Great location just off canal and short walk to Trams. Plenty of restaurants and shops for your sweet tooth close by. The staff were all very friendly and helpful including Fredrick or just Rick who did both my check-in and check out. His wonderful personality,smiling manner and countless funny stories make him an absolute pleasure to deal with. A great renovated room with everything I needed for my 4 night stay. Thanks so much will highly recommend to friends.

“Great Location/Great Hotel”

Hotel Nes met most of our needs during our recent trip to Amsterdam. The hotel is perfectly situated on the Kloveniersburgwal canal. It’s a 5 minute walk across the Kloveniersburgwal/Nes bridge to a bustling “downtown” area with shopping, stroopfwafels, sidewalk cafes, etc. Additionally, it’s a straight shot, 20 minute walk, up to the Central Station, the location of all our day trip excursion meeting place. It was a 20 minute walk to the Anne Frank House, another lovely area close to the hotel. Along with the location, all the staff were friendly, helpful, pleasant, especially a young man who both welcomed us at check-in, 4/8@2:00PM and bid us safe travels upon check-out at 6:00AM, 4/13. I wish I knew his name 🤷🏽‍♀️…He was late 20’s-ish, med. build, bushy hair 🤷🏽‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️ Breakfast was good. I would suggest including it if you’re an early riser; most cafes close-by don’t start opening until 8:30AM-ish. Breakfast included eggs, cereals, meats, cheeses, breads, juices, coffee and teas, buffet style in a comfortable lounge. Additionally, tea and coffee are available through the day and in to the night. Our room, #304, had a wonderful view. The view from the bed was a softly lit clock, across the canal, on the side of the Tivoli Hotel (?)that cast a warm glow into the room. The bed and pillows were comfortable. The bathroom was large with (2) sinks and a large shower. Our only limitation with the room was its size…”small” doesn’t really capture it; two of us couldn’t pass together around the bed. And, if I could offer a suggestion; another hook, close to the shower, to hang towels. We were two in the room, each using 2 towels/person, with one hook made the extra 2 towels finally resting place a challenge🤷🏽‍♀️

“Great location, noisy and a bit unkempt”

Great location centrally located in the red light district but be aware this means there is increased street noise most of the night. Our room was canal view, beautiful, but loud all night. Great location centrally located in the red light district but be aware this means there is increased street noise most of the night. Our room was canal view, beautiful, but loud all night. The building is interesting and historic but not excellently maintained in the rooms or common areas. Feels more like a nice hostel than a $400+ person night hotel (high season). No fridge, no tissues/kleenex in the room, no AC (radiator only for temp control). The economy bathroom has sinks under a shelf making things like brushing your teeth a challenge. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The beds were comfortable. The shower was roomy.
