My wife and I had a wonderful time at the Ambassade Hotel. The hotel is centrally located on a beautiful canal street. The hotel staff were cheerful, friendly, professional, and helpful. Our superior deluxe canal view room was spacious, clean, well-appointed, tastefully decorated and had a nice balcony that overlooked the canal. The bath was roomy with a large walk-in shower and well-illuminated. We arrived 3 hours prior to check-in; however, they graciously allowed us to check-in early since our room was ready. The Brasserie (French-inspired cuisine) restaurant was delightful. Our server was fantastic and he made you feel relaxed and welcome. It was obvious that he really enjoyed serving people. The food was delicious and of high quality (duck confit, Dover sole, oysters on the half shell). Prices in the restaurant were reasonable. My only minor criticism is that Amsterdam hotel prices are high. We would definitely return.

The location, the staff, and the hotel itself was a fundamental reason our trip was exceptional. The location overlooking the Herengracht is just by the nine streets district— walking distance from essentially everything we wanted like the museum quarter, the rail station, restaurants, Vondelpark, etc. The staff was exceptional—especially Vin— and made our stay very comfortable. The food at the hotel was tremendous too and the atmosphere was laid back with sophistication.

We just finished our second stay at the Ambassade. We again enjoyed our stay there but felt that the staff was just a notch below the excellence we experienced when staying there a year ago. The hotel was totally booked and we stayed in the Grand Suite because it was the only room available. We actually preferred the canal view room we had last year. The location in the 9 streets area is perfect and is in walking distance to everywhere.

Our stay at Ambassade Hotel turned out to be very different from what we had planned. We had a very nice room with a view of the canal, and were excited to explore Amsterdam. Two days after our arrival, my wife became quite ill and had to be transported to the hospital, and what was supposed to be a vacation quickly became a stressful and uncertain experience. Throughout it all, the staff at Ambassade Hotel treated us with extraordinary kindness, compassion, and professionalism. Every interaction, from the front desk to the concierge and the rest of the team, was met with genuine concern and a sincere desire to help. They patiently answered our questions, assisted us whenever we needed support, and made a very difficult situation much easier to manage. When you're traveling far from home, simple acts of kindness can mean more than words can express. Isa and all the staff helped us feel cared for and reassured during one of the most challenging parts of our trip, and we will always remember their warmth and hospitality. The Ambassade is a wonderful hotel, but what truly sets it apart is its people. We are deeply grateful for the care and kindness shown to us, and we wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Amsterdam.
