“Rooms need update!!!”

The hotels location and the staff were brilliant! Very easy to explore Amsterdam from here and staff were very friendly. The lobby and public areas were beautiful so the room was even more of a let down. Based on downstairs I was expecting the rooms to be nice too but unfortunately I was disappointed. The biggest issue was the bathroom which smelled awful! It was a sewerage kind of smell. The bathroom was also very small with virtually no room for toiletries around the sink. I know I could have brought this to the staff attention but I did not want to lose the room with the canal view. It was the best part of our room and if we got moved to another room that wasn't much better than what we were in without a canal view I would have been so mad at myself so i went straight out and bought a reed diffuser to try and cover the smell. There was a massive square that was a yellow/cream colour while the walls were white. There was clearly a picture or something hung there before. The headboard had lighting around it but it only worked on 1 side. The coffee machine was temperamental to say the least. We stayed there for 3 nights and housekeeping never came into our room either. That didn't even bother me too much but I thought it was a little bit odd. The photos of the rooms are very deceptive but the photos of the public areas are accurate they were really nice. Overall I was disappointed and I wouldnt stay here again.

“Amsterdam city break”

Great location for exploring Amsterdam, but the hotel bedrooms need to have some money spent on them. Ours had peeling wallpaper! Breakfasts were good too

The hotel is in a great location, with easy access to both the airport and Amsterdam city centre, which made getting around very convenient. The reception and downstairs areas are modern, welcoming, and give a good first impression. Unfortunately, the rooms did not match the standard of the public areas. Our initial room had a toilet that would not flush properly, meaning we had to move rooms shortly after arrival. Both rooms felt quite dated, and there was a noticeable damp smell throughout our stay. Cleanliness was also a concern, with dust visible in several areas of the room. Housekeeping seemed inconsistent, and the overall standard of cleaning did not feel as thorough as expected. While the location and communal areas were definite positives, the condition and cleanliness of the rooms let the hotel down. With improved maintenance and a more consistent housekeeping service, this hotel could offer a much better experience.
