We had a brilliant week at the Paloma Grida in Belek. Beautiful grounds, really gorgeous room (we had an upper floor lagoon suit) and it was fab. Lovely pools, great food and really nice cocktails which is not always the case with all inclusive hotels and fantastic entertainment (daytime and night time) special shout out to Samir, we loved his aqua aerobics classes, great fun and a really nice guy (it’s me, Scotland :) Also loved the morning yoga at the pier and was sad I only made a couple of them. If you’re there when the Venezuelan band is on then you are in for a treat. One of the best bands we’ve seen and a brilliant atmosphere down at the beach bar. The accapella band were fab too. Loved the evenings at the bar at the beach, had an almost Caribbean feel. Brilliant. Waterpark was great, kids club super and staff really nice and helpful especially at reception. All in all a brilliant holiday which we were very sad to leave. Would definitely reccomend.

I totally forgot to write my review of our 2nd visit to this hotel. We visited in April and we had another amazing time. This visit was staying in the new lagoon suites and they are beautiful. We didn't get to use the lagoon pool much as it's not quite warm enough when we visit but I loved the pool area and our service was great especially from Kaan. There is a lagoon area where there are toilets, snacks and drinks too which again, was a nice touch. Service, food, drinks were all great and this has become a very special place for us as a family. We loved lunch and was always looked after by Yalçin. It is a high quality hotel where the staff will do anything for you. I enjoyed my birthday in a cabana where again, we had great service for the extra cost with the lovely Serket looking after me. We hope to return for our 3rd visit in the future.

“Amazing 100% review”

Location only 10 min walk into Belek town where there are shops and restaurants. The only down side to atmosphere when we visited three years ago before the renovations the daytime atmosphere was a lot more interaction around the pool. Location only 10 min walk into Belek town where there are shops and restaurants. The only down side to atmosphere when we visited three years ago before the renovations the daytime atmosphere was a lot more interaction around the pool. We treated ourselves to a swim pool, which was amazing. The staff are all lovely and it was was fab to see previous staff members they told us that the hotel look after them very well. Value for money that’s a good one. The food is really good in this hotel. We’ve done lots of Turkey hotels and this is one of the best. Would we visit again? 100%?

We recently stayed at Paloma Grida and, unfortunately, our experience was very mixed. First, the positives. The hotel itself is a lovely resort. The food was very good, the cleanliness throughout the hotel was excellent and there were many aspects of the resort that we really enjoyed. The staff were generally friendly and the facilities are impressive. On the basis of the hotel alone, there is a lot to like. However, as a family travelling with significant accessibility requirements, our experience was extremely disappointing and has left us questioning whether Paloma Grida, together with TUI, properly understands what accessibility actually means for disabled guests. We had specifically booked and paid for a Premium Two Bedroom Lagoon Suite. TUI and the hotel were aware of my disability and mobility requirements through our special assistance arrangements, and I had also contacted the hotel before travelling to discuss our needs and ensure suitable accommodation would be available. Despite this, when we arrived at around 1am after a long day of travelling, we were told that our booked room was still occupied and were given a Lagoon Duplex instead. The problem was that the main bedroom was upstairs and could only be accessed via an internal staircase. For a disabled guest with mobility difficulties, this was fundamentally unsuitable. At 1am, after a full day of travelling, we were effectively left with the choice of me attempting to negotiate stairs that I could not safely use, potentially having to drag myself upstairs on my bottom, or our elderly mother-in-law and 12-year-old son sharing the downstairs sleeping arrangements. This was not simply an inconvenience or a room preference. It created a genuine safety concern and an incredibly stressful and undignified situation for a disabled guest. What made it particularly difficult to understand was that our accessibility requirements had been communicated in advance. The replacement accommodation also fell well short of what we expected from a five-star resort. The downstairs beds were effectively hard and uncomfortable sofa beds with inadequate bedding. The following morning, our son also discovered ants underneath and crawling around his bed. We eventually moved into our booked Premium Two Bedroom Lagoon Suite at around 2pm the following day, meaning we lost almost an entire day of the accommodation we had specifically paid for. Even then, the room wasn’t completely ready, with bedding needing to be replaced and the minibar not yet restocked. To be fair, the hotel did try to offer some compensation and assistance. We were offered complimentary cabana use for the remainder of our stay, although these were unfortunately of no practical use to us because the narrow paths, sand and heat made them unsuitable for my mobility scooter. The hotel also arranged an additional à la carte restaurant visit and provided a guaranteed late checkout from our booked suite, which was particularly helpful given our late departure and my disability. TUI also offered a £50 goodwill payment. We appreciated these gestures and the fact that the hotel did try to do something, but they don’t address the fundamental issue. You cannot compensate for giving a disabled guest accommodation that fundamentally does not meet their accessibility requirements by offering a cabana, restaurant visit or late checkout. Those things are extras. What we needed was the accessible accommodation we had booked and paid for in the first place. What was particularly disappointing was the lack of understanding of the impact this had on us as a disabled family. The distress, anxiety, physical inconvenience and indignity caused by the situation seemed to be treated largely as a standard room allocation problem rather than an accessibility failure. For disabled travellers, accessibility isn’t a luxury or a preference. It is something we have to be able to trust the hotel and tour operator to get right. When travelling with a disability, you put considerable trust in the information provided by the hotel and TUI because you need to know that the accommodation will actually be safe and usable when you arrive. Unfortunately, that trust was badly shaken during this stay. The hotel itself is good. The food and cleanliness were excellent and there is plenty to enjoy. But for disabled guests, I would strongly recommend confirming accessibility requirements in writing directly with both the hotel and tour operator and making absolutely sure that the specific room allocated is genuinely suitable before travelling. Our experience has highlighted that there is still a significant difference between offering something that is described as “accessible” or providing goodwill gestures afterwards, and actually understanding the practical needs of a disabled guest. I genuinely hope Paloma Grida and TUI learn from our experience and improve how accessibility requirements are communicated, checked and acted upon. Disabled families should be able to arrive at their holiday with the same confidence as everyone else that the accommodation they have booked will be safe, suitable and ready for them.
