“A bit too expensive for what you get”

I have stayed at the hotel rooms (not the freshly renovated bungalows) twice before and must say that the rooms are a bit run down. The price has almost doubled since last year which is a shame considering that the rooms are rather basic. Generally speaking, the place is kept very clean and the staff is very kind and helpful. However, the rooms has still no kettle or complimentary coffee/tea nor a hairdryer. Both can be borrowed from the reception but are not integral part of the room. The furniture is a bit battered and basic: there is only an open wardrobe with 4 hangers but no closed unit. I miss having a chair and table in the room; I used the balcony furniture which is rather uncomfortable. The rooms has a well working aircon and a fridge. For the wifi you need to get a new voucher every few days. The bathroom is a "all in one" room where tge shower is not separated and everything gets wet. Altogether it's a good place but needs a bit of refurbishing and modernisation.

I stayed in 3 types of room: Deluxe villa: the best of the three, renovated bathrooms and well located near the beach Superior villa: same as deluxe villa but with urgent need of renovation bathroom and a long walk away from the beach Deluxe room: forget about them, they look and feel like a cheap motel room. The place is nice quiet, very different from Railey that seems more like a shopping mall during a busy Saturday afternoon. It would be much nicer if it had a pool since when the tide is low you cannot swim in the sea. And yes, the mattress beds are hard, even for me that I like hard beds

The location is beautiful, and the beach itself was great for swimming. However, the vibe seemed to cater more to backpackers and rock climbers than to travelers looking for a typical beach stay. One thing we didn’t realize before arriving in Krabi is that you must take a boat to get there. There are no roads or vehicles, so everything is done by long-tail boat. That was definitely something I wish I had known before booking. We also hiked from Tonsai to Railay beach when the tide was high, and it wasn't very pleasant. With luggage, you'd never make it. It would have been helpful if the staff had provided more information or better communication about things like transportation and getting around the area. Unfortunately, there was very little instruction or guidance from anyone working there. The bar staff was great, though—they kept the atmosphere lively, which was fun. The on-site store was extremely expensive, and the massage area seemed like wasted space since it didn’t appear to be used much. Our room was nice but a little outdated, which I guess is expected for the price. One thing that stood out was that the room didn’t have any chairs, so we had to bring in chairs from outside. The TV also wasn’t working. Staff came quickly when we called to fix it, but once they left, it stopped working again, so we just left it. One tip: walk behind the resort. There are several small shops, restaurants, and bars back there. We ate at Legacy and had a really good chicken sandwich for 200 baht. Overall, it’s a nice place if you’re looking for peace and quiet. For us, it wasn’t quite the right fit. We ended up cutting our stay short and heading to Ao Nang Beach, which turned out to be the best decision for our trip.
