During our recent trip to Krabi /Phuket from india to celebrate my better half’s birthday ,we did a bit of research and decided to make a bit of extra effort to travel and stay at Railay beach Krabi for two nights instead of only at Ao Nang and we were glad that we did. We booked this beautiful resort Sand Sea resort -The Sand sea resort is accessible only by longtail boat -from Ao nam pier to East Railay side -where there is a floating pier and from Ao nang to the west railay side where you have to waddle through water to get in or out of the boats . We landed at Phuket early morning and booked hotel pickup and were comfortably transported to the resort. The resort extends from west ( sunset side or wing ) to the East side ( sunrise side or wing) The beauty of Railay peninsula is that within a short walk across one can within minutes cross from east ( sunrise ) to west (sunset ) and we witnessed the beauty of both . The main beach and their pool and restaurant is in the west side while from east side one can see sunrise and walk along to phra nang cave and beach The grand deluxe room we had was very spacious,well equipped with all amneties including bath tub and a huge balcony The breakfast is Sumptuos and satisfying One can just turn right from the west sied and within a short distance one reaches the market /restaurant street which comes alive at evening/night There are three pools in the resort . Overall a delightful place to spend a relaxed beach holiday without traffic ,cars and bikes disturbing you . Staff is courteous and helpful .

I'm pretty sure all of the railay hotels are similar standard apart from the 5 star one that cost about 3k a night. We had a nice big room with clean bedding and towels with cold aircon. I'm pretty sure all of the railay hotels are similar standard apart from the 5 star one that cost about 3k a night. We had a nice big room with clean bedding and towels with cold aircon. That's all we wanted and expected really. Breakfast wasn't amazing like in phuket and bigger areas but it had enough choice and the coffee was good. The service we found to be excellent. They organised our pick up from the pier both arriving and departing and room was cleaned daily. The biggest attraction is the location. Right on the West beach with beautiful views at Breakfast. If coming back to Railay which I'm not sure we would I'd have no hesitation to book here again unless we won the lottery and could afford the 5 star joint.

“Great beachfront location”

Stayed here for a couple of nights. There are 2 receptions at this hotel. The ones at the “main reception” at the big entrance were very money oriented and from the welcome experience to check out their primary conversation was about money which while I understand if you are due to pay on arrival or have items to settle but we weren’t even asked if we had a good stay at the end just told we had a bill to settle which was purely money for the boat transfer that we had been fully aware we would be paying still but before has a chance to ask that’s all it was. The other reception staff the other end the breakfast staff and the men who helped with the luggage and drive the buggies were great and offset fortunately the experience we found from the other end and we only needed to deal with those ones on arriving and check out. The room we had was one of the cabin type rooms. Basic enough but clean and secure. And wanted to enjoy the experience of being in there and with the free roaming monkeys outside the room this made it so much better. Breakfast was great with a wonderful view of the beach couldn’t ask for a better location and not too far to walk from our rooms. Was hard to get a sunbed unless you were up super early to reserve one think they could definitely do with a few more beds. All be it the beach was right outside from the pool there was little shade in the beach so for those seeking shelter wasn’t a lot of room Walking street was just a few hundred metres walk and plenty of selection but dinner at the hotel restaurant wasn’t as expensive as we had expected it would be. This hotel does not serve alcohol and we weren’t aware of this but had no bearing on our stay but a few other were a bit put out so worth mentioning. Had a great stay here and scoring 4 still not letting the few less friendly staff knock it down. Absolutely worth staying for the location and experience of staying at railay for sure.
