away feel, and there’s a bar on-site. Overall, the customer service was much better than what I’ve experienced elsewhere in Thailand. On the downside, there’s a trail on the way up to the hotel where monkeys hang out—I actually had to run away from them, which was a bit scary, and I wasn’t aware of that in advance. The shuttle doesn’t go all the way down to Blue Pier, so you’ll need to carry your bags part of the way. Vegan options at the buffet were very limited. I explained my dietary needs on the first day but wasn’t accommodated. After speaking with the night staff (Fang), they did provide me with a custom vegan meal the next day, including rice, noodles, and vegetables. I also had to push a bit to get coconut milk, but they eventually brought some later that same day. Keep in mind as well that the hotel is not on the mainland — you’ll need to take a boat, which costs 100 THB each way, so factor that into your budget and planning. Good hotel overall, but issues with service and Wi-Fi Railay Phutawan is a beautiful hotel with an amazing view. Although it is a bit far from the center, the free hourly shuttle makes it convenient. The room is comfortable, the breakfast is good, and the reception staff were friendly. However, the Wi-Fi is quite poor and unreliable, which can be frustrating. We also had an unpleasant experience at the restaurant on the evening of March 14, 2026. Due to some difficulty with English, the waiter reacted inappropriately, raising his voice and saying: “He comes to Thailand and doesn’t know how to speak English.” He also mocked our request for food without pepper (“no pepper”). After that, we chose to dine outside for the rest of our stay. All other staff members were polite and professional, and this seemed to be an isolated incident. Apart from these issues, our stay was good, and I believe management should be aware of them.
