We stayed a weekend at Hotel Pagi with the expectations of 'we're only going to sleep here, cos we'll be out all day' and that we did! We got a room at the very back on the top floor, view out the window was a concrete wall (we weren't there to sit looking at the city but to be OUT in it!) so as it turned out the room was very quiet - no one walked past, no roads outside or noisy neighbours. The room was cold but the bed was super comfortable and warm which was a blessing after being out all day in the chilly november weather. Popped down and used the coffee machine at reception in the mornings before heading out. The staff were pleasant, especially a young girl that we chatted with for a while! Super central, cheap, small and narrow but hey - its an old building in the city centre so you can't expect pure luxury - go with an open mind.

Very good central location, friendly and helpful staff, useful to have coffee facilities at reception. Room had a window but for privacy reasons we had to keep the curtains closed  almost all the time so not really worth having (windows of building opposite were very close) . Very good central location, friendly and helpful staff, useful to have coffee facilities at reception. Room had a window but for privacy reasons we had to keep the curtains closed  almost all the time so not really worth having (windows of building opposite were very close) . The mattress kept sliding off the bed at the slightest movement, which was slightly annoying. No Aircon, the fan and the open window had to do the trick. The ensuite toilet/shower room was uncomfortably small.

“A pedestrian-friendly location in the heart of Amsterdam”

The hotel staff was always friendly and helpful. Though our room was small, it was comfortable. And while the bathroom was also small it was entirely adequate. The hotel staff was always friendly and helpful. Though our room was small, it was comfortable. And while the bathroom was also small it was entirely adequate. One downside was that, in order to get to our room, we had to climb two rather steep staircases. Nevertheless, the big plus of this hotel was its amazing location in the heart of Amsterdam. Directly across the street from the Rokin metro station, and on one of the primary tram lines, the Pagi is also easily walkable to Centraal Station. In fact, its proximity to nearby restaurants and bars make the location a perfect place to allow daytime and nighttime exploration of central Amsterdam.

Location spot on for sight seeing and exploring Amsterdam. Reception staff friendly and helpful. Rooms basic but never intended to be using for anything other than to sleep and change. Beds were comfy. Noisy outside till around midnight then all goes quiet. Shower gel provided and rooms can be cleaned every day if requested. Luggage room to store your bags on your check out which alloqed us to have a great last day. I would recomend this hotel if looking for a value for money, central location to explore Amsterdam.
