We are currently staying at the Aspara resort Hotel and from as soon as we arrived we were treated as special guests with a lovely reception being dealt with by Suzy at the desk wh could not help enough. The hotel is right on the beach and has great facilities. The beach bar karkonis is stunning, and the staff here, as in the rest of the hotel, were always smiling and ever so helpful and I particularly enjoyed the staff joining in on a sin song. During our stay Golf the manager arranged a trip for us having a private all-day trip which was stunning and exactly met our expections. Cannot wait to return to this stunning venue.

On our last day staying at this beautiful hotel. This was a trip to celebrate my husband and i 60th birthdays. From the moment we arrived to our last day the staff couldn't do enough for you from Suzy the receptionist who checked us in to the front desk manager Golf who helped us arrange a private tour they were so helpful. We had a swim up room which was really lovely being able to have a dip from ur room. We had an issue with our bed being too hard on arrival which was quickly sorted out with 2 mattress toppers. The beach bar staff were also so nice and friendly always smiling. We also had a massage which was excellent. We stayed here for a week and it was a lovely way to spend the last 7 days of our 16 night trip to Thailand. I would highly recommend this beautiful hotel which is set in a stunning location with beautiful sea views and wonderful staff. I will always remember my stay here it's a slice of heaven thank you Aspara so much.

This is our first visit to Thailand after experiencing many other amazing countries over the past 30+years including The Maldives last year. I have to say this is up there in the top 3 countries we have visited and top 3 hotel/resorts. We chose Bed and Breakfast and after 2 weeks we are confident we made the right choice, not saying anything about the hotel food but with the variety around within 5 minute taxi ride why would you. My apprehension prior to coming was not knowing the hotel cost of drinks and food having been caught out in the past with Hotel over pricing. We had a poolside swim up room which was amazing but the bed was firm, after a Call to reception a mattress topper was added for our comfort. The pool Water is lukewarm warm due to the hot weather we had so unfortunately not refreshing but none the less a pleasure to have. The main pool looks like it’s been re tiled recently which looked stunning in a white marble effect. The room side pool does need a refresh with tiles etc but as this is a bonus pool it was no worry to us. There is a fridge in the room and a small shop 1km from resort we stocked up with coke and beer approx 16baht a can 30p, pringles 60baht £1.30 The poolside bar serves lovely smoothies, beers, iced coffee, cocktails etc approx 100-150baht £2-3, also 2 happy hours in the day late morning and late afternoon so you can have buy one get one free. In your room there is tea and coffee but we chose to bring our favorite tin of coffee from home and each evening the bar would give us a glass of milk to add to the coffee. When it comes to eating out for a start the breakfast was superb with decent variety and a fresh omelette station, the hotel gave us one eve free meal on the evening buffet, this was very tasty but my only criticism is the food is not hot enough for the western palette, only luke warm therefore we not choose to go there again. The poolside restaurant/bar has an amazing pizza over where you can order pizzas for average 400baht £6 which were excellent along with choices of other exiting dishes. If you cross over the bridge to the villa side and walk down to the beach you have memories beach bar serving incredible authentic Thai food where a meal and drinks for 3 adults usually cost around 1200baht. £30. We often went into Khao Lak using local taxis which are pickup trucks with seating in the framed buck which carry Upto 8 people, The porters call the taxi and it arrives within 2 minutes and cost 600baht £12 return, this is where we found a couple of amazing Thai restaurants. We had a private tour with Mr Kung to James Bond island this was a highlight for us as he picked us up and had a boat trip personalized to the 3 of us which is much better than going with a large group with the confines this brings. We also went to the Elephant sanctuary behind memories beach bar where we fed the Elephants and enjoyed watching there delicate nature. People say we shouldn’t visit such places as it’s for tourists but unfortunately if we don’t visit these Elephants then they will more than likely have to be put to labour uses as the cost to feed without the tourist paying for the food and upkeep would become untenable. The staff were amazing and couldn’t do enough to help make your stay the best it can be. On our last day I spoke to reception to ask about keeping our room as we get picked up at 8pm, the lovely lady at reception said as there is no one in your room after you then yes no problem, this has made the end of the holiday so much easier. A tip to make the holiday even better would be a flag style system on the sun bed so the staff can see when you require a drink, this would be a little touch to enhance enjoyment. Also potentially a sale type canopy stretched over Part of the pool for added shade would be lovely. Use a mosquito fogging machine on the lower pool floor corridor to help get rid of the mosquitoes. Negatives are yes there are some mosquitoes near the doors to our pool Rooms But this is due to the humidity that the pool rooms generate, just make sure you swish them away before opening your door and you shouldn’t have an issue. In our 2 week stay I got bitten approx 3 times so not a big worry. Yes we will be back even if it’s just to see the smile on Kenny’s face every morning we went for breakfast or the young lady in Karkinos poolside restaurant. I am sure we will be back. Thank you.

A beautiful setting and hotel - staff second to none special shout out to Ray and Wae at the main restaurant as they were amazing professional but at the same time friendly and seemed genuinely interested in our plans for the day. Food on the whole is good although repetitive. Drinks very good but again can’t understand why can’t get a drink at beach bar but can fr them from Illia and take them across baffles me . Evenings there is little or no entertainment and even at our ages were pretty bored of an evening. A la carte excellent use both your tickets at Napoli cos cheap as chips to eat at Kinneree. Both have lovely food and sometimes it a treat to get served rather than Go yourself. Excursions go to night market and book with them do not buy Tui as they double the price - we booked through the one in middle of night market and they were fabulous. You can wander behind Memories bar at beach in front of Apsara. Villas and there small elephant rescue where you can feed bathe elephants - nice walk after breakfast and a thrill to feed these gentle beasts.
