Such an amazing hotel, the staff are incredible. The entertainment team and bar staff are on a different level. Would recommend this to everyone and anyone, great for family’s, couples, or groups of friends. Everyone is so friendly and very attentive.

The hotel was lovely. The staff are fantastic. The animation team were good. Very friendly and safe place to be. The hotel itself was spotless and decor was very nice. The room we had was a sea view and very comfortable. All in all had a lovely week and will be returning.

Iberostar Port El Kantaoui Bay The points in this review, as well as being to assist potential visitors are also to assist the Management of the hotel with the best of intentions, to praise where appropriate and to help identify areas of potential improvement. To be clear, the hotel is excellent but for us was let down in one area which you will see from the points below. We stayed here in May after an early flight and,  after a short wait, the hotel worked well to get our room available for check in at 11:30am instead of 3pm which we appreciated. The flip side of this of course was that normal room cleaning could be late in the afternoon as housekeeping tried to get rooms ready for new arrivals plus our room was at the end of a corridor which meant it was one of the last to be cleaned each day (around 4pm). We received an nice welcoming drink and got our first taste of how helpful and friendly the staff are. The staff, in all areas, were so helpful and friendly throughout our stay. The Room We paid extra for a sea view room when we booked. The room itself was spotlessly clean and well maintained by the housekeepers. The beds were comfortable and we generally slept well. The room had very good and relatively quiet air conditioning, in fact one of the best we have experienced. Some things that could be improved though are: ·       Sea view room we were in (233) had most of the view blocked by the Spa building (see picture). ·       The mini bar only had a bottle of fizzy orange and a lemonade in, no beer or spirits and you couldn’t fit the glass bottles of water in to keep cold. The tea and coffee making facilities have no milk sachets or powdered milk, meaning you go all the way downstairs to the bar for some milk to be given a whole carton, when we only needed a splash which we thought was wasteful. ·       Poor tv choices - Only 2 tv channels in English and one of those was BBC News, so if you are from UK and you like to relax in the evening with a spot of tv then this place is not for you. Food and Drink ·       This is a Muslim country so don’t  expect bacon (although I did see some mixed with veg on our last day) or ham for breakfast or indeed pork at any meal. Because of that, breakfast for us was only ok. Although there were other things available I just had a omelette. “Fresh” orange juice, is blended rather than squeezed and mixed with some  bottled juice means the pith is mixed in with it. I heard the food was amazing, but it’s not, it’s just ok and the usual issue of what goes with what, that you find in almost every all inclusive hotels,  rears it’s  head again. The salads are excellent but a lot of dishes do not have a label. Individual items are good but there are dishes and dishes of sauce type things but no idea what they are, same goes for the desserts. The hotel was busy when we stayed and the evening service was hectic. In fairness a table was always found but once served with your first drink the offer of another didn’t always happen. ·       Drinks are OK. The beer isn’t very strong but is nice enough and always cold but a number of the branded names (of which there were very few visble) on the menu weren’t available e.g. Cointreau and Baileys...the local alternative to which turned out to be a local Tia Maria type drink. ·       Prosecco and sparkling wine costs extra even on all inclusive ·       Still water for the room is in heavy glass bottles making it difficult to take down to beach/pool area before bars open at 10 and you cannot reseal it once the cap is off. My wife had a stomach upset and was up all night and needed to drink plenty of water the next morning. “Iberostar don’t do plastic” I was told at reception. So I couldn’t get a plastic resealable bottle of water to take down to her and the bars hadn’t yet opened. The alternative would have been to carry a heavy glass bottle down to the sunbed (it was 8:30am) which you cant reseal and comes with the risk of dropping it and having broken glass all over the place. I appreciate the eco sentiment but not the lack of water availability prior to 10am. Other points  Basically there are 3 areas for sunbathing, the pool, the garden and the beach. For us the pool was a little crowded, just a preference of ours and we tend to avoid it. The private beach area is good with a nice breeze and the beach sellers don’t approach the sunbed area. We preferred the garden area which has the sun all day, no parasols but there are trees and it is quieter which suited us. Drinks service is very good wherever you sit and Khamaies looked after us well with great service and a smile. The Animation team also do a good job and not too in your face, although we didn’t interact too much with them we appreciste the work they do. My wife used the spa which she tells me was good and excellently low prices. Would we come again? Probably because of the cleanliness and service but the in room facilities and water issue would need to have improved.
