“Rooms are not as good as photos on the website”

The first impressions of our room was disappointing as the website makes these serviced apartments look very upmarket, whereas in reality our room was a little tired and unclean. I also thought we had access to a swimming pool but this was a private swimming pool for the most expensive apartment only, I didn’t find this clear on their website. The location is very noisy late at night and early in the morning. Every night over 5 days we were woken up by noisy people leaving the bars close by. It was pretty constant. We were also woken up by locals driving past our apartment pumping extremely loud music in their cars. We understand this is out of the control of Soho Point, but for travellers considering staying here you should pack ear plugs if you are a light sleeper. On the positive side, we had great service on call when we needed help from the Soho Point staff like changing light globes that failed, extra towels and toilet paper, and help booking taxis to and from the airport. The location (aside from being noisy at night) is a great base to explore the trendy Palermo area that has a great vibe. There is also a big Police presence in this area with surveillance cameras everywhere so we always felt safe. It’s also walking distance from many fabulous restaurants, cool bars, and places for breakfast. Keep in mind that the earliest anything opens for breakfast is 9am, so I was walking to the local Shell service station about 5 minutes walk away to get coffee.

I travelled here with my family for 6 nights and saw a beautiful apartment on the internet. Instead we experienced a large hotel room with 4 single beds. We stayed at the Soho Point in Armenia in Palermo. I found the staff very helpful at all times. There are some positives and improvements that can be made here: Positives: Room size, although not an apartment but more like a large hotel room, It did have a kitchenette and a glass table and a good sized bathroom. Location was great, very close to restaurants and bars and parks Communication through whatsapp with the staff were always responded to promptly and politely Some repairs that I reported were attended to on the same day. The washing machine is also a bonus along with the large wardrobe Improvements: Tea and coffee facilities consisted of some old crusted pot of sugar, old coffee container and lacked individual serves and no longline milk supplied. our balcony was filthy, i had to wipe down all of the chairs, table and the floor was really dirty. The room was a little tired, bad of curtains were also dirty, along with bathroom areas. The windows to the road were paper thin and people liked to hang out downstairs on the street to all hours of the night. Couple that with a bunch of Argentine idiots who like to drive around the streets with the stereo blaring, we had interrupted sleep for most nights of our stay. The kitchen only has a couple of items and not fully equipped. I wouldn't stay here again. It's not bad, but not great.
