It is a nice hotel, however during the high season (july and august) the prices are crazy. Standard room is nice and tidy, access to the swimming pool easy, very close to the Gundogan beach, breakfast could be a bit more fancy (soluble coffee and no scramble eggs). Many different restaurants close by also. Basically you expect more for the price you pay in high season (nicer breakfast, english speaking staff, maybe welcome drink)

“A nice budget hotel by the seaside”

We've stayed at this hotel in July, for 8 days. The location is just perfect, and hotel has its private beach. The hotel is very clean, and the rooms are very nice. We've stayed at this hotel in July, for 8 days. The location is just perfect, and hotel has its private beach. The hotel is very clean, and the rooms are very nice. The view of our room was great, as we were staying at the top floor. The staff is very helpful. Breakfast is weak, but they serve fast-food type food all day. But there are - may be - 50 restaurants on both sides of the hotel, with all kinds of food with perfect taste, and with low prices. So, I recommend not to eat your lunch and dinner at the hotel, and try the restaurants. This is a perfect family hotel, and the region is very good for outdoor activities. In short, I recommend this hotel, if you are planning to have a nice and budget holiday with your family.

Butik Han hotel is a basic, no-frills hotel in Gundogan Bay of Bodrum Peninsula, about 30-minute drive from Bodrum town. First, the good: The hotel has an excellent location, smack in the middle of Gundogan Bay. It is virtually on the beach, so you can get from your room to water in two minutes flat. The hotel has several lounging chairs reserved for its customers and provides beach towels (pesthamals). It has two small but functional and clean pools for those who prefer pool (but why would you use the pool when you are only minutes away from the clean, refreshing waters of the Aegean?). Butikhan provides fixed breakfast every morning. The breakfast, which includes Turkish cheeses, jam, bread, other pastries, fresh fruit, tea, greens, tomatoes, eggs, etc. is much better than what you would find in a typical American / European hotel breakfast, but is also far short of the legendary Turkish "serpme (spread)" breakfast that some other hotels and restaurants provide. The staff tries to be very helpful; however their lack of training shows (see below). So, what can be improved: The facilities show their age, and it is clear that the hotel went cheap and failed in trying to give a false sense of luxury. Depending on which room you are in, any one of the amenities (including the fridge, shower head, A/C, etc.) may or may not be working. When alerted, the admin tried its best to resolve any issues. The food serving staff, while trying to be very helpful, and doing their best, is clearly undertrained. You may need to ask multiple times to multiple servers to finally get all you asked. The restaurant section is not well-organized, and frankly, the food is not that good. Fortunately, there are many excellent other choices along the Gundogan beachfront. The prices are high for what you are getting - particularly in the high season - so, I would rate this hotel as "average value."

I shared a room with my wife and 25yr old daughter. We loved the sea front location although the facilities were a bit short of our expectations. I shared a room with my wife and 25yr old daughter. We loved the sea front location although the facilities were a bit short of our expectations. We were there in October which is off season in Turkey. Probably this is why we had trouble with hot water, the pool was out of service and breakfast was a bit thin. Staff were very friendly however a bit slow to respond to our requests. We had booked six months in advance which was a mistake because you can get accommodation at much cheaper rates at much better places at short notice during off peak periods in Turkey.
