Best Western Plus Paradise Hotel Dilijan is a bit far from the city center so it’s not your first choice if you want to walk around after dinner or before breakfast. But it is a beautiful 4-storey hotel and does justice to the BW Plus brand. The lobby is well designed, with a spacious lobby, floor to ceiling glass windows, scenic elevator, and inviting lounge areas. Janna, the receptionist was very welcoming. When the elevator door opens on the different floors, the area in front of it is very large with lots of seating, and beyond that, a door that leads to the floor’s main balcony with a wonderful view of the river and the hills. The room itself is large and squarish, with a nice-patterned carpet, track lighting and dropped ceiling, and different wallpapers on the walls. One wall has the wardrobe cabinets, the ref cabinet, and a long work ledge which also had both a hot water kettle and a Nespresso-style coffee maker. The TV screen was wood wall above the work counter. All the décor and furniture are stylishly modern – the work chair (though no wheels), the small one seater lounge chair, the glass coffee table (actually two of them), the night stands, the night lamps, and the wardrobe cabinetry. The headboard is all quilted cushion, with good pillows. What impressed us was the large number of electric outlets – clearly, it’s designed for the modern traveler. The T&B is just as impressive. Though not a big space, the shower area is expensively tiled, with both shower and rain forest heads. The wash basin has two very useful drawers under it, which included a hair dryer. Service is also very good. We requested for tech support to help with the TV set. Though their technician was off, both Janna and the housekeeper rushed to see how they could help. Since the hotel didn’t have too many guests (we were in the low season already), dinner and breakfast was set per guest table. Dinner food was great – and so was the service by the gracious waitress. Oh, and the wifi is pretty fast – so no disappointment there either.

“An unexpected but greatly appreciated upgrade.”

Our tour operator had booked us a standard room which was a very small room with the bed right against the wall which made getting into and out of bed very difficult. We spent our first night in this room but the following day I spoke to the manager ( Mr Varag ) who was insistent that we should have a favourable impression of his hotel so he offered us an upgrade to a poolside suite which was magnificent . Needless to say we were very grateful and want to thank him for his kindness. The installations of the hotel are very impressive and we had an excellent breakfast

Many amenities were offered which unfortunately we did not have an opportunity to explore. A bit challenging to locate your room initially so best to follow the hotel staff. Many amenities were offered which unfortunately we did not have an opportunity to explore. A bit challenging to locate your room initially so best to follow the hotel staff. Staff at breakfast were extremely pleasant. Two young men from Kerala (India) were especially service-oriented. Good breakfast with many options. We were traveling with Gate1 and dinner was included at the hotel. The white wine offered with buffet dinner was exceptionally good, very dry.
