The Pirat hotel Kalkan turkey whilst not being a four star rated hotel is utterly worth this rating , from our arrival at some ungodly hour of the morning to our departure the staff were amazing ! On our arrival we were shown to our rooms ( unlike a certain hotel on Lanzarote where we were left to find our own way in a vast maze like hotel in the dead of the night ) this young chap carried the bags and even made sure we were connected to the hotel WiFi a huge bonus for a techno tw_t like myself ,being on a bed and breakfast booking we found the usual fare cold meats cheeses fruit omelettes and their version of the full English totally acceptable nicely presented and everywhere spotless , that's one of the most noticeable things about this place the cleanliness of the place no grubby little corners no scruffy little areas a general sense of everything being sorted , the rooms are cleaned everyday endless towels / toilet rolls , toiletries / the little things that make you think ( this is nice ) Then the staff nothing is too much trouble from the guy carrying the suit cases on arrival on arrival to the staff in the restaurant / pool bar ( the food being great )everything had that slightly up market feel , the remote control in my friends room ceased to work , the guy was there to replace the batteries before we got from the reception , the whole place was nothing out of the ordinary but everything they did was done well , so I can have absolutely reservations in recommending this hotel .

Myself and a friend have just returned from a 9 night stay at Pirat Hotel and can thoroughly recommend it. We booked a standard room each but did end up with a sea view with our rooms next door to each other. Our rooms looked more updated than the pics online. Our rooms were comfortable with a double bed, single bed & a day/sofa bed. I did find the bed a bit uncomfortable as it was hard but this is just down to personal preference. There were thick sheets (almost like a blanket) on the bed but the lovely cleaning lady gave us large, thin sheets instead which was more comfortable. My bathroom did have a bit of an odour issue but I decided not to move as I was otherwise happy with my room, being next door to my friend, short walk to pool and breakfast and also the views. The aircon worked great, there was a kettle and minibar with the basics in. The only thing the room lacked was a safe. The balcony was small but adequate. Before I booked this hotel I was concerned as I didn't think it had a lift and reviews mentioned about the many steps. However, when we checked in at 2am a lovely staff member took our bags up and talked us through how to use aircon etc. There was a lift in our main building that went up to the pool level and the level where our rooms were so we only needed to walk up a few steps. From check-in to check-out, we could not fault the staff. They were always professional, courteous & friendly. From the reception staff to cleaning, bar & breakfast. The breakfast offering was ok but we tended to opt for the omelette station. They were very tasty but they could do with a few more fillings to choose from. Also, the omelette station didn't tend to be open first thing, which was a shame on days when we were going out early on trips. They offer freshly squeezed orange juice for 3 euros each. The pool area was clean, comfortable and quiet & I always managed to get a sunbed, even when I went there at midday. You still get the usual people putting their towels down before breakfast and not using the sunbeds until a few hours later so I'm not sure how the sunbed situation would be in peak holiday times. There is a large, unused terrace where the lift is that could be utilised for seating and sunbeds. There is a little shop underneath the hotel which is handy and we made use of the hammam too, which was good. The hotel is in a fantastic location, right on the harbour. There is a taxi hut directly outside too with a button to call a taxi. Just opposite the entrance to the hotel there are steps that lead up to a huge selection of restaurants, bars and shops. Also there are many places to choose from along the harbour with a walkway from there up to more restaurants and bars. At the end of the harbour there is a small beach. So location really is great for this hotel. As the hotel is very central you can hear music until about 2am but this wasn't loud enough to keep us awake. When I return to Kalkan I would stay at this hotel again.

“You rarely meet a first time visitor at The Pirat”

We have just returned from my 5th and my mother’s 12th holiday at the Pirat. You could say we like it! The view over the harbour can’t be beaten and the welcome by the close team of staff who remember guests year after year is fabulous. We have just returned from my 5th and my mother’s 12th holiday at the Pirat. You could say we like it! The view over the harbour can’t be beaten and the welcome by the close team of staff who remember guests year after year is fabulous. Everywhere is very clean and the rooms ample if not luxurious. The bar is welcoming and convivial without being lively or rowdy. We’ll be back. Save our room Havva!

“Harbour view”

Rooms excellent, breakfast excellent, pool bar excellent, staff excellent, room service excellent, hotel prices good, soft drinks? £££. Fantastic view from pool bar. Great location overlooking harbour, lots or bars, restaurants nearby, boat trips etc. Only issue was overcrowding around sunbeds, too… more

Great location overlooking harbour, lots or bars, restaurants nearby, boat trips etc. Only issue was overcrowding around sunbeds, too close for my preference, when its full its full, towels on beds early. If your a group better stay on poolside accommodation so you can throw your towel from your balcony, when its quiet its fine. Had an issue on day one but was sorted within 20 mins, no other issues at hotel for remainder of my stay. Would def re-book with a sea view, lovely place and lovely people.
